  1. Orcat, just learned that the 6'6" girl at CAK committed to The University of Central Florida to play Volleyball. Congrats to her and her family. I hope that OR and AC have a chance to play several times so the dispute can be settled. Not sure if CAK will meet either team this season but would love to see them play.
  2. Orcat The 6'6" girl for CAK took a summer off of AAU Basketball to concentrate on Club. I think she is now playing on the right side and outside. not sure if you will see her much in the middle this year even though i think that would be a mistake. she is tough in there.
  3. CAK returns all there starters with exception of the Slade whom graduated. They have a strong group of Juniors and some very strong freshman players coming in. I look for them to go far into the season. Havent seen Catholic but they will be tough compition for them in AA this year.
  4. if everyone comes back for CAK i think they will go very far, if not all the way.
  5. The 6'6" girl from CAK Cheyenne Hooper did not make it either. Tallest player in the state. The toughest defensive player in the state with 188 blocks on the season. I think the biggest problem is that there are so many talanted players in this state that that they cant include everyone. If they did the team would have 30 or 40 players on it. Great players know who they are and the fans know who they are also. So if a kid from your team did not make it onto the list, let them know just how great of a player you think they are.
  6. Bigpun, the big girl for CAK had a double double last night so saying she is not a threat..... Cannon did not have a defense for her. She could've had 20 last night if they would have fed her the ball more. I think she will be less effective on defense against Macon. They don't go inside very much. CAK will have to guard the perimeter a lot better if they want a chance to beat them. Cannon had way too open looks. I would say Macon wont miss those shots. Still pulling for the Warriors. Should be a great game.
  7. Don't forget Dayton who is ranked inside the top 15 right now.I'm pretty sure they are very interested. As for the big girl, she has just as many schools looking at her x 2. She is getting a lot of attention from big volleyball programs as well. I would say many schools are waiting to see which way she goes.
  8. I said high not elite. But they are only sophmores. No telling where they could go after two more years
  9. TwinCity. 4 sophomores 1 jr. Three of wich played for the Knoxville Lady Pride under A great coach Mike Capps. He has turned out some of the best players in the knoxville area. I am sure many of the players in this years state tourney has played against these girls in many of past years AAU events. They were taught to play straight up fundamental b-ball. Two of the girls are high D1 prospects and have already won a AAA state championship in WV. I would say all of them could probably get their college paid for. I'm not saying they will win the gold ball. They lack depth and are still very young. I do think alot of posters are over looking them. They are very solid. Sounds like all the teams are fairly strong. Should be some good competition this coming week.
  10. The other starter is a junior, Their other point guard is a sophomore also. She has been sidelined with a knee injury for most of the season. They will return everyone except the lone senior who puts in great minutes off the bench. They should be stronger next year. BrPro.... Hammaker, Hooper and Nayler played AAU ball together since they were 8 years old. The played for Knoxville Lady Pride under Coach Mike Capps. Capps has turned out some of this areas best high school players. Too many to count. Hamaker has been at the school since elementary and Hooper since the 7th grade. Neither has been recruited. Hooper went to CAK to play with her Lady Pride teammates.
  11. Not sure what went down at the EH/Grainger game but it sounds like their is a good rivalry there. Just wanted to say I was at the CAK game last night and thought the Grizzlies played a great game. They played with a ton of class and never played our girls dirty. As for the fans, they were great to. I never once heard them say any mean spirited words or comments to our girls or fans. It was a pleasure having them visit our gym. The Grizzlies have a super program and a great bunch of girls. Win or lose I hope we can play them again next year. It was great night for some east TN high school basketball.
  12. The best part of the video is not the shot. It's the part where the guy comes running in at the end. He runs int a player and falls flat on his butt. Too funny!
  13. CAK over Loudon final 50-26. What helped CAK is that the girl that went down with an ankle in the win over Alcoa is back playing again. Great job Warriors!
  14. Alcoa played a great game last night. They controlled the tempo and never let CAK get into the fast paced scoring offense they are known for. CAK never adjusted their defense. They continued to chase Alcoa's passes instead of closing the passing lanes. Alcoa had a very good game plan and it's players executed it very well. They played as a complete unit, something CAK needs to learn if they plan on making a run to state. Hats off to Alcoa's girls program. Big win!
  15. They are doing ok considering their youth and loosing a key player in Bryant to a knee injury. The return of Hammaker and 6 foot 6 center Hooper have helped alot but Bryant was a key player in the Warrior offense. Hammaker is playing very well and has become a leader for this group. The team is begining to gel and pick up steam. Other players such as Nailer and Hietzman are playing very well also and Hooper is blocking multiple shots under the basket in each game. The bench has stepped up and are filling the void left by Bryant. They are currently 8-2 and are playing in the Landair Classic in Greenville this week. They look like they could be a contender thiis year.
  16. I though the scrimmage day was a sucsess also. I do have only one complaint. The fact that the fouls did not count against the players was very irresponsible in my eyes. When players know they're are no consequences for fouling they play reckless and foul harder and more often. The games should be played by the rules they are played by in the regular season. I know that the games i saw, the refs were training and did not have control of the players. The fouls were so had in fact, a fight almost broke out. Referees that don't know how to make proper calls due to inexperience and no consequences for fouls is a recipe for disaster. Just glad to see no injuries in the games I saw.
  17. It is pretty funny considering one of the girls has gone to school there since kindergarden. They probably started recruiting her when she was two.
  18. The whole "private school" argument doesn't make any sense. The school they are attending is a AA school. They don't offer scholarships to players and they have alot smaller student body enrollment than other AA schools to choose players from. If anything they are at a disadvantage because of a smaller talent pool. All the players on the team have to work twice as hard to compete with bigger schools.
  19. So glad these girls are back where they belong. Here's to hoping that they can win a second state championship. This time in there home state.
