  1. Are you sure you have an even 60? For the purposes of a message board, I think S4L was metaphorically speaking (we have more like 39 as reported on the prepxtra roster.) but make no doubt about it, you guys are a site to behold. With 19 players playing college ball, you have it going for sure.
  2. I believe the AD is releasing the schedule soon. Stayed tuned; the BCB is a great venue. Great game for sure.
  3. MT, I can tell you this. ECS strikes a cord in my soul everytime I think of them. They have a history that deserves respect. We had to be what you described above just to stay in the game. We were very fortunate last night. Thank you.
  4. Well said S4L

Thank you Sir. Which webb alum am i speaking to?

  5. D2A, its an issue that will not be answered on this board. If it makes you feel any better, look at our non-regional games. Last year we opened up with the #1 team in the state. The next week it was #2. We started this year with Aloca. Local schools around Knoxville (with the exception of Catholic) will not play us on a consistent basis. Too good for some; too big for others; blah, blah, blahblah. Truth is our depth is very, very sparce. Just like in "300", it doesnt matter how big and bad you may be when you are dealing with numbers. But if you want to play 48 minutes with someone's best 11 against our best 11, I would put some good money down. At the end of the day we are what we are. I miss the McCallies, the Baylors, MBA's and the BGA (back to us in 2013). Fun games; great memories. I dont miss Ensworth (but who doesnt). I am not coach, just a fan. Dont want to say stupid stuff like "hook up your chinstrap and let's go!!",so I won't. But I am pretty pumped about my Spartans so I will just let it go at that.
  6. See if this link takes you to that game: http://www.playonsports.com/channels/tennessee/events/45801
  7. Agreed ExSpartan. Harding was the real deal. I think Coach Meske said they were the toughest first game in playoffs since he's been at Webb.
  8. Wow Dads. This is the best thread. Thanks.
  9. Agreed on the above. But that can be said about any of the other three. They are all formidable opponents.
  10. I bet you wear green too. See you in Spartanburg.
  11. We play DCA on Friday at Faust Field. Take a gander at www.tssaanetwork.com/webbschool. I am sure they will be a handful.
  12. Preach it, Brother SoonerSteve! Preach it! Hope you did not misunderstand my comments. My ringing edorsement is for DII football hardware, not for any particular team. Unless it is the Spartans.....
  13. Preach it, Brother Bucksfan! Preach it!
  14. My picks would not be SEC. That would be a disaster for E.
  15. D2A, would not disagree with you or Indian on those conferences. I would add Southern to that too. Jsut for fun, my list and off the top of my head-- Presbyterian. And their may be another in the Big South and the Patriot League. And I also put emphasis on coaching too.
  16. Not hyperbole. Take a casual glance of those in the FCS and see from where I'm a-coming ; )
  17. I recall playing BGA way back when; I dont recall domination. It has always been a good game. Maybe things have changed over the last 4 years. I do think we lose sight that Muhammad Ali and Sugar Ray Leonard were both champions. One was not lesser than the other regardless of size. Its no fun for most folks (unless you are sadistic) to crush someone that is never suppose to be able to compete. And Ensworth could probably beat certain NCAA D1 teams because they are just that good.
  18. Agreed on the above. I see/read plenty of middle/east region football. Would love to hear more from our friends in the west.
  19. Aaron Blance--Cumberland University Jim Dolinak--Wofford Brewer Congelton-- 2011 Mr. Football was recruited but would not surprise me if he accepts a lax scholarship somewhere
  20. Another good reason to stay jacked up for FRA. Tradition, tradition, tradition.
  21. I know that was a typo, but it sure was funny! And to be the "most neutral", "most center" of the state, Murfreesboro is the place to be. Regardless, I just want the Spartans back in the mix!
  22. Somewhere, somehow, this is what would be ideal to achieve. The playoff bracket you show would be very exciting and appropriate for the class of school.
  23. Great food for thought. Thanks. I also believe budgets issues because of travel requirements keep some privates where there are. IMO
  24. Two privates in this area Christian Academy of Knoxville (CAK) and Grace Christian. And I may have missed them, but there is Webb Bell Buckle. I like the idea of rethinking Division II and with the list that could be accomplished for parity in the smaller schools. But at the end of the day, those on the size bubble will have to deal with "playing up" into the true powerhouse teams for their respective divisions. Aside from the complaints of recruiting, playing local teams with the nonregional games played against the other privates could have some appeal to many. And I have not thought it all the way through, but for a fact some of the regular season 3-4 hour bus trips would not be missed
