  1. WOW......THIS GAME WAS NOT EVEN CLOSE, I REALLY EXPECTED ENSWORTH TO HAVE TO WORK A LITTLE HARDER FOR THE VICTORY. EVEN THOUGH ENSWORTH WAS MINUS 2 IN TURNOVERS THEY STILL FOUND A WAY TO WIN BIG. BGA QB DID NOT EVEN HAVE 100 YDS PASSING UNTIL THE FINAL 4 MINUTES OF THE GAME WHEN IT WAS 33 0 AND HE THREW A LONG TD AGAINST OUR 100% FRESHMAN DEFENSE. GREAT WIN FOR ENSWORTH AND GOOD LUCK TO BGA THE REST OF THE WAY.
  2. Agreed........I think it may be tied at half and then Ensworth will pull away late.
  3. And kudos to BGA for stomping on MBA!!! SEE you for Thursday night lights!
  4. The Siegel Nation needs to come out with numbers like never before. 5 years ago they would infiltrate opposing schools visitors sections by the hundreds and wreak havoc on them. Now that the football team is good, it is sad to see that there is a lack of student support. You can thank the administration for cracking down on the student section and limiting the raucous atmosphere that use to be.
  5. Im thinking that Baylor may jump out ahead by 10 to 14 points early and then the Ensworth D settles in and takes care of business in the second half along with an offensive explosion. Ensworth 35 Baylor 23
  6. It would be great if the Oakland Blackman game could be played at MTSU around 530 or 6 followed by the Riverdale Siegel game around 8 or 830. Would be a great opportunity for the entire community to see both games in one night. I would venture to say that 10k to 15k people would attend between the 2 games.
  7. I played HS and college football in the state of Tennessee. I study a lot about high school football because it interests me when debates such as this arise. Mississippi has consistently produced the most NFL players per high school. In 2007 and 2008 Mississippi was voted as the overall best state for high school football by a national recruiting magazine. Realistically, Tennessee is in the bottom half of high school football among other states. Mississippi is in the top 5-6 states. Based on some research and information such as # of Division 1 signees, players gone pro and national rankings. Here is my opinion the breakdown of high school football state by state. Their are 4 groups within each group there is not particular order. #1 Georgia, Texas, Arizona, California, Florida, Mississippi, Ohio, South Carolina, Illinois, Maryland, Alabama, Pennsylvania #2 Oklahoma, Washington, Kentucky, Missouri, New York, New Jersey, North Carolina, Oregon, Arkansas, Massachusetts, Louisiana #3 Tennessee, Virginia, Wisconsin, Kansas, Michigan, Indiana, West Virginia, Utah, Colorado, Delaware, Connecticut,Nevada, Iowa, Nebraska #4 Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Hawaii, South Dakota, North Dakota, Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, New Mexico, Alaska,Vermont, Minnesota
  8. Don't forget about Egypt playing at Ensworth!!
  9. Smyrna just whipped a good Brentwood team. BGA IS VERY GOOD. In my opinion they are the 2nd best team in D2 behind Ensworth.
  10. Well buddy you will not see Ensworth get whipped anytime soon. And 2 years in a row they have had an out of state power cancel on them. That is why they only played 9 reg. season games last year. I am sorry that your team is not as good as Ensworth. People like to win and E wins. They win the right way. Shakenthefat---- Losing by 40 points does not make you a leader, brave yes.......leader no. Leaders beat the teams in their conference and win championships. And shame on you RedRobin........picking Baylor?? They returned a lot of starters but lost 75% of their offense in Jacob Huesman. Have some faith in your Tigers. BGA is probably the 2nd best team behind Ensworth right now. Followed by Baylor. MBA and BA embarrassed D2AA Tennessee football the past 2 weeks. I hope they can use that humiliation as motivation but they are not in the same class as Ensworth, BGA and Baylor right now.
  11. Riverdale has been notorious for recruiting out of state players themselves in years past and going as far as to arrange housing for players especially during the Gary Rankin era. There were times when they would bus middle school students not even zoned to Riverdale to Riverdale for weightlifting during the spring of their 8th grade years. Other times top talents from Mississippi and Louisiana would show up in Rutherford County---Murfreesboro----Riverdale school zone. Now that Rankin coaches in an open zoning county it is no big deal. Ensworth is by far the best team among middle and west tennessee. I would love to see them match up against Maryville or Alcoa. Additionally regardless of how great a schools mission is, that should not exclude a coach, coaching staff or institution from criticism. Playing hard and doing your best is good. However winning is essential to success. It should not be acceptable to lose to anyone 40-0. Teaching kids to compete and win championships will benefit them in all aspects of life. It takes great effort to win. But if you give good effort and fail, you still failed. Kids should be taught to win and at Ensworth they know how to win. They will be successful in life because of it. For all those who believe that its ok to lose as long as you give it your best think of it this way............ Meeting sales quotas are essential to keeping your job and feeding your family. If you "gave it your best" but fell short and lost your job is it ok???? Kids that learn how to win will be successful.......Kids that are told its ok to lose as long as you gave your best will lose in life. Ensworth prepares kids for life. Ensworth wins championships.
  12. I would love to see how Ensworth would match up with them.
  13. Agreed..........just saw a computer ranking state-wide based on quality of wins (this year and last), strength of schedule, opponents strength of schedule, players and several other factors that has the top 4 teams in the state all coming out of D2AA......Ensworth, MBA, Baylor and BGA. All ranked ahead of Maryville, Alcoa, Riverdale, Oakland and Blackman. Not to say that Maryville or Alcoa is not better than these teams, but D2AA plays the toughest and most consistent schedule of any division with 7AAA a very close second.
  14. Blackman, Oakland, Riverdale, Siegel, Brentwood, LaVergne, Trinity, Cookeville, Maryville, Farragut
  15. This of course assuming they defeat Pope, Father Ryan, McCallie, and their other non-conference opponents, which they should.
  16. I think that BGA is looking at a 7-3 season. They will upset one team in their league, probably not Ensworth but they will win 1 of 3 either Baylor, MBA or BA.
  17. This year in particular I would like to see Trinity take on MUS or Ensworth who I think both have a slight edge on MBA and BA this year.
  18. I think that it is ridiculous how smyrna and lavergne facilities are so far behind Oakland, Blackman, Siegel and Riverdale. Both schools deserve upgrades especially Smyrna who has 2 recent state titles.
  19. However, I do currently live about 8 miles from Smyrna HS so I will be pulling for Rutherford County even though gut tells me BGA wins.
  20. I Agree............It takes a small, weak man to make comments like that to make himself feel bigger. I hope he is banned from these boards so we do not have to listen to his nonsense and we can enjoy life and football. This Shag obviously has some personal issues as well as a lack of self confidence. Good luck to both teams in this one, I don't have a dog in the fight but as predicted earlier think BGA takes this in a close one.
  21. MUS has the edge up front, while Ensworth has the better skill players. Ensworth defeated Oakland 35-0 in a 3 quarter scrimmage last week. Will be a great game!!
  22. Winners; Franklin, Riverdale, Oakland, La Vergne, Blackman, BGA, Lincoln Co,McGavoc, Greenville, Bearden
  23. 3 regular season games is uncalled for. Run the entire team until the puke.......and then some extra for those involved in the fight. I remember a bench clearing brawl between Blackman and Centennial........then Blackman and Franklin County about 7 or 8 years ago. No one was hurt, no one was suspended, the coaches punished the heck out of the players involved to the point where there was not even the thought of fighting for the rest of anyones season.
  24. It is really going to be BGA's QB vs. Smyrna's Defense.........Smyrna has more talented athletes by far, but a great quarterback and great coaching staff @ BGA will be tough to beat. Smyrna may have their way with BGA's defense if they get some fast backs out in the open field and outscore them. Will be a good amount of scoring but I will stick to my prediction............however, I would like to see Smyrna win this one!!
  25. There is a nasty trend at Siegel...........they consistently have an extremely talented team with poor coaching..........Franklin by 10
