Go ahead and concentrate on baseball to get your mind off the game. I knew we would have posters like you complaining about Shane not pulling his starters too early. Did you not notice that your starters were still out there playing against our freshmen late in the 4th quarter? I do remember Tyler Jean still out there at the end of the game. Be careful what you post little boy! Folks from the district complained about it all year. Shane played ten players on a regular basis for the entire season. He had most of his starters out during the entire game Friday. I do not believe Moore County had that luxury. Remember to be the best you have to beat the best. Just appreciate the fact that you can say you were beaten by the best team in Class A and almost AA because we beat Mitchell earlier in the season. Just got back to Athens. Great to see Purple and Gold and the rest of the crew. Great to meet Galilee and GC Pioneer. Now to the game. MJ, what more can I say? He was a man among boys today. He put the team on his back and said "Don't worry about the mule, just load the wagon." Legend, Manassas is a diamond in the rough. I will say I was truly disgusted and disappointed with the shenanigans of Buckner. If he concentrated more on his skills and less on his flopping around like a fish out of water he would be unstoppable. He was continuously trying to get cheap calls and was constantly provoking our players but to no avail. You may think highly of Coach Harris, but the thing to remember is that a player plays and acts as his coach allows. It is hard to earn respect of other players and coaches when this occurs. Sounds like a logical thinker. I would agree with your assessment of the state and how sports prevail. Many think that Memphis is the powerhouse with basketball, but they tend to beat up on each other in the district and region. Then the team to come out of Memphis is not always the best. I am sure Memphians would disagree, but it is generally the case.

Union City will definitely have the fan base. Saturday will definitely be a big day with the Golden Tornadoes in the finals and Coach Randy Barnes (former UCHS football coach) being inducted into the TSSAA Hall of Fame.

Looking forward to seeing everyone at the 'Boro. It is so much fun reading the Times Free Press and seeing the comments by Temple. Here is one of the very few East Tennesseans bragging about the Golden Tornadoes. Union City is the real deal. I was glad to see Manassas in the opposite bracket. That way the true championship game will be played Saturday (UCHS v. Manassas). Don't take it personally Temple fans, but you have not seen a team this year like you will see Wednesday morning. Yes, to be the best you have to beat the best. However, that will not happen this year. Give 'em heck P & G!!

I am sure that everyone would love to see this match up before the tournaments start. However, I don't think this would be a good idea. What an honor it is to tell people over here in God's country (East Tennessee) that I am a graduate of Union City High School. You will be surprised as to how many have heard of the Golden Tornadoes. I believe the Purple and Gold have something to prove this year. MJ has been a leader and one to definitely model.
