I like what ole' Gerry has to say. Coach O did break the rules and just as if any other coach would have done it needs to be dealt with. I do agree that the "basketball" coach should not have done what he did but this county has always been a football county and always will be. IF and that is a monsterous IF coach O is here in 20 years and has sustainable winning program like the "basketball" coach has had then you will have a valid argument if not point. I also see resentment from the basketball coach since O'Conner has been here and that jealousy is not good at all. Not good for the programs and not good for the school. Then again, this is, has and always been a football school and town but my point has been that Hastings should have never let O'conner back because the program will only go donw now! Huh, 6A school. Still doesn't matter! We shouldn't have lost to them! That's all on Coach!

No, Regardless of the 6A classification we should have beaten them last Friday night! Nobody said our boys were giving less I referenced the coach isn't what he used to be! Take the contacts out and put the glasses back on or let someone else read the post to you! As for the boys basketball program, go back and look at the records over the past 50 years and you will see that until the current coach arrived we barely had winning teams much less runs at the State Tournament!

This is going to be a fun game for our kids but I am afraid that it will give them a false sense of security. I'm thinking this will be the "Page" game of years ago only it is in the beginning of the season. Going to be a long season for us I'm afraid!

I said it first! Right here! That was a lame game and since Hastings is gone maybe the Cardin kid can do something before we completely tank! The game Friday night was a completely tanked game and coach O's skills are diminished now. In addition to the major off season distraction, he's just got waaaaayyyyy too much going on anyway!

Oh NO! I just heard that the Hickman County Coach is taking O'conner's place. What's the latest on that?

Didn't know they were all being played close to Nashville. Word was Mr. Wallace was going to be taking over the role as head coach. Any truth to that rumor?

I read where there is a new team in Giles County made up of former H.S. players. They are going by the rules of the TSSAA and heard a rumor that Bo is coming back to play QB for them in hopes of getting attention. What I'd heard was that his father was going to be the coach and that with the two of them hooked up together he may be preparing for the NFL. Don't know that for sure though. I think they are called the Mudders or Monsters. It was in the paper a few weeks ago. Anyone else heard this? It would be great to see Bo playing again infront of a packed house at Sam Davis!

Whew!!!! That's good. I'd heard several things from his grades to "trouble" with a girl.. Maybe he will be able to rebound and get back to division I. Speaking of coaches, has anyone heard of his father taking over control of that new Middle Tennessee Football team? If so, might not be bad if Bo comes back home. He'll still be able to play.

The Oconner fiasco you mention is a whole different zoo than what is happening at Page. Administration in Williamson County/Page made several mistakes dealing with parents and that is the reason why he is gone. The Oconner deal came down to politics in Lincoln County and that affected Oconner's ego and his greed. He was shown he didn't have the power he thought he had in Lincoln and not everyone was on board with his copmensation agreement.

That's my point. Just low down and dirty the way it played out. Just like that basketball coach up at Cornersville. Richland didn't take him back and for good reason. I'm for the Bobcats and all but I'll never think as High of O'Conner again. It's sorta like your husband leaving you for another woman then after a couple of dates coming back and your D.A. lets him! But then again, he may be able to pay the bills and keep you in that afluient house!

Ahhh... I miss the good old days!!!! Truth is if this is where he wanted to be, then he would have never left to begin with.. I also have wondered after each successive season if he would be gone. Now, we know it is not a matter of "if" he will be leaving after each seasons end but "when".. This whole fiasco just stinks!!! Then again, we could be going through the trials of our northern brothers up there in Lynnville!

I agree that we need to give him all the support we can but lets be realistic....... He really doesn't want to be here or he would have never chosen to leave to begin with... There's no way now that he will be able to devote all the needed engergy to the program. I mean Hastings let him come back with so much ease that he'll just walk over everybody now! Granted, he has been the best coach since Deere fifty or so years ago but this is a lame duck situation we are in now. I don't know why more people haven't spoken out about the stunt he pulled nor why no one is saying much about it! Having said that, I am afraid that GCHS football has seen its pennicle until Oconner is gone and someone with renewed energy comes in... Your hearing it first here! GC is a dead program from here on out!

Oconner coming back is going to be a long problematic nightmare! Hastings should have never allowed him to come back. I say in less than three years he will be gone again. You know he's looking for a way out right now!

Yeah yeah yeah.... But, all of this mess is going to raise questions about Oconner though.. From here on out we'll all be discussing if he is going to leave after each season and/or if he is looking for the next opportunity... I wish this had not played out like it did... Besides, I for one would have liked to have seen Wallace on the sideline wearing "the" headset!
