Preseason ‘25 TSSAA gold ball predictions.

I picked Upperman in my selection and stated the Hume-Fogg as more of partialness. Lol there are always sleepers no doubt. But these two are your favorites excited to see how the season unfolds. -

If they are as solid as you this is a convenient year for a Tellico fan to feel good. Weakest class in Tennessee basketball and weakest 2A has been in maybe 10 years. Love to see em in the boro this year but gotta do better than district semis and region quarters to do that. -

I think you need to eat your breakfast your blood sugar must be low. Lol -
Bingo. Ole Brooks never does well when talent is not lopsided for Indians. Congrats to Marion huge statement win.

170lb standing in the rain. Lol

On team you have 2 power 4 guys. Although 1 is hurt. And I think Brooks, QB, and 1-3 others could all play at the next level on scholarship. And you’ve had 2 other groves sign Power 4 in last 3 years (I know one didnt workout) and the RB from 2023 that is at Indiana State. I could go on. Bottomline no one in 2A has had talent come through their program like that since 2022. Many coach's could do what he’s done which is beat up on the Houston County types and then struggle with 1-2 opponents they play a year that have actual talent. An actual good coach beats the teams with equal or slightly less talent.

After getting a look yesterday against GP I think we can all agree Heritage has the same problem they had last year. Terrible guard play and they are slow. Lost to East and WC last year in region/substate who both got smoked by 30 at state. They will make a run into region or substate and get beat by a team with speed. Should have stuck with the Cobras lol -
Lots of talent plain and simple. ER has always had good athletes, benefiting greatly from a few families with great genes but never in a bunch like this and usually had to go through tough private schools in the past. 4 power 4 guys with other D1 and several small ball college guys in just a few years and a ton of solid pieces. If Brooks can’t get a gold ball with this much talent than its a failure in my book. Some people will be impressed with the wins and playoff runs but that will be under achieving and no excuses should matter. Most 2A teams don’t have this kind of talent come through in 30 years much less 3.

Have to agree with you here. I caught some of ER vs WH heritage who has one of the leading passers in the state. They were causing havoc every play, he was seeing ghosts and looked like he hadn't played a snap all year by the 2nd quarter. Marion saw that tape and others like it and will try and scheme accordingly. This is going to be a fun matchup.

Thats what Ive just heard. Apparently one of their best players the past couple years. With him, 6’10’’ Coles, and some formidable pieces. I would have to say WH Heritage will be a contender in 2A. -

Don't think they care enough to cry and/or recruit lol -
Middle TN high school sports. Have close friends that have been ER faithfuls many years before they moved the high school off East Rob Road lol and they’ll even tell ya the last couple of years has been very talented no doubt but also ridiculous to watch most nights with the constant complaining of officials, after whistle banter, flapping gums at opposing team, undisciplined penalties, etc than they ever remember. I see it as more of an indictment of the coach not the players.
-
Hard to root for ER when they’ve been the most undisciplined and arrogant team in 2A the past 3-4 years.
-
Would love to see Marion send them ER boys home packing for the year but they are going to have to bring their best, nothing short of it.
-
I think the Jackets have found some good late game confidence, they desperately needed. This matchup will be a fun watch. I’ll take the yellow wasps by a score
-
It’s definitely not…. that region in 90’s-00’s was probably toughest in the state for 3A over that stretch. It’s no easy task now either but its not consistently any tougher

Speaking of West side of state. I know FACS will be solid as always. Do you know if ECS is returning a solid group? -

A different take nice to see.. what makes you think they get past PCA this year after last year’s loss to PCA, all be it a dog fight, with everything pointing towards PCA being even better. -
Kirk was here a long time and did a great job. Many schools don’t have State championships in FB although they did have a runner up in ‘04. I stated originally they were never a powerhouse but doesn’t mean GB doesn’t have tradition, they were a tough and formidable opponent for many years. Up until recent as stated. Made the playoffs every year but once from 1994 to 2010…with 2 Mr Football’s while there were still privates in 3A and at a time when this area was good as any area in the state with Spfld, WH, East Robertson, Portland etc. As for 100+ years go check how good GB was in the 50’s and 60’s before TSSAA playoff existed specifically early 60’s… outscored opponents like 651-47 in a two year stretch and won 24 straight games. And were something like 90-23 in that 12 year stretch.

Play the Powerball you’ll have better odds than them boys from Sparta getting a gold ball this year. -

😂 it is odd that like 3 schools in A bring in all this top talent just to beat up on Ezell Harding and MTCS 3x a year. -
God I hope not. He’s a multi-gen GB guy, was a teacher/assistant coach there for a good bit then took the HC position at Heritage for a few years. Left WHH to step down to be OC at Liberty because being HC at Heritage was “personally, hard on me” as if thats not the easiest job there is they had low expectations and mostly transplants lol they need a guy that doesn't care who’s players Daddy/Mom are and politics etc and just cares about putting the best kids out there and being tough and competitive. So no good ole boy Dickerson is a smart guy but mostly a short prick and the opposite of whats really needed but honestly he’s probably on their radar already 😆

The OC?

Absolutely more accurate. That silly rankings of SM have Baylor 11th in the state (top 50 national team). They would beat the team 1 spot lower (.19) Nashville Christian by 50 😂 regardless Go Jackets, upsets happen every week.
