  1. Toshiba Midwest Classic in KC is one of the Flonationals major tournaments. Probably the top tournament in midwest. Hard to blame Collins Hill.
  2. Field looks pretty tough again for the McCallie Invitational. Should be some great matchups.
  3. More information for the rankings: 103 Peck #6 - lost to B. Wittman CBHS at Blackhorse, lost 16-0 to Dalrymple from Bolton, pinned by Kyler Smith of Centenniel in 1:02 and pinned by Dakota Ream of Bradley Central 1:59. 125 Campbell Lewis also lost to Alex Ward of McCallie, but beat Moseley of Father Ryan this past weekend. 135 Tapia #6 beat #5 Adams 6-4 at the Cleveland duals. Tapia lost a decision 5-2 to Cilimberg from Franklin
  4. CHHS called off the dogs, showed some Xmas spirit--getting ready for KCI. If they wrestle Bradtmueller at 145 its a pin and the score is 48-15. Lewis lost to Ward and Johnson this weekend, so don't count on him at this point in the season (especially against Partridge or Rickman). Bottom line, CHHS proved what was projected, they walked away with this tournament and "showed" they are a national caliber team. SD put up the best fight, but McCallie and FR, who were touted before the tourament as having a chance, are not there yet.
  5. Yeah, well Bear Cat may have won a bet, but unfortunately for the TN schools participating, CHHS won the tournament easily. The only match closer than 30 was the Soddy match and that was a result of CHHS calling off the dogs and resting starters for next weeks Toshiba Classic in K.C. There was some great wrestling this weekend in chatt. It appeared that both divisions (DI and DII) showed well, FR losing to Soddy by a point and CBHS winning by a point over Soddy on Friday night. Cleveland beating both FR and CBHS and then losing to Soddy. Good luck to all of these teams the rest of the way.
  6. We'll see how your gambling record is doing on Sunday.
  7. Predicted pool winners...Tullahoma, Notre Dame, Bradley Central and Grissom. Not too much of a stretch to pick Bradley Central as the overall winner.
  8. We definitely have a bet. Do you not see the inconsistency in thinking? Your opinion appears to be that D1 is better than JV, but you are not willing to give 30 points on any of these D1 vs JV matches? I am willing to give up 30 points on CH versus the field and so what should the CH guys be calling TN wrestling? Does that sting a little? It should--which is why I suggest calling them just D1 and D2 and not belittling either. Back to the original point--I hope I am wrong on the CH vs. the field, but don't think so. As they say in Missouri---show me.
  9. I'll take your 30 points...that's about 20 point cushion off last years scores. There's always the risk that CH starts wrestling some JV, but they also usually have a lot of depth to go with the starters. No negatives vibes, but there is generally a big difference between teams ranked nationally and the rest of the field. I am all for opinions, but suggest taking a look at the CH lineup...Russell, Ferguson-Mitchell, Partridge, Rickman, Holbert, Bennett, Bradtmueller...its like an Atlanta all star team. That's kind of funny on the JV division...I am not a "D1" or "D2" guy, but don't see the point in devaluing either division. Tell you what though, if they really are the JV division, then shouldn't Soddy Daisy or Cleveland be your vote to easily take out McCallie, FR and CBHS? Will you give me 30 points on those matches? Lol.
  10. Semantics, some opinions are ridiculous, some ludicrous, some with no support or basis, others well founded, based on facts....however, you want to term it. But the likelihood of FR or McCallie beating Collins Hill is right up there with your meteor example.
  11. Yeah, well some opinions are better than others, especially if built on solid facts. My prediction, Collins Hill by 30 over anyone they wrestle at the Cleveland duals. I would love to see a TN team do better, but you have to show you compete at that level and no one has yet. I can't drink enough of the Purple (FR) or the Blue (EBE) cool aid to see this happening, but it would be great for TN wrestling if it did.
  12. Thanks for sharing...my preference would be for more of our wrestlers to get out of their backyard and go to national post season tournaments. Winning or losing to another TN wrestler won't help you recruiting wise or to get national recognition. Go place at or win NHSCA Sr, Jr, Soph nationals, USA Nationals or jump into FILA cadet. This is where TN as a state needs to demonstrate that it can compete. Quit worrying about the fact that there are two divisions. Many or most states have more than two (e.g. AL, GA, MO). Let the TN High School state champions go home and feel good about winning state, get ready for Nat'l post season comp, and we can sit here and hypothisize about who's the best on CoachT. For that matter, even if you had an all star meet with all the state champions--this would only tell you who wrestled the best match that day. Let's focus on more productive activities like national tournaments where there is more meaningful rewards on the line--college scholarships, etc.
  13. No, its a term used by "idiots" like bear cat brown iii to try and belittle the accomplishments of young men that are working hard to accomplish something special, like winning a state championship in any division. Though the brackets are smaller in Division 2, they quality of the finals is usually about the same (sometimes better, sometimes worse). It always amazes me, especially in our society, why someone would try to reduce the accomplishments of young people, when most are playing video games and/or doing much less productive activities. I suggest that instead we support wrestling in TN (which needs all of our support) instead of punching away at other divisions that were created by the TSSAA, not by the athletes. I guess if Bear Cat Brown iii lived in Iowa, he would be making fun of the youth in A or AA instead of Division 2--though many of these smaller divisions wrestlers in Iowa have gone on to win NCAA titles, etc. (kind of like Jordan Leen from Division 2 here in TN did). Bear Cat Brown, either crawl back under your rock or before wrestling starts-go become a fan of basketball, volleyball, anything and take your venom/poison with you.
