  1. Anyone have a link? These two may even top the 108 points put up last week by McNairy Co. and Bolivar. Can't be there, but would like to listen.
  2. Anyone have a link to listen to this game online?
  3. You people (the machine/lifetaker/Coach Jackson or one of his minions) are nuts and I really don't care what any of you think or about anything that goes on in Troy. I am not Truth1 and it's you who needs to move on and stop calling people. BTW, my friends and I had a some good laughs listening to your voice. Que a woman's voice (for that's how Jason Short sounds)... Maaaaaan-Up! I would strongly suggest that you guys move on! Playing the "kids" card is despicable on your part and ignorant as well. I'm pretty sure the kids don't read these sites and I have never downed a kid (look back at all the posts I have ever made). The only toes I've stepped on were the ones who deserved it and are well over 18. I've told you three times I am not Truth1 and that I have moved on. Maaaaan up and do the same.
  4. Paranoia and schizophrenia continue to run rampant at OC. I repeat one more time for the hearing, visually and mentally impaired - I am who I am and no one else. I am Rebelious!!!
  5. He has moved on long ago... YOU brought his name up accusing him of being another poster. Leave him alone like he has done to you and stop accusing him everytime someone says something negative about OC. Surely he isn't your only enemy.
  6. Looks like (Lifetaker/The Machine) Jackson is off his meds again!
  7. ...thought Clark was transferring out and that his dad had took a job somewhere in District 13 next season.
  8. That really is Coach Winston, lol, read the other posts he made

  9. I agree with going for two at the end and as far as the play call, not a bad play to put the ball in Parr's hands at the end... say what you want about him, but he wants the football in the clutch. I'm sure a staff as well-prepared as OC had a specific play in mind they wanted to run just for this situation (like the one they started to run at the start of the game with Fair in the shotgun for the Tebow jump pass?), but for reasons only they know decided against it. As with all games like this, if the play worked it was the right one and you are a genius, if not, you get second guessed. I may second guess some things about the program, but the coach's play calling decisions on game night is not one of them. It was a great game and unfortunately someone had to lose.
  10. Talk about some bulletin board material... if this don't fire up the Rebels, nothing will!
  11. Obion County 37, Covington 24 OC is coming off a "fairly" easy win over Fairley and didn't have to expose anything new on offense. Kept it simple and won the game without any injuries. Covington had a hard fought win over Dyersburg and is a little banged up. IMO, a much better matchup for the Rebels than Dyersburg and one the Rebels relish! Just a few stops by the Rebels D should be enough.
  12. Wet weather pushes back OC-D’burg Posted: Thursday, October 27, 2011 7:02 pm The Messenger Overnight rain and the threat of more showers throughout the day has forced Obion County Central officials to postpone tonight’s football game with visiting Dyersburg until Friday night. Kickoff will remain at 7 p.m. OCCHS Athletic Director Craig Rogers made the call this morning after evaluating the situation and checking the weather radar that showed more rainfall in Arkansas possibly headed in this direction. Senior Night activities — which will be held before the game — are to honor more than 50 Rebel fall sports athletes and figured into the decision as well, Rogers said. “There were a lot of variables. Obviously, the rain and field conditions are first, and it looks like a heavy band (of rain) is headed our way and could get here later in the day,†he told The Messenger. “We’ll be honoring a lot of seniors and we don’t want their parents to have to stand out in the rain, either. “And, there’s the gate issue, too. We’re expecting a big, big crowd, and we don’t want the weather to be an issue. Friday is supposed to be nice, and my thought is that this is just the best for all involved.†Rogers said OC head football coach Shawn Jackson was initially in favor of playing, but was on-board with his decision after listening to his reasoning. The Central AD contacted Dyersburg officials around mid-morning and delivered the news. “It’s our home game and our call,†Rogers said. The contest will have a bearing on the seeding for the West quad playoff bracket in Class 4A. If the Rebels win and complete a 9-1 regular season, they likely will be the fifth seed and play in Memphis at either Kings-bury or Frayser in Round 1 — barring an upset in the Covington-Ripley or Milan vs. Haywood game(s). A loss likely would send Central to Memphis to play Fairley in the opening round as the sixth seed. The Bulldogs probably will be ticketed as a No. 3 seed. Dyersburg, winners of six straight and with a 7-2 mark coming in, would be a fifth seed if it beats Obion Central and a sixth seed with a loss. No decision had been made as of press time on the Huntingdon at Dresden District 13A showdown, also tonight. The No. 1-ranked Mustangs will be looking to complete their first unbeaten regular season since 1975, while Dresden could win its first district championship since 1998.
  13. I didn't see any evidence of "slack" when the Rebels were up 22-7 to start the game. I would venture that the coaches who were there gave 100 percent effort the past two weeks to prepare this team as witnessed by their quick start. As for blame, why is there a need for it in the first place? Obion County got beat because they gave gave up a long TD pass in the final seconds of the first half, lost their momentum and didn't respond when Covington got it going offensively... period! As far as I know, ALL the coaches were present and accounted for when this happened, so if there is any blame at all it should be equal.
  14. It looks like it's now or never for am Obion County football program which has mortgaged the farm the past three years to try and build a winner. They return all their skilled players mostly seniors on offense and have also added several other talented players including Dyer County transfer Marcus Parr. Defensively, they should be better if the two-platoon system is pushed aside. The current head coach has a .500 record the last two seasons after an 0-10 first year. They have been to the playoffs the last two seasons but have not advanced. Most feel the team underachieved last season, so anything less than a couple of playoff wins would be considered a letdown by most fans. As a grad, I feel like the cost to get to this point has been pretty high as the basketball and baseball programs have struggled during this time as the fb coach has been given pretty much a free rein to do as he pleased. The discontent amongst the coaches of the various sports led to the removal of the AD. The offseason drama here has created a tense atmosphere and it looks like all the programs are at a crossroads, especially football.
  15. Obion County's Colton Woodward has allowed two runs in 18 innings and has two straight shutouts. Also a nice looking shortstop and starting to hit as well. When he is on the mound, the Rebs always have a chance.
  16. Dam the rain... the Rebels can't even get in a scrimmage game these days, but their field sure does look better. an't wait to see what they look like thus year.
  17. The OCC offensive coaches (Jackson and Smith) seem to get the best out of their players. Four players from last year's team received "all" honors of one sort or another after not having a catch the previous season. Now they are not only blessed with returnees such as McGrew and Carey, but the additons of Parr (interesting to see how he grows under Smith, a coach who played his position in college) and Parker McMinn (this kid has a ton of athletic ability and good size) coupled with Fair and Phipps makes for a formidable set of skill players. The O-line will be fine and look for the Rebels to put up even more offense than last season. The defense is still a question mark but hopefully they will play people both ways this season. Would love to see what Parr and Tanner can do on defense, to name a few.
  18. Dylan Dye would not start at qb at Obion County... Phipps has the time invested and knows the system. Such a head case, no matter how big or talented, wouldn't make it.
  19. Word out of Troy is that they should be much improved this season, with a good mixture of youth and experience, and a lot of team speed. A lot of enthusiasm is surrounding the baseball program right now and hopefully it will translate to wins on the field. The community has steppted up, forming a booster club and holding fundraisers so some of the facilities can be improved. Look forward to watching them this season.
  20. An already outstanding offense just got better with the enrollment of Dyer County transfer Marcus Parr. Plenty of weapons on offense but defense is still a big question mark as they get new d coordinator and probabky switch defenses again.
  21. I think the Rebels are going to surprise some folks this season. They are taking advantage of their indoor facilities and I hear they have been getting stronger and faster in the offseason. It's good to see some enthusiasm surrounding the baseball team.
