Well, honestly...we can't smell the hogs. Maybe if the players took a shower once in a while we could, but they think not showering is what got them to the playoffs, so it may be years before they start. Small price to pay for glory

I have to say, Lions are big creatures and with the size we have in Dresden...I think a name change is in order. Any ideas? Oompa Loompas? piglets? Or my favorite, The Dresden Weenie Dogs. hahaha

Yeah...we had to spend a ton putting new grass down this year, and since its "rotary" field you would figure they would foot that bill. If they paid for the field, bleachers, all of that then I understand..but if not it seems like they are taking advantage of the kids. Lions club down in Forrest spends a fortune on the sports programs there. I don't see them fundraising out of the kids pockets. Something doesn't add up, but being an outsider to the area I may not know the whole story. Would love to hear it. Noticed obion county tries to be equal with all their schools, but in weakley Westview gets 27000 for renting UTM stadium from the district and the other schools get ???? for upkeep on their field. We share our field with JR high along with two other schools. I understand they need more seats at Martins middle field, maybe parking...but to throw away 27000 grand seems a little unbalanced to the outsiders eye. Kids in Dresden, GLeason, and Greenfield seem to be getting the shaft. Not complaining, just stating the obvious. Questions questions questions. Please give an answer if your more knowing than this old guy.

Are there any old time dresden folks on this that can explain why the field is called rotary field? Heard several explanations and then counters etc etc. I know they get our concessions stand, which is strange when there isn't a booster club. Figured there was something, but heard contrasting things. Just curious. Figured Id put it out there for the two or three dresden fans that know read this. Sure would like to know.

Can't disagree with that. After today's weight room performance, have to say your right. Bunch of kids dragging down others being lazy will cost us. Should be kicked off team, but hard to play a game with 20. Same guys being lazy who are on the sidelines on gamedays begging for playing time. Playing time is won with work/effort/heart. Hope Hewett puts his boot up some rear-ends! Leaders can lend their boot anytime. When I say "go lions" that doesn't mean go hide or goof off when its time to work. FYI

Maybe Lake County. Not sure if its been confirmed. Hope so, that is a good, fast team to play. I believe they run the spread. Should be good practice. Need a wing t team that likes to pound in a scrimmage next fall. Would be nice to see how our young defense hold up against that.

Bradford, Huntin.. Still not playing for a full game, but better results. The Lady Lions start putting it together at tournament time and it will be a fun ride! Keep working girls. Even when the shots aren't falling, defense can win. Good job Coach Wests

Spring ball gonna be good for lineman. Every other position will be interesting with most receivers, backs, dbs, lbs playing baseball and a baseball coach who thinks spring football is a waste of time. Suppose that means summer football and basketball is too? Heck...the pros should only practice during season...camps are useless. hahaha I hate baseball!

we are 2a. Only switch with a petition or every few years. Not this year. 1a for regular season and 2a for playoffs. The boys are mostly doing well. Some are still passive in the weight room, but after the next max in two weeks, they will be thanked for the hard work or called out for lack of effort. Basketball players lifting in the morning except for a palmersville kid who can't get a ride. Got a couple new kids out and I know of at least two 8th graders who have already started lifting. I have high hopes for every position. qb is the big question mark. But, it would be a big problem like in mckenzie...where they have 3 to choose from. hahaha

Don't care where we play, football is football. Maybe we play there because the board spends 27,000 a year to rent it and we figured since we get zero for our field upkeep we may as well get some use out of it.
