  1. I have a family member that played basketball for GMS, and all of her home games were held in the GMS gym instead of Hal Henard. The point that Lou is making is that Hal Henard's gym was built for the GHS teams to use instead of GMS since they already have an adequate gym.
  2. Perkins.. Malone.. Thornton.. Rambo.. Epperson.. Renner Isn't Rambo from Washington County? That's one player that's zoned for Crockett and not one of the Greene County schools.
  3. University High plays their home games at Brooks Gym (ETSU), and that basketball court is larger than any other high school court that I've seen. So I don't think there's a standard size application to high school playing courts applied here in TN, but I could be wrong. I thought CDHS' old gym (now the middle school) was a bigger court than the other local schools as well. It sure seemed that way when I was running on it anyway!
  4. I haven't mentioned any coach, so why did you direct that statement to me?
  5. I was at the game too. I would say it was an emotional roller coaster for both teams tonight. Can we please get off the sour grapes about Logan now? He's a high school kid, so let's please move on and let him do the same.
  6. You are correct. #25 for CDHS didn't even play the entire first half against Unicoi County and none in the 2nd half.
  7. Actually, Maryville ran the clock out instead of scoring when they reached 45 points. That's all I have been trying to say. Science Hill scored their only 7 points with 11 seconds to go in the game; I don't know how long Science Hill's starters played, but I will find out. I also heard that Maryville could've scored 100 on Science Hill, but chose to not do so.... Now I'm signing off...my team lost last night in a heartbreaker...
  8. Perhaps what Maryville did is unique to their team then??? I think "full gusto" means that you're still attemtping to score and keep your opponent from scoring at full speed. Evidently Maryville has figured out a way to not keep humiliating their opponent while still building future players; at least last night against Science Hill they did....
  9. Again, what Maryville did against Science Hill was run out the clock instead of scoring more points. What CD did against Unaka was not even what I was referring to. That, as in many high school games, is simply one team being way better than the other...obviously like GHS is against many teams they play. Another G'ville supporter brought up the fact that CD never beats anybody in a lopsided score, when actually they did against Unaka. Anyway, you don't understand so it's a moot point to say anything else. I wasn't at the GHS game last night, but I heard about blocked punts, interceptions, etc., and assumed GHS was still playing with full gusto. Maybe I was wrong and they weren't laying it on their opponent...who knows????
  10. Actually, CD did blow out Unaka and they pulled their starters before halftime and didn't put them back in. You still don't understand my point, so I'm giving up. Again, like I've always heard...never argue with a fool!
  11. Evidently, Maryville held off from scoring to show some mercy to Science Hill. If Greeneville chooses not to do this, that's completely between them and their opponent. But I guess Maryville showed that it can be done...I mean not running the score up can be done and you can still look like and be a chamption...in case you didn't understand what I was saying...
  12. Thank you for the information. I thought it was pretty one-sided, now I have proof.
  13. The penalty difference, I believe, was a major factor in this game. No one has answered yet on the numbers, but it had to be significantly different. I only recall one penalty against SN (holding I believe) in the 3rd or 4th quarter, but I completely lost count of the ones against CD. Can that be correct? I also saw a pass that SN was credited with a catch for that "clearly" bounced off the ground...it's all about perspective. You see it in your teams favor and someone else sees it in their teams favor, so you can go on and on with that, and that will never change. I will say I was surprised at how many points SN gave up. I'd never seen them play, but with being ranked in the state I didn't think they would give up 41 points to CD. I think that may have been a surprise to a few! I am very proud of the Black Knights! Good luck the rest of the way...
  14. Can anyone answer this yet????? I am really curious about this. Thanks!!!
  15. Can someone please tell me the number of penalties and penalty yards for both Chuckey-Doak and Sullivan North in tonight's game?
  16. From what I heard about the Maryville/Science Hill game tonight, Maryville basically ran the clock out to keep from scoring before halftime. Just sayin.... (I don't usually post on other schools' threads, but this one caught my attention.)
  17. Really? I didn't realize that colleges send them out to athletes with no potential. I guess I learned something new today! Thanks for the info!
  18. I agree with you Lou! That pick by the QB on defense was awesome! The Knights looked great at times, but also were their own worst enemy a few times with penalties and turnovers. Thankfully, they managed to pull out the WIN! Now on to round 2 at Sullivan North. Go Black Knights!!!
  19. I like it! And, good luck to your Rebels tonight...actually, maybe all of our local teams will be victorious tonight. Wouldn't that be something???? It could happen...
  20. OMG!!! Lou Holtz never said he was a Greeneville player! LOL!!! He was referring to the fact that a player on GHS probably shouldn't be worried about a smaller 3A school like CD that has basically no chance against a team like GHS!
  21. Yes, I got that part, but my question still remains unanswered...why pick on a 17 year old kid from CDHS that isn't even the one that "hearsay" said posted the Facebook stuff to begin with??? Anyway, let's move on...never argue with a fool... Congratulations to Julius Montgomery for being the Channel 11 Player of the Week! He deserved it after Friday night's game against SGHS! Way to go Julius and way to go Black Knights!!!
  22. Sorry, I'm confused now...is he the only kid talkin' smack? From any school in NE TN???? Really?
  23. Again, is he the only kid that does this in high school sports...especially football??????? I had heard about some other CDHS players and GHS players doing this too...why aren't you singling any of those guys out??? Just curious as to the reason for this towards this kid....
  24. What "checks" has he written that makes you feel that way? As far as I can tell, most high school players talk smack...and they don't always win their games...is this new??? If that's the only kid that does this, a lot has changed since I played high school sports!
