  1. That was a really great game. Them boys was HITTING! If these teams play this way the rest of the way, the District could get interesting real quick.
  2. Patriots start the game off 3 and out. Devils score on their first play from scrimmage on a perfectly timed downfield strike (Rankin to Hopkins). Patriots go 3 and out again. See above..... Devils win 28-7.
  3. This game replaces the Blue Devils traditional opening game opponet, Portland, with the cross town rival Heritage. I wonder if Heritage replaced Portland on the countdown ticker in the BDP locker room? Will this game live up to the hype? As Turtle Man says, we'll have "Live action!" on Friday night. I would suspect that the game will open very sloppy on both sides due to jitters and nervousness. After all, it is opening night let alone against your in-town rivals. Would you want to be the one that misses the tackle and gives up the first score? That place is gonna erupt! Momentum in this game will be HUGE. If White House gets out to an early lead, I believe they will close it out with their punishing, grind it out style. I think it is imperative for the Patriots to get out to an early lead and keep the Blue Devils on the ropes. The Patriots are the defending District champions and had only a couple of losses due to graduation. The Devils are talented at QB and RB so you know whats up even though Rankin can throw the ball well. He's the best natural thrower since Heath Johnson. I just dont think Porter will stray too far from what has been good for him. The Blue Devils proly have the edge defensively even though they have a new defensive coordinator. I believe that the Blue Devils win this one at "home" around a score of 21-17. It spite of this how sweet would it be for the Patriots to pull off the shocker of the decade in White House. Should be one for the ages.
  4. Any kid can transfer at any time and retain full and immediate eligibility.......if their parents move!
  5. Haha Commish. I did fail to mention Springfield with much regard, If the Jackets would just get back to deep playoff runs, i.e. semifinals, or maybe win a championship they would indeed fill the stands once again. Springfield is in a good position to do so this year possibly. Too much tradition and generations of alumni at Springfield to not be the best supported team in the Region. I saw them once at your place and it was rocking. Like I said, the county schools seem to have a much better fan base than the city schools. Greenbrier, White House, Mo town, East Robt. all bring a good crowd. If you want to see a packed house, you better get to White House football stadium about 2 hours early to see the White House vs. White House Heritage game. I imagine the Devils are steaming over their loss to the Patriots last year at Vanderbilt. Oh, but that is for another thread..........
  6. A faceful of dirt and some sore muscles.
  7. I really only see White House and Portland travelling well. Macon Co. will to those schools. Maplewood cant seem to muster more than 100 (including the band) for home playoff games, The BDP Big Blue mist travels far and wide.
  8. and a new line coach????
  9. here I am with my 2015 predictions: 1. Pearl Cohn 2. Maplewood 3. Springfield 4. White House 5. Portland 6. Whites Creek 7. Macon Co. Boy, how much does that opening game with Portland mean to the Blue Devils now? Winner goes to 4th place to me but I'll start White House off there. The Devils have trouble with the top 3 teams in my list. Springfield should have enough left over from last year to pull off an upset or two. Pearl Cohn finishes with 1 dist loss, Maplewood and Springfield will have 2, White House 3, Portland 4, and the rest really doesn't matter. I don't know if this move down in classification for Portland will be the relief that they asked for, but it won't be as bad as MJ, Hend., Beech, SC, etc. Maybe a couple of more W's for them.
  10. White House Heritage will be very strong this year. They lost four important seniors last year but should have plenty of offensive firepower back. I just want to get CPA away from their itty bitty home (football) field. Its a joke how small the field is. You would figure that they have enough money to bult a proper soccer pitch, but then again a small field works to their advantage. Go Patriots!
  11. Yeah yeah yeah mubly. Terrible showing by the Patriots last night. definitely were not ready for the game. Very disappointed by the lack of rebounding and failure to stop the drive by the Pats. Credit Sycamore for fighting and playing the game to win. Of course, the referring was terrible and I hope NOBODY gets those officials again. See you next year when the Patriots are bigger, stronger, faster, and more dominant.
  12. Patriots gonna whip the Cubs in White House tomorrow night!
  13. How in the heck did Heritage lose to WH???? At home no less. Heard that Tate boy couldn't be stopped. Bad loss for the Patriots just as they were starting to make a run in the District.
  14. Unfortunately its football country. None of the gyms are really rocking. Heritage cant even get a full cheerleader crew. The "competition" unit does the football games but not the basketball games. I always thought the "showstoppers" were a secret weapon for the Bobcats. LOL!
  15. Mo-town sure showed me who was boss against the Patriots. Heritage will have to realize that Sizemore, Cunningham, and Bailey ain't there anymore. This was really surprising to me based upon earlier games. We'll see if Petrone can get them turned around and believing in themselves. I'm still not counting them out yet and I think they will find their identity and play more competitively as the season progresses. Kramm and Demaris must step it up to take some of the scoring pressure off the guards and become more multi dimensional.
  16. Harlan definitely was the difference maker in the champ. game. Cheatham would not have been the same without him. They don't have him, or saunders, or darden now or that other big post so I stand by my eval. Not to say they wont be competitive. maybe they will make me eat my words but I just don't see it. Wait till you see Sizemore and Cunninghams replacements. See all yall in a couple of weeks.
  17. Harpeth certainly put a scare in the Cub faithful in last year's championship game but the Cubs were killer in the clutch. The 3's by Saunders were just like nails in a coffin. Too bad that a kid with that much natural ability and potential isn't "comfortable" in college. While the Austin kid is a good high school player, the Cubs will not replace what they lost and will come back down to earth in District play. Even with one of the better teams in recent memory, the Cubs couldn't handle CPA.
  18. Posty is a sore loser. As Dalton said, they FINALLY beat White House this year but the 9AA champs are still from the city of WH ! LOL!!!!!!!
  19. I am thankful to hear that most of the top players from 9AA last year are playing ball in college. Only one I haven't heard of is Dillon White from Motown. The District was blessed with a load of talent last year and ALL of the teams are in rebuilding mode as far as I'm concerned. I don't think Cheatham will be contenders at all. IMO Motown, Harpeth and Heritage have the best shot at the title this year. As usual, that may be the only bright spot for our 9AA teams as the T$$AA still allows semi-pro CPA to compete with the publics. Even if you throw them out, you still face the challenges of playing a East Lit. or Pearl Cohn in the Regions. I watched Heritage hang with PC last night for a half and then just get wore down in the 2nd half for a double digit loss. However, I liked what I saw in the first half from the Patriots.
  20. I know that Jordan Darden is playing a Motlow State, what about Saunders? Is he playing collegiately anywhere?
  21. I would be more confident about a WH victory if it were being played in White House, but that being said, I think the Blue Devils will attempt to control the clock with their ground game and keep the high octane PC offense off the field as much as possible. It always seems that this is the round that gives WH the most trouble and two road games in row will make it difficult and challenging to make it to Cookeville. I think a healthy Devils team have a better game this year against another Metro team and advance on to the semis by a score of 24-18.
  22. Giles is getting worn out by the Blue Devils. Perhaps they are coming to life at the right time???
