  1. Tn kids can enter Ga AAU and USA tournaments but no TN kid is allowed to enter a GA regional or state tournament. There is a reason for this just like all of the surrounding states to TN, they hold a state tournament to see who is the best kid from their state. The whole point of holding "open" tournaments is to allow the greater level of competition on the local and out of state level. The TN AAU really dropped the ball on this one and I hope that if it is put to a vote this year they let TN residents have a say, because I am pretty sure this rule and the contract that no one but out of state coaches got to see "that goes against every rule on the website" is thrown right out of the window.
  2. We took the week off then will start freestyle and greco on monday I know there is a tournament here the same day "the ironman" but I still think we are going to try and go to the TOC. I will ask if anyone else wants to go and let you know as soon as possible.

  4. I have one maybe two going let me know how many more you need for a team and I can ask around.
  5. Thats awesome Josh I believe this will be our first ever Freestyle and greco tournamnet. We will be there for sure.
  6. My name is Mike Tuminski and my wifes name is Rachael the and madmike comes from a nickname my mother gave me as a small kid and has just kinda stuck. As far as the rules THEY are posted online and it says nothing of a contract signed with people that dont want to compete in their state. And if you read the title of the exact rule I am speaking of it is listed as Out Of State wrestlers, it is under the section that says 2011 Handbook changes. I am done arguing with people about the subject unfortunately no one knew about contract or the rules that were written there. I wish you and your wrestler all the best of luck and hope that the sport keeps growing.
  7. Yeah that isnt right I can see at a open tournament combining weight classes but states are different. Do they make these annual meetings public? I have heard that changes will be made in the future over and over but they have the ability to make it right I guess we will see what happens. Either way we will go to spring youth nationals and compete. And more so I will continue to do everything in my power to help the Tn AAU get better this is awesome area for wrestling and I honestly think that we are headed in the right direction. I am going to try to do more within the wrestling community and would love to be able to voice my opinion at the annual meeting.
  8. I have met some pretty tough keyboard bully's over the years but you are really intimidating. You go on and on showing your intelligence and ability to not make a valid point.
  9. Look you can keep talking about a contract all you want if there is a out side of state contract it should be posted along with the official rules on the website. I dont care where he lives he didnt qualify because he didnt compete in the required amount of tournaments IN THE RULES. Researching is simple enough it doesnt matter if the results get posted to track or not if you enter a tournament it is posted on your profile with no results, which is the case with 2 of the top 100 tournaments. And saying I am a cry baby this is coming from someone hiding behind a alias on a public forum real brave friend. The fact is the rules got broken and if kids cant compete in their state tournaments then dont call it a State tournament because thats not what it is. Tn is really coming a long way with wrestling but take a look at states that are so far ahead of us how many kids from out of state compete in their states? The answer is 0, every one of our surrounding states offer plenty of tournaments that are opens and if you live across the border then Ga's states were much closer than our's was to travel to. I dont blame you for wanting to compete in Tn there is some great kids here and like I said the wrestling program is coming a long way.
  10. Here are the rules written plain as day for the whole world to see not something we made up and I will give you the link also http://www.tnyouthwrestling.com/documents/AAU%20Handbook%20Changes.pdf F. Out of State Wrestlers: Wrestlers who live with in 50 miles of the state boarder and who are members of a recognized Tennessee Team/Club must compete in a minimum of three (3) Tennessee tournaments to be eligible to compete in regional and qualify for state. I am not saying that the kids in the midget group aren't tuff or didnt have good records, but we attended every Top 100 and finished with all 1st places except where according to the rules lost a questionable match to a kid that didnt qualify to be there. This would be no different than a kid lying about his age then the AAU saying oh well we didnt catch it and there is nothing we can do. I am done arguing about this The AAU let one of Tn's kids down.
  11. And I agree we actually wrestled the kid at the beginning of the season and my son pinned him in the second but the fact is that according to AAU rules he did not qualify to be there.
  12. No the kid from Va lives in Rural retreat which is 61 miles driving but less than 50 as the crow flys. His club is not a Tn club but is based in Bristol Va and he has only competed in 1 tournament before regionals. I made everyone from AAU aware of the rules violations to which their reply was there was a great injustice to your son but what is done is done. This isnt the case if he was given the points that he earned he would be the Tn top100 belt winner this weekend but because of his one second place finish he went from 1st in the standings to 7th. And I understand that the points are different for states and regionals but My son still has the best record with all 1st place finishes and one second than anyone else in the midget group.I am really let down by all this we entered a wrestling tournament every weekend that one was available in Tn and every top 100 not just the required 3 locals and the rules have not been followed and there is still a chance to make it right and the AAU has chose to overlook it and said they will try to correct it in the future.
  13. I have heard both sides of the argument but I am still upset. We hold "open" tournaments all year long to let in kids from any state and not one of our surrounding states let kids from Tn compete in their state tournament. My son lost the championship match to kid from Va and I understand that he should have done more to win. I think one of our assistant coaches upset the ref for voicing his opinion after the ref gave the kid points for a reversal even though his leg was hooked and he never gained control, then in the end my son should have gotten 2 back points that the ref didnt give to him and he refused to watch the three videos we had that showed that he waved his arm 2 times. But all that aside the rules on Team Tennessee's website say.... Out of State Wrestlers: Wrestlers who live with in 50 miles of the state boarder and who are members of a recognized Tennessee Team/Club must compete in a minimum of three (3) Tennessee tournaments to be eligible to compete in regional and qualify for state. The kid in question is from a team based in Va not Tn and secondly has only competed in one Tn tournament and was still allowed to compete in regional's and states. I brought this to the attention of everyone I could think of and they agree that it was wrong but don't intend on changing anything. This in itself is upsetting but my son was also inline to get the top 100 belt and still holds the highest place finishes of any kid in the midget bracket but got bumped all the way down to fifth place. Like I said the state championship is one thing but my son TN resident and who has competed in every top 100 tournament not just the required ones will receive nothing for his efforts. This is something that the AAU could still correct but said they feel there was a great injustice done and are very sorry. Like I said I agree that bringing kids in from outta state brings a higher level of competition but dont call it the TN state tournament when it isnt.
  14. I agree with 100% not only would them posting the results on track boost their track wrestling profile but its nice to use as a reference when getting prepaired for a upcoming match. My son is working hard to get the belt and I to wish they would update trackwrestling. They have the results of the Top 100 in Pigeon Forge posted on Team Tennessee's website they should be able to move the stats over.
