He's fumbled this year?

You think Soddy could've done better in the I? Personally, I think their dink and dunk passing game is exactly why they're 2-1. He doesn't have mashers and he doesn't have true edge speed. So he creates space by alignment and routes and asks his average players to secure the catch for 6 yard gains. Very smart, IMO.

No shame in trying. If more gave it a shot, all programs would be better.

Did the basketball player quit?

If I read the write-up correctly, the offense had a couple of costly fumbles and the punting team gave up a touchdown. Sounds to me like the Owls are young and talented, but most importantly learning. IF they came out of it healthy and still united, this could be just what they needed to grow up before conference play. They've certainly got my interest.

Though it was Brainerd, the Owls showed a lot of improvement in problem areas from scrimmages. Very positive steps for a young defense.

Unicoi's FR and SOs stayed on fire too.

I believe some Brainerd players were antagonizing from behind the bench. Not making excuses, but I'm pretty sure that got the ball rolling. Things will be ironed out (flattened) Friday around 9 PM

Unicoi turned the corner last year after a years of work. Not a powerhouse, but no longer a pushover. And that says a lot considering what they have to play with.

Excellent surface from all I've asked. Took some getting used to, but as good a carpet as you can play on. Always felt like GP had some of the best facilities for a mid size schools. Dolly's money does y'all right

True words, Harley. Pittman will be a load this year for teams their size. ThevQB moves better than he gets credit for.

So you're implying that those lessons wouldn't be learned at Cloudland or Avery? The game of football does most of the teaching when it's played right.

I can remember when kids played for their community, not just themselves or a team and that was good enough for everyone. It's not like these kids are going to get a full ride on athletics, so this "better meant" talk is garbage.

NE TN football fans need not carry on about how unstoppable a certain player is- Fulton and anyone else West of Greeneville doesn't need to be poked until playoffs. I've seen many "great" RBs get swallowed up because they saw speed for the first time and the OL crumbled.

South Greene edges Hampton for the title.
