  1. Meigs plays 5 really good talented Sophs that will fight from tip off til last second runs off the clock! For the fans attending enjoy the battle! Will this game be live streamed anywhere!
  2. Well true! But will they go to where they are zoned or will they be recruited to the other side of town?
  3. Fire Elite 2021 10th grade looking to add players for the Spring/Summer AAU season! This team is based out of the Meigs/McMinn Co. area! This team won the 2018 US Amatuer National Tourney and finished 2nd in the 2018 Tn/Alabama D1 SE Regional Championship! Anyone interested can contact Jon Simbeck 1-423-423-3980
  4. Loudon is a long haul for the teams out of the Chatt district! When district 5 has the region it should always be hels at McMinn County!
  5. Hampton and Welch for Rhea are 2 of the best players in the area!
  6. Yes she is a difference maker! Really good player and tough competitor! Watched her play for many years in AAU and school ball! Prayers are with her!
  7. McMinn looked really good against WV! Seniors Hennessee and Burns are really good players! WV's real good PG Davis went down early with a knee injury! Hoping for the best for her she is a real good player!
  8. You are spot on with how the recruiting is done! A Coach just has to let the friendships and networking take place! Just reality! I would say 80% of schools with winning programs have at least 1 kid on the team that is zoned for another school! But that's on the parents! Instant gratification and the unwillingness to let their kids fail!
  9. Some of the Coaches you are referring to are not doing it for free! Trust me they are not giving up their time out of the goodness of their heart! Maybe a few! But that is the ugly part of AAU! You can stand anywhere in this State and swing a dead cat by its tail and hit 20 so called AAU Personal Trainers! And being a MS or HS Coach does not always mean you are qualified to teach kids the game! Touchy subject but as long as a HS Coach can Coach kids in AAU there will be recruiting!
  10. There is an easy solution! You are a TSSAA/TMSAA Coach or you are an AAU Coach! Does not matter if you are a Head Coach or a Volunteer assistant! Choose! Can't have it both ways it can only lead to cheating!
  11. So you are saying that a TSSAA school can employ a Coach that is not somehow part of the faculty or school employee?
  12. There seems to be a feeling among most of AAU Coaches that school ball is not important! But they are wrong!
  13. Just getting everyone's feelings and opinions on this subject. Since its still early into the 18/19 HS season and HS Coaches and their players are still in most cases trying to get things figured out should AAU Coaches already be contacting potential new players for next summer! I know there is no rule but morally should 14-17 year old kids who are trying to focus on the success of their HS teams even be bothered with AAU Coaches coming to their games and recruiting them! I mean give them a chance to enjoy the HS experience! As a HS Coach this would drive me crazy seeing my kids being distracted by some greedy AAU Coach who is concerned about having enough players for their summer team! To me its ok if a AAU Coach has an existing team and he or she is just contacting them to let them know of some scheduling for Spring or Summer so parents can make plans or get Vacation scheduled but going to HS games and bothering kids before games and after games just should not be done! As adults be smarter!
  14. Abbey Davis(Walker Valley) is a real good player! Fun to watch! Cleveland has a good young team and can only get better! McMinn is led by Burns and Hennessee 2 real good Seniors! E Ham has some great athletes and players but Bradley is deep! Look for Bradley 1 and EHam, McMinn, Cleveland, and WV all compete for 2-4 in no particular order!
  15. I am sure that the decisions for Tellico not to schedule Meigs and Central or visa versa were made by adults! The bottom line Tellico has a really good team! Russell is the best player in the area and they also have a great freshman group! Tellico could compete with both schools and in my opinion beat both on any given night! Its a shame that petty decisions made by adults can take away from experiences of the kids! Logistically these 3 schools should always play! Great for the players and the fans! Hopefully it will happen next year!
  16. Thank You! You seem to have info most are not privy to so please explain which player Meigs or McMinn Central took from Tellico! And please explain why a young lady and her family would decide to make this move! Since this obviously does not ever happen anywhere else!
  17. Yes curious! Meigs and McMinn Central are the premier AA schools in your area so why play Polk, Loudon, Sweetwater and Seq. but not the the other 2 the problem can't be logistics! What a great opportunity for the young ladies on all these teams since most already play on a couple of the same AAU teams! Tellico could be very competitive with both so someone is doing them an injustice by not scheduling a home and home!
  18. Meigs Co. has 5 really good athletic fundamentally strong sophomores that sometimes all start and are on the court together off and on during games! Also a good supporting group of juniors! They will be a tough out!
  19. As of today league is at 83 players sign ups will stop at 90 so only 7 spots left!
