By the way, and I'm not making excuses but I know Ooltewah was at least without there primary setter (don't know who else might have been missing) because she (Gretchen Higdon) was crowned homecoming queen last night at the football game. 10/02/07 CHATT AREA RESULTS: Ooltewah defeated Red Bank in 4 games to win the District regular season title with a perfect 6-0 record. Scores were:22-25, 25-20, 25-17, 27-25. In another match, OHS also defeated Baylor 25-15, 14-25, 25-20. Next weeks district playoffs, beginning Monday at Soddy Daisy, will feature Ooltewah vs. Chatt Central and Red Bank vs. the host Trojans.

Yes, you did! I believe it was 2 years ago during the Mid-Tenn Classic at Blacman....I mean after. My bad, it was her Dad that I was talking to "during" the tournamnet.

Speaking of Cookeville, have you heard anything about that middle they had last year, I think she went to Carson-Newman, is she playing much this year??

I don't know that much about them but I believe they are in the same District as ND and ER. I think that both ER and ND have beaten them this year and I know they played in the TN Tandem tournament and I don't believe they won a match.

Could it be Chattanooga Christian School??

I have to say, with some experience having called lines for about 7 years until my daughter graduated last year, that calling lines is not an exact science. It involves "judgement" and even if you are paying very close attention to everything you should, you can still make mistakes. I always prided myself on making the best call possible, as quickly as possible, no matter whether it was for or against my team. At the same time, I can't honestly say I got it right 100% of the time. Having said that I only remember one person who I ever thought may have made calls in favor of his team but at the same time I would never feel comfortable being able to say "abolutely" that that was the case. Bottom line, it's not easy and unless you are in the "exact" same positon as the person calling the lines, you can't see things "exactly" the same way.

According to the chattanoogan article, it appears they loss to Red Bank in the Silver finals. As far as their other results, I don't know. Sorry about that.
