  1. Just wondering. Does Wayne Co. have a new PA announcer? Noticed it was someone different for the playoff game last week.
  2. OK so you missed the main point of what I was saying. I wasn't trying to beat up on the kid or take the fun out of the game. The crux of what I said about that was to go celebrate with YOUR team. You can't turn toward the opposing team and taunt. You just can't. I love to see teammates High fiving, knocking helmets, etc. But that wasn't even why I posted to begin with. I was trying to (and not surprisingly you missed it) point out the lunacy of you saying that assessing the penalty on the kickoff wasn't a true punishment I believe you called it a "paper tiger?". Placing the penalty on the extra point at worse results in a loss of two points for the offending team. By placing it on the kickoff the penalty exposes the offending team to a possible TD because of the good field position; at the very worst the team goes three and out and flips the field on the offending team by punting inside the ten.
  3. The Waynesboro Youth teams are AWESOME!! The future is bright! This year our league consisted of Waynesboro, Collinwood, Lawrenceburg Wildcats, Lawrenceburg Panthers, and Summertown. Waynesboro won the championship in the 4,5,6 year old, 9/10 year old, and 11/12 year old divisions! Three out of four aint bad!!!! Also the 11/12 year old group won back to back championships going 17-0 combined for the two years!
  4. First off ALL players no matter the level of play need to act respectful of the game and their opponent. Like my old ball coach used to say, "Boys when you score a TD act like you been there before and that you plan on coming back real soon." Just hand the ball to the Ref and go high 5 your teammates. The penalty being enforced on the kickoff was HUGE. As i recall we only got about a 15 yard return on it HOWEVER, the due to the penalty we started that drive on approx. the 50 yard line! I don't get much better than that. I was real proud of our Wayne Co. Wildcats. They played hard, showed respect for the game and their opponent and got the job done. WCHS 2011 TSSAA STATE CHAMPIONS!!!!!!!!!!
  5. Too busy celebrating the TD to watch the officials. Honestly, after some of the calls they made against us tonight can we really trust them?
  6. You have a point could have gone either way. However, we needed to win the game in regulation. Didn't need to go to OT with the range their kicker had. I think Coach Crews was channeling Steve Spurrier tonight in pulling out plays when you least expect them! lol
  7. you are correct. . . Final score 27-13 I've got a picture of the scoreboard
  8. Also, GREAT job by the Wildcat coaching staff tonight in preparation and play calling! Coach Rice had those boys ready and Coach Crews call an almost flawless offensive game!
  9. Just back from Huntington. . . Awesome game at a great place to play football! Huntington you were a class act! Best team we have seen all year I really felt for those Huntington boys after the game, they played their hearts out. I am so proud of the Wildcats for keeping their composure after two huge miscues that resulted in tying up the game. You guys could have hung your heads and blamed a loss on misfortune or bad officiating but you didn't! You kept your head in the game and finished the job! That last possession by Wayne Co. might have been described as a "Hail Mary" by the announcers but WC fans have seen that same play ran more than once this year and every time it has resulted in a TD. Don't underestimate what the Cats can do in the air and don't underestimate what Mathis #10 can do once he has the ball in his hands! It's sad that the T$$AA puts two teams like this in the same quad. They should be playing this coming Friday in the semi's. By the way, anyone who was at the game. . . what was up with the clock or the clock operator?!? Couldn't get the clock started, couldn't get it stopped. Huntington was given a chance at the end of the first half because of this and could have made a difference in the game.
  10. I heard from the school today that they have already sold almost 500 tickets for the game. Extra bleachers have been brought in from all over the county. Parking at the school fills up FAST. You can park at the elementary school or in Calvary Baptist Church parking lot and it's just a short walk to the stadium. For you PC folks both places are before you actually get to the high school. To get to the elementary school take a left right at Calvary Baptist, after parking just walk down one of the streets that parallel hwy 13 to the school. I can't wait for this thing to get started!!!!!
  11. In 1988 Collinwood had, in my opinion, it's best team. Darrin Ward QB won Mr. Football. Jake Linville was All-State WR, Kelby Daniel was LB/RB, he was either All-State or second team All-State. Robin Holt was All-Region at RB I believe.
  12. I'm looking forward to this game! WCHS vs. Collinwood is one of those rivalry games that ALWAYS matters. However this year it ain't gonna be easy being green! Wayne Co. wins easily but it won't be a huge score. Coach Rice is always classy and respectable of the opposition. Second and third string come off the bench early third quarter.
  13. The way to beat MtP is to make Harlan pass the ball. Pressure him too hard and you will flush him out of the pocket where he is most dangerous. I think PC wins this one by two tds.
  14. You gotta put Fairview in the top five of any list. They are a well coached team that plays together well. If I remember correctly they have 12 Juniors on their squad. Good passing team and don't get frustrated easy. They will make waves in the tournament.
  15. They won't challenge this year but look out for Wayne Co. for the next few years. These girls lost four players in pre-season because of parents relocating then lost their starting rt side stricker after the first few games due to injury from a car wreck. Wayne Co. Has played with 11 players all year ( sometimes only 10). Three of the eleven have never played before! Only two Seniors on the team and Four Freshmen who have excelled all year long. They are a tough team now and will only get better.
  16. That is a great question. I don't believe it was even brought up over in the WC/MtP thread but the difference in that game was PAT's. Wayne Co. made theirs and MtP didn't. Wayne Co. has been very successful this year in converting PAT's of both kinds. This game could very well be decided by a kicker.
  17. OK. I must have missed that. Thanks for clearing that up barb!
  18. Please don't go there. This was a GREAT hard fought game by both teams. Did we have the best officiating? NO! Bad calls BOTH ways. And many NO calls, again BOTH ways. N. Greene wasn't beat by the officials in the end, on that particular day Wayne Co. was just a little bit better. I'm quite sure you guys will be back next year and if we aren't then I wish you good luck!
  19. Also from Wayne Co., although just a JR., Kelsey Risner #10 has already signed with Union University.
  20. Thanks for the support and kind words Viking97! Folks in Wayne Co. are pulling for your guys this week! Let's make it an all District 12a year!!!!!
  21. What a GREAT game! If you were an uninterested party and a bball fan you hated to see that game end. It was a shootout and both teams left it all on the floor! N. Greene you are a great team, well coached, great fans! Congrats to my Wayne Co. Lady Cats and Coach Byrd!
  22. As a parent, I know that no one is upset with you. You gave them something they will always remember! That sting you are feeling will go away and you will be proud of what you and your team accomplished. Don't lose your fire, with the drive you have you will certainly be a success in all you set out to do. Go to the TSSAA website and look up how many girls bball teams there are in single A. (trust me, it's a bunch). In 2011 Scotts Hill was in the top four! HUGE ACCOMPLISHMENT!!!
  23. First let me say that I'm all for letting the students have a good time and enjoy the game. I love seeing a spirited student section cheering together, having shout wars with the opposing students, etc. But I'm looking at this from an overall perspective, the boos were not just an isolated few students. It was a large portion of the crowd, adults included. (Yes we have a few who want to act like idiots from time to time but they don't get a free pass. We had some show up today that hadn't been to a tourney game since districts and they started in booing. All it took was a polite request to stop). My main issue was with the sign, and not even the fact that the kids displayed it, but the fact that no adult told them to stop! The sign was way out of line and since no one took the opportunity to tell these kids then they can assume it was acceptable behavior. I know that all RBS fans aren't like this and wouldn't approve. If and when one of our students acts this way I hope someone is bold enough to point it out and call it what it is.
  24. Sorry dog, we've seen you guys both games. The "secret" is out!
  25. Thanks haywood808. After watching #32 McNeese (sp?) play I have a feeling North Greene won't be forgotten for a few years! But were still still gonna being it to you hard! But classy!
