Thanks! I really hope it doesn't.. with the numbers all 5 Roane County schools posted for this years classifications we would be the 6th largest school in the state. I don't like the sound of that...

I'm not gonna disagree with you. It just seemed like there was a curse with Grace the last 4 minutes of those games. Outplay them (mostly) for the first 3 and a half quarters and then whatever could go wrong did the last 4 minutes of those games. The top 3 teams in this district would run with any other top 3 teams in every class A district not named Memphis. The fact of the matter is Mitchell's don't grow on trees around here. I would have loved to see where we matched up to a team of that caliber before this matchup. Those caliber teams are the AAA schools with heavy tradition around here who just don't schedule small A schools because they're too busy playing bigger and better schools prepping themselves for their own region championships and state tournament runs. We don't have the money in our schools to go out of state and play the big time flashy tournaments like the storied programs do because these runs are usually once a decade for us maybe twice. If we were able to produce teams like the one we have this year I'm sure we would play the big Christmas tournaments to play better competition. But we don't, and that's part of the reason the school board has approved to consolidate all of the county schools into one mega school (pending funding approval from the county commission). This is the reason we need to make some noise in this tournament and show the school board we can be just fine as our own schools. We're fighting for something more.

Ready for this to play out! It's gonna be a lot of fun. We started getting hot again after that really bad showing against Meigs in the regional semis (props to Meigs, Zy wasn't ready to go home). It sucks having this huge break before the state tournament! If we come out firing on all cylinders for 4 quarters this will be a game nobody wants to miss. If we come out slow and let them build a early lead it will be hard to battle back against this caliber of team. I really feel there are quite a few middle and west Tennessee posters that don't have a clue about the athletes we are bringing to the Boro. GCA fans will tell you this team is no joke as we battled in every single game we've played this year and it came down to last second shots for Harriman in 2 of the 4 and a crazy GCA run in the 4th quarter that went into overtime where they pulled it out in the first one, and we stole the show in the Region Championship. Proud of our guys and what they've accomplished this year. Hopefully we come out hot and wake some of these people sleeping on Harriman.

whoever gets him is getting a steal! He reminds me a lot of the kid from Meigs a few years back without taking the same number of shots he took! Another comparison in my book would be Alex Fountain. Both play around the post and are long and athletic. Fountain showed a little more bounce but I give Connor the better jump shot. Keep us posted!

my bad. I expect Greenback to be very good but baseball is a very funny sport. You are right. For the ball to be round it just doesn't bounce the right way sometimes. Pitching rules will hurt a lot of teams without depth. CAH how did Harriman look in the scrimmage? Blowout? Competitive?

This cat just doesn't understand the talent that is in that Sophomore class on the football and baseball fields. These kids from GB have been dominating since day 1 from Dixie Youth all the way up. My buddy coached all stars against them their last year of 11-12s and says they are the best Dixie team he's ever seen. Not to mention the upperclassmen they are playing with this year as well. GB baseball is going to be something else these next few years. Ole boy will eat his words at some point

This kid looks very similar to someone Grace has played 4 times this season. But we're just gonna keep the kid a secret.. Grace will be ready for him. Supporting cast may be a little better than what we've got but we'll see

Anybody have any real clarification on what exactly the pitching rules are? You better have a few arms you can throw out there each night, or expect some butt whippins if you can't keep a pitch count down. There's a lot of strategy that goes into having a pitch count and learning how to work it! It's better for the kids arms, especially with these kids arms, and I think it's better for the game! You get the teams with the most depth in arms actually meaning something instead of throwing the same 3 guys all year and them having Tommy John to help fix up their elbow.

There seems to be quite a bit of interest between a lot of the regular posters for this region so I figured let's talk about it. Seems to be quite a few solid young teams in this region. Harriman will have a decent team this year, as we bring in a 8th grade class that was solid throughout middle school but I'm sure it'll take some time before we see solid production. What's everybody else got?

Totally agree! You could tell the pressure was on Tuesday night and it was a different story tonight. However I don't think either team wants to run into Tyreke Key if they make it to state

GB baseball won't be no joke these next few years! That sophomore class ain't nothing to joke with on the diamond. But let's talk about how great of a series this Harriman Grace basketball matchup has been, not just this year but over the years altogether. A lot of really good basketball has been played between the two, and tonight was a good one to top it off. Proud of our guys for bringing that extra effort for 4 entire quarters. We're a scary team when we bring the intensity we brought tonight and play together. It was a full team effort. I'm gonna say this though, and not cause his dad gets on here and talks and stuff, but 41 from Grace needed the ball in his hands more tonight. He was on fire. I hate to see this rivalry go, but I loooooove to watch them leave.
