  1. As a parent who's daughter played on the west side of this district and spent many hours diving in the dirt with WH's keeper during the long hot summer so they could be the best at their position - HOGWASH!! For a fact, there are coaches at that table who will not cast a vote for players at certain schools due to pettiness. I'm with DCurtis on this one 100%!!
  2. Just for clarification .... Sycamore did score 2 goals in the game, just in the wrong net .... don't wanna give you all tooooo much credit there ..... Good Luck with your run for the state!!
  3. Per Section 11 of the 2012-13 TSSAA Handbook: "Any appeal request regarding the ejection of players or coaches shall be submitted in writing from the administrator of the school, stating which playing rule was misapplied. It should be accompanied by $50.00. If the appeal is granted, the $50.00 will be returned to the school."
  4. So ... if you choose to appeal the card, here is what you can expect. TSSAA will gladly accept your written appeal as well as your evidence (i.e. - photos, video, etc.) and the required appeals fee. With a smile on their face and a look in their eye that seems to indicate that they have a deeply vested interest in your concern and requirement for justice, they will thank you for bringing this to their attention and assure you that they will carefully and thorough review the evidence and appeal. At that time, they will inform you that they will inform you of their decision as quickly as possible since they understand the urgency of your request in light of the time remaining in the season and the criticality associated with your team's opportunity to advance. After a matter of hours, you will receive a notification that they have decided to uphold the card issued by the referee since it was a "decision call" and they must rely upon his expertise and experience to make the appropriate call. It will be at that point that your blood pressure will boil. You will swear they dined out using your appeals fee while they laughed and ridiculed your decision to appeal. It will be at that point that you will most likely spew forth a few choice and unrecoverable words and/or phrases to express your opinion as to the integrity (or lack thereof) for their processes. I was at the same point myself two years ago and if you go back in the message boards, you'll see I gave similar advice to DCURTIS last year on this very topic. Keep your money, don't waste your time and alleviate the need to seek forgiveness at the church of your choosing ..... DCURTIS - let me know if I missed anything .....
  5. To put this young lady's accomplishment into perspective, here are the current TSSAA records for "Most Goals Scored in a Career": 184 Courtney Dunlap Donelson Christian Academy 2000-2003 168 Becca Smith Riverdale 2005-2008 163 Kat Nigro Livingston Academy 2007-2010 162 Crystal Mackezyk Spring Hill 2007-2010 158 Catherine Pearson Christian Academy of Knoxville 2000-2004 141 Katie Maguigan Page 2007-2010 136 Aline Bernard Hume Fogg 1996-1999 136 Beth Metcalf University School of Jackson 1999-2002 135 Katie Hayes University School of Jackson 2003-2007 134 Brooke Binswanger Hutchison 1999-2002 134 Jessie Metcalf University School of Jackson 2001-2004 Nice to see District 10 A-AA making an impact in the TSSAA record books.
  6. Good luck with the appeal ... had an interaction with TSSAA last year with photo evidence for appeal ... they took the money required for the appeal and upheld the card ... quick turnaround and a quick $50 for TSSAA
  7. Sycamore High School travels to CPA for preseason action on Thursday, August 11. The two teams met last year in the first round of Region play where CPA beat Sycamore rather handily. Sycamore went into the game with numerous injuries while CPA had a healthier team and a deeper bench. Since last season, CPA lost a number of key Seniors while Sycamore retained their primary core. For the 2010 season, Sycamore registered 2 players (1 freshman and 1 sophmore) into the TSSAA record books for goals on the season and assists on the season; the freshman player also made the A-AA state team. This one has potential to possibly set an interesting tone for post season play.
