  1. Looks like J3 and the boys from Southwind got the best of Science Hill. J3 had 20 points, 15 boards, and 7 blocks. Wins the battle with Shannon Hale as the 2 best sophomores in the state squared off.
  2. Guys I have been keeping up with this tourney from West TN. I have seen Southwind this year and they are a tough team. Science Hill has been blowing people out though. That kind of scares me but it may be lack of competition. Southwind has had close scores throughout the year but that may be because the talent in the Memphis area. Southwinds lone loss came at the hands of undefeated Bossier City, LA squad by 3 points. Southwind is very fast and has height to go along with it. Their guard play is good but the X-Factor is J3. Jonathan Williams is a do it all 6'9 point forward. He can literally play all 5 positions on the floor. Hale vs. Williams will be the top class of 2013 matchup of the year in the state of Tennessee.
  3. alright that would be really appreciated. there is no contact on the battle of the best website and the commercial appeal has nothing either. this is the most talented showcase memphis has had in a long time, someone is dropping the ball.
  4. i think it is at elma roane fieldhouse. can anyone contact the event department at the college and find out?
  5. Heard anything about the schedule terop?
  6. This was a good tournament win by the Choctaws but the post made the Miami Senior team sound amazing when the truth is they are an average at best team in Florida. Dyer County should have won the tournament and they did.
  7. Can any of the Memphis guys on here find out the schedule to this event?
  8. I'm a Liberty guy and to be honest the first Liberty team that won state could have hung with BA but would've gotten beat by 10 or 12 points. The '07 Liberty squad against the '06 BA team would have been a knockdown, dragout fight to the finish.
  9. I agree with you 100% that team was an outstanding team.
  10. Those kids played well together, something Melrose doesn't be seem to be doing this year. The 07 Liberty team was a crowd favorite that year in Ft. Myers. The whole gym was wanting Liberty to pull off the unthinkable and beat the GIGANTIC Mater Dei team. Mater Dei's starting lineup that game was 6'2, 6'7, 6'9, and two 6'10's. Liberty lost that game 85-80 and let the whole nation know they deserved the hype. Melrose hasn't done that at all this season.
  11. I agree with you 100%. I believe coaching is killing Melrose. I know they were a great team last year but I don't think that they were as good as they should have been. Talent is there but coaching and lack of toughness from Thomas' supporting cast is missing
  12. The Liberty 07 team was ranked 13 in Sports Illustrated final ranking and they played a tougher schedule than Melrose did last year.
  13. Melrose lost a close one to Chicago Whitney Young 38-37, beat Ft. Myers 74-45, lost to Dr. Krop 43-41, and lost their final game today to Riverside Academy 66-56. I know that this is the most competitive tournament in the country but I really hoped they would do better than this. Adonis Thomas had a good overall tournament scoring 16, 25, 8, and 30 respectively. I have seen them twice this year and he had to carry this team on his shoulders just to keep them in games. Thomas really needs someone to step up and help him out on a consistent basis for this team to be able to defend their state title.
  14. Bad players huh? They are all already 4-star recruits on the national scene. Hubbs has the potential to be a 3 or 4 star recruit also but to say any of the players mentioned are bad players is crazy.
  15. I saw the Nichols kid earlier this month at Liberty and I just don't see him being better than Hubbs. Crawford is also behind Hubbs in my eye. Crawford was actually kind of a disappointment to me the two times I have seen him this year.
  16. Actually, I believe my opinion is worth as much as anyone elses. I have personally seen all of these kids play and yes I believe Hubbs is the 4th best player in the state in the class of 2013. He has slightly above average handles, a good shot out to 20-22 feet, and his athleticism is top notch. I wasn't knocking Hubbs when I said there were 3 players better than him but the post asked if he was the best sophomore in the state and I stated my opinion.
  17. You say JCM is down and I heard the same thing but they in back to back nights took South Side and North Side down to the wire. I've seen Liberty, South Side, North Side, and Bolivar play and I didn't think they were too terribly down.
  18. Andre Hollins may be having the best year out of all the players in Tennessee so far. He is averaging right at 26 points a game but if you look at his scoring outputs against the tough games this season it is incredible. 39 against Nashville Overton, 33 against Melrose, 46 against Findlay Prep, 29 against Huntsville Lee, 38 against Clark County Ky, 26 against East, and 33 against Ridgeway. He has had a breakout year so far. Yankees was right about Kendall Anthony and Robert Hubbs as well. Kendall Anthony has had a monster year as well averaging anywhere from 23-29 points a game. I have seen him numerous times this year and he always finds a way to get the ball in the hole. Robert Hubbs is a jumping jack and he can fill it up as well. I watched him score 31 against Soldan High School from St.Louis in the Eiffel Tower Shooutout. Knocked down 4 threes to go along with probably 5 dunks. The kid is special and if he adds a little weight could be a Mid Major-High D1 prospect.
  19. I'm pretty sure Melrose and ACD play on the 28th. I won't be able to make that day but I'm really trying to find out the schedule for the 29th.
  20. Does anyone have the schedule for this event?
  21. Hubbs is a great player but he has at least three guys who are better than him at this point in the 2013 class. Johnathan "J3" Williams (Southwind), Nick King (Memphis East), and Shannon Hale (Science Hill) are the players who at this point are better than him, in my opinion.
  22. The Dyer County game would have been a lot better if the refs of the game didn't try to screw the Soldan squad. Dyer County was a better team in my opinion but the game was called very one sided. The refs got way too involved in this game. Dyer County is a very deep team. They remind me a lot of the Liberty team that beat Thad Young and Mitchell in '06 although not quite as good.
