  1. Lol Doct, I'm on your side. My comment about smacking them around is because BA went into the game expecting to roll them and got shocked. I think Ensworth saw us at our worst this season, in that game. I feel that BA is much better today because of that loss.
  2. With all due respect to Ensworth, which has talented players, great coaching. They have been a continually improving team each game all season, after two losses early. They took their lumps early and battled their way out of them. BA started out flying high and thought themselves unbeatable for six games, till Ensworth smacked them around and humbled them.. I feel, and may be totally wrong, that these are the best two teams in divII AA. I think BA has the advantage going in, since their quest to regain their confidence is much more recent than Ensworths. Ensworth has to feel pretty confident that they have BA's number and that Corn will show them. BA has their fastest player this time, he was injured during their first meeting and BA has worked hard since that game to lower penalty causing mistakes and their passing game is much improved. Neither team is going to blow the other out, but I think BA has the motivation factor edge and they are all healthy. It's gonna be a great one.
  3. I agree, coach has Hamby back where he needs to be. Ensworth is a good team and did a nice job forcing it to a passing game in the first meeting. They might not fair so well with that angle this time. This will be another close game, worth the price of admission. BA by 7.
  4. After watching the MBA BA game, it looked like MBA doesn't have any speed. Maybe BA is just a really fast team. I do think MBA is a well coached team, and considering the fact that MBA beat Ensworth, Ensworth beat BA, then BA put it on MBA, I wonder if they have lost some players to injury this year. Ensworth didn't appear to have much speed either, they just made it a stop the run first kind of game and dared BA to throw the ball and it worked well for them. I would have to give Ensworth a slight razor thin edge. I'll bet it will be a great game to watch.
  5. I haven't seen MUS play, so I am going by what I have heard about them. I have been watching BA and they are much improved since their two losses in a row. Less penalties, passing game is a little better, and backs are running well. The only place on defense that is questionable is pass defense. I think BA's confidence is peaking at the right time. I predict a win over MUS but not a blowout. BA by 7. I want to see them get another shot at Ensworth, I say it will be a much different story if they play again.
  6. Well, I don't see it. I don't have one playing and maybe I am missing something just being a spectator. The one from Ensworth qualifies as cocky in my book, at the top of the list. I think BA plays with heart. The defense spent a huge amout of time on the field in the Baylor game and played hard, just got burned by the QB keepers and a few passes and should not have. Baylors QB is really good, they are undefeated because of good play at his position. I am not knocking the rest of the team, but he was the difference maker and the rest of the team did their job. I can't defend BA on the penalties, no excuse for that. The backs ran hard, but Baylor figured out we were not going to throw the ball and stacked on us the second half. I will say that if we don't find a way to throw the ball, without multiple picks, like we had in the Ensworth game, we can hang up a state title or maybe any playoff wins. There has to be some issue there, if not, we would have thrown much more against Baylor. I dont know what it is, it looked good early on in the season, and I thought no one could beat us, maybe it was because we had easy teams on the schedule. That's all I can figure. The QB seemed very confident back then, but it looks like when things get tough that fades quickly. We have great coaches, and I am sure they will get things headed in the right direction. They know what we need and will get us there. It's getting a little harder, but I am staying positive. MBA is on the horizon and we better have our ducks in a row before we face them, and have every option open or it will be a long night. Thank goodness we have a bye week to prepare.
  7. BA played too easy of a schedule early. Weak points in the team didn't show up. When you are flying high with confidence, you would naturally not try to fix anything. Offensive problems are now obvious, as well as a few defensive ones. This is a great coaching staff and they will get it in line for a run at the playoffs.
  8. Baylor has a great team, hats off to them. They have a great QB and he handles pressure very, very well. I wish he didn't, being a BA fan, but you have to give him credit. He is the difference maker on their team, no doubt. This is going to end up being an exciting playoff race. It's good for DII.
  9. Hey let's be honest, the Ensworth crowd looks like a split between two things, a gang rally and a wine and cheese party and WOW, they don't seem to sit together. Ensworth beat BA fair and square, and what Ricky choses to allow, may not benefit him too well in the long run. Then again, he may be a trend setter. You don't see BA players, or any other DII school looking like that, but if they do want to look thugish, then it is their God given right to do so. I'm all for it. Hope Ricky doesn't come up short because of his choices....
  10. Coach Potter is one of the least "cocky" coaches I have witnessed in Div. II, I'm sure he was referring to how they played and not a put down to Baylor. He is just not that kind of person. I hope the secondary went back to the field to pick up their shoes, socks, pants, shoulder pads, jerseys, helmets and mouth pieces that they got faked out of by Baylors QB on his game deciding fakes/runs. He did do an awesome job. I saw parents wanting to blame BA's coaches for the loss. If your kids are gonna be D1 prospects, then expect them to play that way, and not blame coaching for their lack of awareness. Period. A QB burning us, with what speed we are supposed to have???? Look in the mirror,,, BA will be fine. They can't continue to rely on their backs to do it all on offense either. Gotta find a way to put the ball in the air some, safely, like Baylor, to give the backs a chance, and they are the best backs in the division. I am sure they will pull it together. Who wins the last game of the year is what counts. See yall then.
  11. After watching my second BA game, OB then PJP, I don't see anyone beating them. The QB is better than I thought and they just have too many playmakers. I don't know what coach Potter has changed this year, but this team is much more intense than what I have witnessed over the past few years. He has my vote for coach of the year.
  12. In response to an earlier post about MBA, after watching the Olive Branch game, I could see where a strong defense against the run could really hurt BA. If you could slow the BA running game, make their QB beat you with his arm you can possibly beat them. He is very inconsistent throwing the football, or was during the OB game. Looked great one minute and couldn't hit the broad side of a barn the next. If that team also had a hard running attack it would work well because no one will match BAs speed on the outside. BAs strength is most definately their RB's. I expect the MBA game will be the hardest for them if they have a strong run D.
  13. Well rounder, that is a whole heapin helping of mistakes to get beat that bad. It appears that BA is that loaded, I saw the game but am unsure what depth they have. OB was a very athletic good size team and did not look miscoached. BA was just quite a bit better in every part of the game.

  15. Ok BA sounds for real, but people predict them to win it all every year. What kind of depth do they have?
