  1. The Lady Buffaloes won big on the road tonight winning 45-29!
  2. York, without 2 starters (still playing football) out beat Cookeville 38-32 at York. The best part was Cookeville held the ball for over two minutes before the half with the game tied 17-17 and then couldn't score. I bet they wish they had those two minutes back! Coach Wright is off to a great start a York...Cookeville's coaching was just awful.
  3. York had injured players not playing too, including one of our best. As for you losing because of the officiating, according to the radio one of your big receptions was on a pass which bounced off the ground first, so York was hurt too. It was on your field and York had to travel a long way which takes a lot out of a team. If Marion Co. was the better team the score wouldn't have been 19-7.
  4. Any schedule with Smith Co. and Westmoreland isn't a weak schedule. When York played Monterey they were unbeaten and had outscored their opponents 108-26 and York destroyed them at Monterey. No one from the mountain is comparing York to Alcoa. It would just be nice to get a shot at the best. Good luck Dragons.
  5. The second half was played with the mercy rule and York played the freshmen. One TD was called back as well. York could have easily scored 75 points, but of course wouldn't do that.
  6. Now that York has whipped the 4 teams they've played, will they do the same with Livingston or get shocked like last year being the only team all year to lose to the Mildcats?
  7. I wasn't able to get on here and read the posts this week until tonight. I got to page 8 and all it was was Smith Co. being arrogant...like this "I've kept it in just about long enough. I really was going to try to build this game up to be "THE BIG ONE". Truth is, kp16, those Mountain Men you talk about haven't been hit....YET. You can bet your mountain horses' rear end, they'll be STUCK down after down after down this week. OWLSRULE is right on the money.....different year.....SOS. York played bad, in daddymac's eyes, against CC because they hit you. Sounds to me that CC made enough mistakes to win the game. And no disrespect intended at all, but Monterey and Coalfield are as soft as a babies bottom. The Dragons will not like the final in this one." I checked on the internet to see just what owls eat. I knew they ate rodants, but also included on the list was birds, including crows. All I can say is add Smith Co. to the list of softies.
  8. York is really good...there won't be a seat left Friday night on the mountain.
  9. York scored on their first 4 possessions and rolled to a 41-0 win over Monterey. I really thought this would be close but I've had all three of York's games wrong...I though the blowout of Coalfield would be close (York 47-0), then I thought York would blow out Cannon Co. (York 21-6) but it was close, so I guess I'll pick Smith Co. BIG next week and hope I can keep being wrong.
  10. CSAS didn't win...they were awarded the game. I was at the Clarkrange/Temple game Sat....it was all Chattanooga by the refs. Temple's big blond walked every time she touched the ball and fouled over and over and over. The Lady Buffaloes were way too good for the refs to steal that game. This one they did. Tonight it was all Chattanooga...these 6 refs from these 2 substate games should all be fired. At the end of the game a CSAS player carried the ball OVER HIS HEAD right in front of the ref...no call. That was NOT goal tending...when the ref awarded CSAS the game. It was blocked below the basket on its way UP. Ask to see the film and you'll see. Pitiful refs. No game should be decided by terrible officiating. Sure PC played horrible in the 1st half, but with the game on the line the refs did not do thier job. Another time wright went in for a layup and was fouled shooting. They didn't give him his free throws.
  11. Clarkrange has an excellent player in Brandon Upchurch, but otherwise the Buffaloes are going to struggle. Forrest couldn't do much against the Buffaloes until late in the 2nd quarter. I would have to believe they must have been picked low in their district.
  12. Great game Clarkrange. I remember them being up by 40-20...was that their biggest lead?
  13. All these people who are using the EXCUSE that Tyner didn't have 7 suspended players...well, following the rules is part of being a good team. The York players all played because they must have followed the team rules. Tyner's must not have. Doing you job on AND off the field is part of being a good player. Since 7 players' behavior weakened the Tyner team, that made York the better team. As for York not being able to make a first down against Tyner...they made 12 to Tyner's 8. York was near scoring at the end of the game as well, but just ran out the clock. It could have been worse for Tyner. Congratulations Dragons.
  14. grammar how can you say 7A is weak? 7A has won the region against 8A about 20 out of the last 22 years and has team at state almost every year. There are weak teams at the bottom but the top of the district is always in the state elite.
  15. York won't play up to their skills as long as they don't get what a starting 5 is, substitute every 30 seconds and drive off the best players.
  16. As for the penalties...they happened and are part of any game and they did get a sniff of the endzone...so penalites don't count? York looks like they have given up after the Smith Co. game. They have played lackluster for the past two games...several times against Westmoreland they had a chance to drop the quarterback and runners for big losses and two or three Dragons couldn't make a tackle. If they don't decide to give their all again, maybe they'll end up 4-6. Nothing taken away from Westmoreland, they played great and with enthusiam and deserved the win.
  17. The score may have showed that SC beat York convincingly but anyone who saw the game knows it was as close as it could have been. Both had 144 yards, SC had 62 yards passing, York 58, York's punts were 32', SC's 30.5, SC had 15 first downs, York 12. Plus the game was at Smith Co. I hope if they get a rematch in the playoff, SC comes in thinking they won convincingly! York beat Macon Co. by 3 tds and Westmoreland lost to Macon...York will rebound Friday night.
  18. "Congratulations LA on the win"...seems to me that sounds like giving credit due. "York lost it with 3 fumbles and a dropped pass for the 2 points in the end zone...all alone." again...credit due. First time you ever heard of a minute being run off the clock? That is because the refs ususally make sure that the timekeeper is doing their job. Since they caught him twice, obviously he was running it. Yes, there can be a LOT of football in a minute, especially when you have the ball on the opponent's 10 yard line. Maybe complaining about the refs wouldn't be way up there if they did their job right. Most do. The ones who don't should never be given a free pass. Either be professional or don't ref. Bottom line is York lost the game due to their fumbles and dropped pass.
  19. Congratulation to LA on the win. York lost it with 3 fumbles and a dropped pass for the 2 points in the end zone...all alone. I think LA's best D was the timekeeper running the clock all the time. They only corrected it twice but this cost at least a minute of the game which York needed at the 10 at the end of the game. Also, on one LA TD a York player was about to tackle him and was hit in the back...right in front of the official...no flag. On another play, York punted, an LA player reached up, tipped the ball (it made a big turn so it was obvious he touched it) York recovered and the ball went to LA. York was clearly the better team, but also the fumbles and missed pass lost the game for them. The officiating shouldn't have mattered had they hung onto the ball. LA's offense mostly went backwards, except for a great trick play which got them a bunch of yards. LA was fired up and played a very good game and I don't take anything away from them.
  20. Reading the Smith Co. posts I hardly get the feeling the Owl fans are humble or modest! As for schedules, York has beaten two 3A schools and two 2A...and Smith Co.? SINGLE A win, Jackson Co. (about the worst record in the state for years), and a weak Trousdale Co. team.
  21. You say York hasn't played a good team...Scott Co. is in the best 3A region in the state, is 3-1 and York beat them easily. Macon was on here saying all the same things as Smith Co. is now. I hope you just fire York up!
  22. I think they are the real deal. They were getting outplayed by Macon early last night, but buckled down and made some big stops, had 4 sacks. They showed their toughness after Macon Co. came back from being down 21-7 to tie it at 21-21 with 3 more TDs to win big. They have a lot of weapons, good coaching and fan support.
  23. This was a better team than York's other opponents so far, but penalties really hurt York. Macon Co's 1st score came after they started on the York 28. MC had only one good scoring drive. York needs to watch the penalties next week. Macon was the first team to hold York under 40 points...by 1. Next week's game should be a great one at Smith Co. The Dragon faithful packed the stadium for this Homecoming game and Macon Co. brought a lot of fans too.
