  1. The same coach who made a play off run two years ago?
  2. CoachT is a lot more enjoyable when posters speak with the kind of class that I've read on the last two pages of this topic.
  3. I was going to type the exact same thing. Thanks, Ghost, for beating me to the punch.
  4. Great, educated response. And I admit I got carried away with my 5-6 D1 prospects comment. I just get frustrated with the lack of perspective from some folks who have never experienced the level of athleticism and raw talent in Memphis and Nashville. Heck even Murfreesboro and Chattanooga seem to produce some naturally bigger, faster, stronger guys than around here year in and out. Communities, parents, and players are too quick to think a local hero from NET is a perfect fit for State University- when he just isn't athletically capable of ever playing at that level. Then they blame the coaches or media or anything other than reality.
  5. I thought Doak was pretty big and physical and Unicoi really put a beating on them. I haven't seen them or Hampton, but I wouldn't be expecting a stomping. JMO
  6. Memphis has more athletes recognized because it has ATHLETES. Why do you think college coaches flock there to recruit? You all are delusional if you think it's because the head coaches there have a much better 'system'. I love NE Tennessee and the football here, but don't kid yourselves into thinking the high schools here have kids on that level-- not even close. The gold balls reside mostly in the east because of better coaching. Think of the best, most recognized athletes from NET and consider where they end up playing. I promise you most Memphis city school teams have 5-6 players that get a D1 look, even if the team is horrid.
  7. Scott County @ Claiborne= Scott, but I'll admit I don't know much about them South Greene @ North Greene= North Greene, but close early-- those Rebs still have fight in them Gibbs @ Grainger= Gibbs, by a lot Unaka @ West Greene= West Greene gets on track while Unaka has a few more derail Oneida @ Cumberland Gap= Oneida by a bunch Franklin County @ Greeneville= Greeneville, all will be right in the world of green and white
  8. Chuckey Doak @ Claiborne= Doak, they will bounce back hard West Greene @ Grainger = Grainger, I want to pick the Buffs but I think they're pretty beat up right now South Greene @ Cumberland Gap= Cumberland Gap, SG will get better each game but not good enough yet Bonus Game- North Greene @ Unaka= North Greene, Unaka is licking wounds and NG is way UP
  9. Not bad for a newcomer! Hope I keep the momentum
  10. Thank you do much for the report. It sounds like CD found some areas they need to work on to enter conference play. I hope they are still healthy and now more hungry than ever. Unicoi must be better than anyone thought they'd be, too. Go BRAC!
  11. I'd like to read a conversation about what happened in Unicoi?! Anyone go tonight- the score sounds like it must've been an interesting one
  12. Always like your take on things, GCSports. What makes you think Doak has it? I don't think Unaka was much of a measuring stick, but I was impressed with the way CD reloaded.
  13. No dog in this fight, but that's as good of an olive branch as you can get on CoachT. Back to football it is, I hope.
  14. Well it was a very interesting week in the area, looks like this'll be a fun year to follow NE TN football! Morristown West @ Greeneville= Morristown West, but stay patient GV fans-- Chuckey Doak @ Unicoi= Unicoi, I'll put more stock in the SG win than the Unaka one Grainger @ Knox Carter= Knox Carter, but closer than you'd think Oneida @ West Greene= Oneida, rebuilding year on The Range Cumberland Gap @ Union County= Cumberland Gap Rockwood @ South Greene= Rockwood, but SG plays it tougher than last week Claiborne @ Gibbs= Gibbs
  15. I'll give Greeneville major props for just scheduling a huge 6A school, regardless of the result. Both teams got better in this non conference match up. Some of y'all lose perspective way too quickly.
  16. Unaka @ Chuckey Doak= Doak, but I hear Unaka is better than last year Greeneville @ Science Hill= The Hill, strong 6A team is tough to take on before the new guys get seasoned West Greene @ Cherokee= Cherokee, the passing attack will be OVERWHELMING (for most teams they'll play) Unicoi @ South Greene= Unicoi, but I haven't heard much about them other than their QB graduated Cocke County @ Claiborne= Cocke County, because they should have better athletes Cumberland Gap @ Wartburg= The Gap, but a tight one Union County @ Grainger= Grainger, sleeper team based on the jamboree
  17. Thanks CDHS, I'll make my picks soon. Any idea when the football preview will come out in the Sun?
  18. So any thoughts on the games this Friday??
  19. Glad to hear that! I've got my ear closer to Greene County teams than I do your parts, but I'm trying. By the way, I hear Cosby is LOADED and ROLLING
  20. Forgot to say thanks, Pujo, for the clarification on my earlier question. How's the player healing up that got hurt in the scrimmage?
  21. What positions do the new guys play, Pujo?
  22. Luckily I was able to come out to the jamboree last night from the 2nd quarter on. How did South Greene look? Dang CDHS looked BIG! Did #5 for Doak get a serious injury last night? He was running well before that happened. Anyone out there willing to rank the teams from top to bottom based on what they saw?
