  1. $10 a ticket and that gets you in for the whole day. I believe the pass is $60 which gives you a reserved seat and admission to all games.
  2. This could be one for the ages! I'm so excited about this game. I'm predicting a close one. If the Lady Cats stay out of foul trouble then Wayne Co wins a close one by 4.
  3. allycat, I'm not nagging on you I truly believe what I said is true. I said ALL teams that make it to the tourney deserve respect and that included Scotts Hill. I take it from what I've read of your last few posts that you are part of the team and if so you have nothing to hang your head about. Your team has made your school and community very proud. Honestly, had I known before I posted that you were on the team then I wouldn't have posted at all. Most of the people on here are parents or just big time fans of our respective schools and from time to time (well, most of the time) we like to talk smack. I never intended to upset you and if I did then I apologize. Hold your head up high and be proud, there are hundreds of teams in single A across the state who were sitting home while you were playing your heart out!
  4. Can't disagree with you on that, North Greene can play. It should be a great game tommorow! A lot of weapons on both sides.
  5. OK so I was wrong about Loretto, they did not play defense against N. Greene with the intensity I've seen from them all year and their shots were not falling. When you have a game like that in the tourney then you go home and too bad, I really wanted to see the rematch. However, I was right on about Wayne Co and Scotts Hill. SH was not ready for the Lady Cats size and athleticism. I know everyone was excited about Scotts Hill's undefeated season but here are two points to consider. 1. A perfect season against mostly inferior opponents doesn't prepare you for the season that matters, tournament time. Which brings me to point 2. Everyone came into the state tournament undefeated. It's a new season. Win or go home. Wayne Co. had 3 losses one to a talented AAA team by one point and two to Loretto (one in season, one in region championship). We also played against a couple of tough AA schools and won. These types of games that challenge your team have to be on your schedule if you plan on bringing home the Gold Ball. Congrats to Scotts Hill for a good showing in the tourney, it's tough to lose with the finals so close, trust me Wayne Co. knows all to well how you feel right now. Now, Go Lady Cats bring home the Gold Ball!
  6. Any team that makes it to the state tournament period deserves credit. It's a big deal!
  7. Any team that makes it to the state tournament period deserves credit. It's a big deal!
  8. Let me be the first to congratulate Scotts Hill on a fantastic 31-1 record! Lol Seriously, should be a great game. I'm saying Wayne Co. By 10.
  9. Exactly the lack of class and sportsmanship I am talking about.
  10. Here's an unbiased opinion for single A (I'm a Wayne Co. Fan and we certainly didn't have the largest crowd). By far the Largest crowd goes to Scott's Hill with Loretto being a very close second. Both student sections were really into the game. Worst fan display in single A goes to Red Boiling Springs. Lots of loud booing when Wayne County's lineup was being called out. There is just no cause for doing that! I know every fan base ha a few people who get out of hand but this was more than just a few. The poor sportsmanship continued with a derogatory sign being held up in reference to one of our players. Parents, school officials, or even a representative of the TSSAA should have taken action. Let's all be good sports cheer for your team, ride the refs a little, get excited but leave the personal stuff at home.
  11. I think u misunderstood what WCHSGrad was saying - that was a congratulations to Loretto from us in Wayne Co. He wasn't saying Loretto is in Wayne Co. Lol All of us from Wayne Co are pulling for a District 12 rematch in the championship.
  12. I said before the tournament started that I felt we would see a Wayne Co/Loretto final. After Thursday I feel a lot more confident about my picks. Both teams face tough competition Friday I think Loretto wins in a squeaker while Wayne Co wins by 10+ against Scotts Hill. I believe Scotts Hill has a good team and they looked real good against a depleted Cosby team. I believe that the lack of competition SH has faced will hurt them against the Lady Cats. It's going to be interesting to see how the SH ladies will respond to the size and athleticism WC brings to the game. If SH doesn't get shocked by the sudden increase in level of competition then it could be a close one otherwise the Lady Cats walk to the championship game.
  13. First of all congrats to the Lady Cats! We came out a little shaky in the first half, the nerves were showing for both teams. After halftime though the Cats turned it on and never looked back. Next, let me say that I was disappointed at the lack of sportsmanship some in the RBS crowd displayed. It started with a lot of Booing when our girls were being announced, No Class. I guess I expect better at this level. I could have got past that if it were not for one of the signs being held up by RBS students. The sign was derogatory toward one of our players and I'm shocked that RBS parents and/or faculty members didn't put a stop to it. Very disappointed.
  14. This years tourney could go down as one of the most exciting ones in years. So many of the teams seem to be evenly matched. I'm going with Wayne Co out of the bottom bracket and the top bracket is a toss up in my opinion between Lake, Jackson, and Loretto. I won't rule out an all District 12 championship (and Region 6) rematch between Wayne Co. and Loretto.
  15. I like our (Wayne Co.) chances in this match-up. We have a lot of experience facing good shooting teams (Perry Co., Loretto, and Forrest). A lot of teams that make it to the 'boro by shooting the three have problems in the first round adjusting to the very different surroundings. If RBS experiences this then WC wins by 15+. If not then I still think we come out on top but only by 4.
  16. What you may be remembering is a time when the tournament was organized differently than it is now. Instead of playing all games at one location the first rounds were played at the home of the higher seed with the semi's and finals held at a central location.
  17. Although low scoring I thought the game was good. Both teams were cold in the first quarter and didn't score but after that both defenses turned it up a notch and made it a great game. Loretto did a decent job containing Daniels and they made Risner work hard for everything. Wayne Co. did an outstanding job defensively! #14 Skelton for WC played man on Laws all night and shut her down. Laws only got off about four shots for the entire game. Loretto rarely got off an uncontested shot and that was the difference in the game. I enjoyed this game and it was about what I expected. This was a pairing of two very good teams and I expect to see them playing again very soon in the region championship.
  18. Final score was 39-28 Hmmm. . . I seem to recall some wise sage predicting WC by 10 a few posts earlier.
  19. I'll also say this, regardless who wins Monday I predict that we will see a rematch of this same game in the championship of the region. I don't see much competition for either team coming from the other district. They very well could find themselves pitted against each other in the 'Boro at some point.
  20. From what I saw Thursday night in the Loretto/Collinwood game the girl who just returned from injury looked pretty rusty. I don't want to knock on her because I know she is a good player but it's just something that would happen to anyone who has been out for awhile. One thing I think that helps LHS is that those girls who have had to step up in her absence are a lot more experienced than they would have been otherwise. All that said, if you saw Wayne Co. in the first game vs. Perry Co. then you saw a team that is ready for tournament action. If Coach Byrd had wanted to push the issue it wouldn't have been any problem for the Lady Cats to have had a fourty point lead before Coach Lomax of PC took his starters out of the game midway through the fourth qtr. I'm saying Wayne Co. by 10. and Go Lady Cats!!!
  21. Hey I have no interest at all in the place but they do have some great food. I always stop when I am in Linden. It used to be more often but all my relatives have moved or passed away except for a couple.
  22. OK I'll admit it. . . I want to see this re-match for two reasons. 1. Round One was one of the most amazing games I've ever seen, college and Pro games included. Both teams played their hearts out and they played with class. I like watching these young boys turn into men on the football field and learn to show respect for each other. 2. It will give me an excuse to come early and eat a burger and fried twinkie from B & H Dairy Bar! Good Luck Vikings against Lake Co. and GO CATS!!!!
  23. I think the Cats will win but the spread will NOT be 10. That would mean we would have to hit a field goal and we all know that ain't happening. I guess we could get it by going for two and getting a safety! I said early in the WC/NCS thread that I had watched the JB/NCS game and that I wasn't impressed with either team. (Took a lot of heat for that but turned out to be true at least for NCS) JB is good but I think we match up well against them. The only game plan that works for JB to win is a low scoring game in which they keep the ball the majority of the game.
  24. Mercy rule goes into effect before the fourth quarter WC 42 NCS 7
