  1. Congratulations to both Oakland and Blackman for great seasons, but let me say, tonight's game was disgraceful from a sportsmanship perspective. I couldn't count the number of unsportsmanlike penalties both teams received. Way too much trash talking going on. And it will cost Oakland next week against Maryville, losing the reigning defensive player of the year from 7AAA in the first quarter. Also, I know that Jennings was upset, but everyone on Blackman's team was upset because of the loss. Shake hands and don't let the last moment be by yourself on the sideline. You are better than this. Oakland played a great defensive game tonight, and ate up the clock with long sustained drives. Oakland forced two turnovers that I can remember and held Blackman on the one yard line for four plays. Blackman had chances, but the WR's really did not come through tonight as a whole. Too many drops on really important downs. Can't wait for next week. Let's go Oakland!
  2. Better Offense (Blackman) vs. Better Defense (Oakland) Perhaps Special teams game is the difference in this one?
  3. Blackman dominated this game. I thought i would be closer, but I was wrong. Congratulations Riverdale on a good season. Already looking forward to next week's game.
  4. No. Starting QB this year is a transfer from Cane Ridge.
  5. I think Blackman wins this game, but I think Riverdale puts up a good fight. Riverdale has been improving throughout the season. Riverdale's #1 WR is a good matchup against Blackman's secondary. He will open the field up for the other receivers. Riverdale's QB will scramble (and he'll need to) in order to make some plays. Blackman's offense should put up 30-45 points again. I'm looking forward to watching this game on a cold Friday night. Blackman 42 Riverdale 28
  6. I think we tried to run our flag on your side that night, and you rebels stole our flag.
  7. Butch Jones showed up and took in the first quarter of the game. Jauan Jennings threw for 3 first quarter touchdowns.
  8. Hoover scores TD on another 3rd down.
  9. Big play coming up....Hoover has a 3rd and 4 to go. 2:40 left in the game.
  10. Blackman score again 28-20. Extra point is blocked.
  11. Can we get the clock to work guys?
  12. Blackman recovers fumble on kickoff. Down 14 in Hoover territory.
  13. 28-14 Hoover. Hoover set to receive kickoff and about minutes left.
  14. Blaze down 21-7. But they have the ball in Hoover territory.
  15. Hoover 7 - Blackman 0 After Blackman's first possession stalls, Hoover marches down field easily and scores.
  16. With the game just started, this pregame must be on tape delay.
  17. There is a live pregame show going on right now with a camera on the field at http://www.nfhsnetwork.com/events/hoover-high-school-hoover-al/dfae817cde
  18. Congrats to LeVergne on making the playoffs.
  19. I heard Cumberland Gap dressed only 25 players.
  20. My take on the two AAA games tonight: Clarksville 4 - Collierville 1 Collierville matched up with Clarksville in terms of speed much better than Oakland from the Quarters. They pressured Clarksville early from the left side, but could not get many shots on goal throughout the game. #3 for Collierville, a good technical player with speed and power scored Collierville's only goal from some distance over the keepers head. Clarksville's speed, passing game and just gut determination was again fun to watch. #14, a forward for Clarksville, is a tough matchup for anyone. And she will give Houston some problems in the final. She seemingly goes 100% the whole goal and never lacks for stamina. The back line did really well for Clarksville. Overall, except for the first fifteen minutes, Clarksville was dominate throughout. Houston 4 - Ravenwood 1 Playerscoach, you are correct, #16 was outstanding. I still contend that #18 for Ravenwood is pretty darn good too. Houston shell shocked Ravenwood early with multiple goals. The first half was all Houston. Credit Ravenwood with staying in it though and not giving up. With it 4-1, Ravenwood had one shot go off the cross bar, and another one with a scrum where Houston Keeper made an outstanding save, and a defender was in the right place on the deflection shot (although many fans contended that she hand balled the shot to make the save). While the game score was lopsided, the intensity was great and Ravenwood was very close to getting back into it. Ravenwood outplayed Houston in the 2nd half. Houston had tremendous speed up front with their forwards. The play went primarily through the left forward (can't remember her number). Ravenwood's back four had quite a time trying to match Houston's speed. Houston's keeper played outstanding. And Houston's back four played outstanding too. Thoughts on the final: Forwards: Push Midfield: Edge Clarksville Defense: Edge Houston Keeper: Edge Houston I'll stay with my original pick: Houston over Clarksville with a 3-2 score prediction.
