  1. Excellent post, ddaddy! Kids miss so many high school experiences because of someone else's tunnel vision or selfishness.
  2. Did you even see the DC game? Big O and D lines? I-fornation? I thought DC had the smallest lines that they have ever had and they ran the majority of their plays from the spread. At least that's what I saw.
  3. I predict a slippery slope on both sides of Monteagle tonight. The rain has washed all the salt off the pavement. However, I got my meteorology degree by correspondence through CoachT.
  4. Smyrna is rolling right now.
  5. In response to your post, kbc00, I agree on one point. DC did not shoot well at all. Henry Co.'s game plan was to double team the post in the paint and cover up #3 every where she went. HC was going to let the other players shoot 'til their arms went numb. Good plan. It almost worked. Almost. You say you heard someone say......You didn't hear squat. You are the one sitting at mid court, front row with the palm pilot, blackberry, dingleberry or whatever keeping stats. According to the official book at Northwest, #3 Hamilton, while being the focus of the HC defense, shot 22 times and scored 17 points. The other two guards shot 12 times and scored 6 points, even though they were invited to shoot by the defense. Dickson County did try to go inside to the big girl, as you so affectionately address her. The early result was a charging foul and late was a stumble and a fall against the double team. #34 Amelia Downs saved the day by stepping up and scoring 14 points on 13 shots, including the two free throws to put the Lady Cougars ahead for good with 4.2 seconds left in the game. kbc00, the community knows who you are. You have berated players on the boys team, also. The girls have won 22 games and you act like they are doomed. They shot the ball miserably against the third place team in the district that have won near 20 games themselves. The Lady Cougars still won. kbc00, I know you are very, very familiar with this team, but I don't think you are doing any service to the team that you claim to support, just so you can appear "in the know," on this forum.
  6. The Leaf Chronicle today quotes APSU coach Carrie Daniels saying that Janay Armstrong was suspended for the TSU game, but will be back for the game Saturday. I guess now the coach is in on the media conspiracy. I must confess, I never did check out my sources at the ER.
  7. Quarterfinal action from Thursday night: Northeast 84 Springfield 40 Kenwood 70 Clarksville 66 OT Dickson County 72 Northwest 32 Henry County 54 Rossview 51 All the higher seeds post victories. Semis on Saturday @ Northwest High: Northeast vs. Kenwood Dickson County vs. Henry County
  8. Those low down newspaper reporters, they have done it again. I'm heading down to the ER right now. I'm sure they will release the records of everyone that's been through the ER. Get real. Why would they make up a suspension story? The media makes mistakes, but everything posted on a sports message board is the absolute gospel truth.
  9. I just happened to read in Tuesday's Leaf Chronicle that one Janay Armstrong did not play for Austin Peay against Tennessee State Monday night. The article said she was suspended. Whoed have guessed?
  10. Ivey Dye and Jasmine Porter from Henry County
  11. utvols04, you are a Math-A-Magician.
  12. Thursday night, 7:00PM at the home sites: #8 Springfield @ #1 Northeast # 7 Northwest @ #2 Dickson County # 6 Rossview @ # 3 Henry County # 5 Clarksville @ # 4 Kenwood
  13. Girls quarterfinals are Thursday night at the higher seeded satellite sites. Everything is set except for the Springfield/Northwest coin flip for the #7 and #8 spot.
  14. The first tie breaker is head to head. Dickson did not beat CHS or Northeast, so if tied there is no way Dickson could be seeded above either of the other two tied teams.
  15. This topic died on the vine, when someone started the whining post about Henry County.
  16. The folks at the Tennessean have been updating their sports site. As noted on this board the high school page has been stuck on football since last fall. The basketball and wrestling front page is now updated. The basketball scoring leaders and 3point leaders are now available from this page without knowing some super secret code. Word of info: If you are using an old bookmark or favorite, you may still be sent to the page with the football coverage. You may need to update your bookmarks. Go to Tennessean.com and click on Sports, then click on High School, then on scoring leaders or 3point leaders. I enjoy checking the leaders and have missed this info during this season. I hope this helps someone.
  17. Groundhog Day Standings Northeast 10-2 Dickson Co 10-2 Henry Co 9-3 Kenwood 8-4 Rossview 5-7 Clarksville 4-8 Northwest 1-11 Springfield 1-11
  18. Groundhog day approaches, so this is the next to final weekend of the regular season. Teams jockey for tournament positions tonight. Northeast treks west to Henry County for a battle of twice beaten first place teams. Dickson County tries to hold serve with the other two leaders at Northwest. Clarksville tries to make a move on the fourth sitting Kenwood Knights @ KHS. Springfield comes to Ctown at Rossview. Will the home teams prevail? Will weather cause any problems?
  19. It's a three way tie. Henry County only has two losses, also.
  20. I'm sure justhoopin can give us the low down on what went on at the Kenwood/Northeast game, since the Leaf Chronicle already asked the coach and didn't get much of an answer, as you see above.
  21. Friday Night Lights Dickson County @ Northeast Clarksville @ Northwest Rossview @ Henry County Springfield @ Kenwood
