  1. as i looked at my post and thought about it for a second, i realized 2 mistakes...ONE, I'm even older than i care to remember..lol...CD's last win over SG came in 92, so even i was done with HS. dont know what i was thinking. and TWO...if CD can get Julius going early and often, they CAN beat PF, so i'm changing my thoughts on that and thinking now that maybe they will advance...we shall see
  2. well, like i said, its really not much of a preview or prediction vid, just a " all our HS teams made the playoffs " type vid. CD has a great RB this year. not the fastest guy in the world, but runs over most teams not wearing greene. ( thats not being arrogant either other fans outside this area, that's just the facts). They beat the rebs for the f irst time since we were in HS...LOL...well, me anyway, but they drew Pigeon Forge in round one. Alot of people around here seem to think CD will win that one, but PF beat some decent teams this year and it was only a matter of time before that school started competing with the other Sevier teams. I personally think PF gets the knights, but i hope im wrong. I see only GHS and WG advancing to round 2. North Greene gets a bye in rd one, but i fear that might be their only advancement in the tourney. They have a good D for them, but usually dont put many points on the board against good teams in my opinion. I have only seen them play once and SG shut them down completely. They got a score on a turnover if i remember correctly and other than that, had trouble moving the ball. Hopefully this will be the year more than one NET team gets to cookeville.
  3. ran into a fella the other day in town that remembers you from the "red hawk" days...his quote..." he was a big ole boy "....LOL...as for me, we have some company for a while. My Mo-in-law is living with us for a while while recovering from open heart. other than that and making the trip to tuscaloosa last week, things are status quo here. Hope all is well with you and yours as well. I'll be at every Devil game from here on out and will do my best on the vids..here's my thoughts on our county and the playoff situation ( not much of a preview, but a vid still the same)
  4. im actually jacked up for this years HS teams...would love to see a few advance. SG has a tall order ahead, as does CD, but i think WG advances...i just have a feeling about this game with AE...we shall see.
  5. i think they said on the "morning after" show this am that he rolled his ankle...I THINK.....im not a doctor, but i did stay in a holiday in express once in my life, so my professional hotel stayer experience tells me....i bet he'll be fine and play next week....but i could be wrong.
  6. GHS fans know exactly where you are comming from. you just described us in the days when we played up a class. if you're comming to the game, have fun above all else and best of luck to you. I think you will find Greeneville to be very welcoming and a great place to watch a HS football game. We can not, however, guarantee that our Greene Devils will be so nice..haha. these boys are one of the hardest hitting HS teams ive seen in years. Very aggressive on D and our runners can either go around and by you, OR thru you...again, safe travels and have fun above all else.
  7. Barb, ALcoa thumped Scott i beleive 42-7, Scott beat Claiborne Co. 42-19. Don't know what they tells us about Scott vs GHS, but my personal predictions is GHS 49 Scott 0 Our Defense is incredible right now. 38 total yards against Claiborne last night. I know it's just claiborne, but that's impressive no matter who you're playing...GO BIG GREENE...I'll be back to doing GHS vids for the remainder of the season, so if you cant listen, or attend any of the games, i'll have my vids up each week remaining if all goes well late that friday, or early saturday
  8. Good Luck West Greene. Contrary to popular belief, not all GHS fans are arrogant A-holes. I hope you guys send the roadrunners packin back to knoxville.
  9. WG vs CD game should be a slobber knocker...im almost upset that i wont be here to listen to it...hopefully ikq will cover it and i can listen to it from Tuscaloosa. i have a feeling that game will be alot more interesting than my VOLS vs BAMA....good luck next week..
  10. Glad to be back on here...have had some family ailments last week or so, so making the trip to the GAP to see what we all knew would happen just didnt seem feesable to me. But I am looking forward to getting back to Burley. As far as this one goes, I dont think I can add anything to what has already been said thus far in this thread. I will say best of luck to CDHS and GHS both. I will obviously be pulling for a Greene Devil romp, but would love to just see everyone come out of this game injury free....Everyone remember to wear some Pink friday night...it wont be a blow to your manhood I promise....LOL....My wife's a breast cancer survivor so breast cancer awareness is something our family takes seriously...GO DEVILS, see you all at Burley Friday night...GO DEVILS.
  11. agreed...and contrary to popular belief, most kids at the HS age are looking for good mentors and role models..from what I can tell just being around the GHS staff the times I have, everyone there is doing a FANTASTIC job of teaching those kids not just good football technique, but LIFE technique as well. We all know that will help them later in life much more than the football knowledge they gain while at GHS. I hope all the parents and other fans realize this. This comment ofcourse is not to suggest that the county school coaches arent doing the same. ( just a little disclaimer, since some people on here enjoy putting words into others mouths..haha)
  12. Any time there's a "Dabbs, Shuffler or Perkins " on the radar, things are usually pretty good. I myself have wondered what the next couple of years hold for the Devils, but I just keep telling myself that as long as we have a " Ballard, Baugh, Lyons, Quillen and the rest " coaching, the Greene Devils will be just fine. As for this weeks game, Right now, it doesn't look like i'll be making this one in because of a very busy VOLS and work weekend ahead for me, but I certainly wish those that do make the trip a happy, victorious and SAFE trip. Greene Devil fans travel well and I expect this week to be no different.
  13. i agree that some of my comments during the game were sarcastic..they were meant to be..like the " are they scared " comment and ones like that. However, every thing i said about Boles was serious and I have maintained all year that he was a great player. My only complaint about him, was not even about him...it was about the fact that all the adults and some of the kids had made last week about him, rather than all the players. This weeks video will clear alot of things up. SOmeone mentioned anonymity in this thread. I would like to point out that putting myself out there in video is and was a statement of taking ownership of my comments, both on here and in the vids. I stand by everything i said in that video and I stand behind every comment I make on here. This weeks video will be a bit different than past videos. I think it will clear alot of things up regarding this thread, why I make the videos and my thoughts on not only sports in this county, but the residents as well. I have actually echoed many of the things you said in this post in past posts of my own. One quote of mine in fact, sums your entire post up in a nutshell....." remember, the person you just threw under the bus, might be the one standing next to you the next time you need help "....I beleive I made that comment on the Alcoa thread....Best of luck to all county teams this friday..GO Devils
  14. Barb, i agree. I'll go you one further on this one. ALL the athletes in this entire county, even the ones that don't posess the natural ability of some others, bust their butts for for 4 years in weather ranging from sweltering heat and sun to bone chilling icey cold conditions to do their best for their respective teams. I think we would all be well served to recognize ALL these kids from time to time for their efforts. I know in sports there's a pecking order, as is the case in most aspects of life, but in this instance, all these kids do it for one of two reasons.....A love for the game....OR....the possibility of furthering their education and playing time once done at the HS level.....As I've said many times, best of luck to every single kid in our community.
  15. no sir, i COMPLETELY agree with you. I have absolutely no issue whatsoever with the way i "Handle myself" as it pertains to Class. I always congratulate the opposing teams, wish them well in the future and hope that all of these kids, teams and fans have great seasons. Look, the ONLY reason I do these videos this year is because i was asked to by many people at Greeneville High School. If there were 5 of me i would be at every HS team in this counties games each week watching their games, cheering them on and videoing them, if they wished. Unfortunately there's only one very large version of me and i can only be at one place on friday nights. I considered not even mentioning his name this week, but had i done that, someone would have accused me of something rediculous like boycotting Dalton, or something the like. All I did was adress the subject at hand, the only way I know how....honestly and how I personally feel about it. If voicing my honest opinion about things is unclassy, then I guess I am guilty as charged.
  16. UNBELEIVABLE.....im actually laughing out loud as i read over your post again. I had to go back and watch my video again, just to make sure i didnt say anything bad about Dalton and again I DIDNT. Maybe you mistook me saying " quite frankly im tired of the subject " as a negative remark towards Dalton....NOT AT ALL....all i meant is that I was tired of the focus of this game last week being squarely on Dalton and how many yards he would have, as opposed to the focus being on the "TEAMS"....wow, call me a bad guy for that remark!!! I guess if you left that enormously long reply to get under my skin..congrats, it worked. It DOES get under my skin when people falsly accuse me of something. I challenge you to go watch the video again, and point out one single time in the video where i " bullied " Datlon...Good lord, at one point I mentioned that he had improved since last year and that he's a great ( i beleive i said nothing short of phenominal...yah, that's bullying...) Back. I am at this point just going to assume you only saw the title of the video and stopped right there. Again, please do not accuse me of doing something I haven't done, or putting words into my mouth. The minute I feel like I have crossed any lines doing what I do, I will stop, never to be heard from again. until then, if you don't approve of my material, it's your option to not watch it. Thanks again and best of luck moving forward...GO DEVILS
  17. I just dont want people accusing me of something i didn't do. "greenevilleVol" accused me of bullying a 17 yr old kid and i will ALWAYS defend myself when accused of that nonsense. I've stated over and over on here and in my videos that i support all the Greene County athletes in their efforts on and off the field.
  18. yes, actually as soon as you openned your mouth...well, sorry, in this case, as soon as you stroked the first key with your fingers you said to much, as far as this subject goes...did you EVEN LISTEN to what i said in my video?????? I was NOT picking on Dalton. I complimented him repetedly. I have kids, so no way in heck...scuse the language...would i pick on someones kids. ( especially one that could probably kick my tail..lol)...i dont know what you thought you heard, but you should really try again. the ONLY thing i said in a desparaging way what so ever, was that Dalton was not the only good rb on the field that night...yah, i probably maybe went a bit overboard with my accolades for Taylor, but give me a break. These kids mostly want to have their names in the paper when they do good, but let one adult call some attention to someone that might be their equal...god forbid better...and oh lord, look out. I'll say this once again, so maybe you can understand. I SUPPORT ALL.....ALLL.....ALLLLLLLLLLLLL the Greene County kids, INCLUDING DALTON BOLES....I HOPE HE DOES GREAT THINGS AFTER HS......once again....I HOPE HE DOEST GREAT>>>>>>>>>GREAT THINGS after High school......are we clear now? Get over yourself please and pay a little better attention. Thank you and have a great weekend sir or maam.
  19. i removed my comment. I've done nothing but prop up every team and player in greene county on here from time to time, but if one silly post in reference to anothers post along the same line is bothersome, forgive me for trying to actually help deflect some of the bashing others have been doing on here. I've said it before, numerous times, but I'll say it one more time, so you dont miss this one, I wish nothing but the best for every athlete in the county. I would be elated if every kid in Greene County was a superstar athlete, but unfortunatley, life and reality just dont see it that way. I hope Boles has a great, record breaking season this year and hope that he doesnt get hurt getting unnecessary carries in games that are long since decided. Aside from granting each athlete in Greene county a personal award of excellence, commending them is the most i can offer....feel free to check every post I've ever left on CoachT, you will find that I have NEVER "bashed" anyone on here, LEAST of all, any of our kids. If you are one of them, that certainly goes for yo as well.
  20. evidentally you didnt read the 2 posts before this one...mine was a reply to one of the other "humorous" ones....and OBVIOUSLY you havent read any other of my posts on here. I said very plainly that Dalton has great football skills and is a very good RB, no matter what happens against GHS. Do a little research, before you make such comments next time....just a suggestion.
  21. judging by your username, we are about 2 years apart in age. I am a huge GHS fan, but not an alum. There is one county school that i dont really care much for their fans, simply because the bulk of them that are "our" age rarely act like it. I'll just say it. SG. But I pull for ALL county teams period. These are kids for Chr*** sakes. Just because some GHS fans like to bash on county schools does not mean we ALL do. It's an unfair assessment for you to say "GHS FANS" grouping us all together. Bottom line, there are jerk off fans in EVERY fan base and at every level of competition, it just becomes a little more closely scrutenized when its " our " kids out there playing one another. We all live in the same county and generally will at some point run into one another whether we realize it or not. Can we not just leave the puffed up chest talk to the kids on the field and be adults in the stands for these games? Our county already has a bad stereo type put on us, I dont really see the need live up to it. GO GREENE DEVILS and best of luck to all the county teams. Be safe, be rowdy, but be sensible and shake hands after it's over. We never know when the person we just threw under the bus will be the only one around when we need a hand.
  22. agreed....and with that, maybe this thread dies a quiet death and all parties can move on to the next up on their schedules...to the alcoa people scuffling or having words at Burley Stadium...I would hope this is a one time thing with you guys. Your team showed unbeleivable class and integrity before, during and after the game...especially after, when faced with a situation none of them had faced before...i would hope that the " adults " would follow the lead of the " kids "....amazing to me that i even had to say that....with that said, peace, and best of luck to Alcoa from here out...On to the range for the greene devils..a pleasure chatting with and meeting one of you Tornado faithful...GO DEVILS
  23. right you are batman and when i moved up north, surprisingly, in a city much much larger than even knoxville, things were basically the same....the best coaches want the best players, period. you wouldnt be in the biz very long if you were content to just let every " little johnny " play. although recruiting might not be the appropriate word, the bottom line is the same....The best will play, no matter where they come from. Dont know if you've seen the Boles kid play or not Batman, but he's a baller. He's small in stature, but superhuman in ability. I've heard alot of accusations about him around the county as to how he's going about his training, but i dont pay that crap any mind. Some people are just not happy without starting crap. I see what i see on the field and i watched the kid play in greenevilles off week and the kids got skills. Whether or not he would start for GHS, or how many yards, carries or td's he would have doesnt matter. He " IS WHERE HE IS "....LOL...why cant people just let things happen...then again, what would be talk about on coach t right?...by the way, i miss those " run in the county school " days you mentioned.
  24. ok, I'm not quite sure why you replied to my post with THIS reply. I was merely pointing out that most coaches want the best players available in their county. IF that somehow translated as me hating on county kids to you, then I don't even know how to respond to that. My kid is in a county school and I have tried to get her to come to city schools, simply for the education benefits. She wants to stay in her county school because of her friends and I'm ok with that. I know some athletes do the same thing, for the same reasons and I'm ok with that too. Let me say it again.....I DO NOT HATE ANY OF THE COUNTY SCHOOLS. I PULL FOR THEM ALL TO DO WELL. if that makes me a hater, then I guess im the biggest hater of all.
