  1. Summit did their part yesterday to help the Patroits win Friday night by opening up our field and facilities to Page after a gas leak shut down PHS and PMS. Best of luck to the Patroits. We'll be rooting hard for you guys.
  2. Best of luck to Fairview. You have a very talented team and play with a lot of class. That obviously comes from the head coach. Hopefully Moore and Franklin play great and take you all to five more wins this year.
  3. Here is a perfect example of why SH will be in trouble for the foreseeable future. Tonight in a freshman game they dressed a kid who was ejected from the JV game three days ago. They just put a different jersey on him. Then, they had two different players get ejected tonight for fighting. Their QB actually clubbed an opposing player in the head on a long run at the end of the game. I'm sure he hurt his hand more than the helmet of the other player. But it was completely unnecessary. Easily the most undisciplined program I've seen in awhile.
  4. You will have zero problems winning this game by a lot. I mean by a lot.
  5. Done! He's leading by 3% points so keep voting.
  6. LC, we travel a few miles south to take on the Raiders of Spring Hill. The boys are going to be ready and fired up for this one. I'm not surprised to hear that about Cobb. He carries himself well on the field.
  7. You're welcome Rock. Glad you liked them. It was a lackluster night. Our student body decided to stay home for the most part which took some energy out of the stadium. As for the game, we all agreed at our post-game tailgate that y'all look much more efficient than last year. Heard there were scouts at the game looking at a number of your players; including a Big 10 school with eyes for number 12. Big kid with a big arm. And he knew were 15 was going to be all night. Also your players had some nice things to say to our boys in the post game handshake. It was appreciated for sure. Most important for us...no injuries. (Y'all too of course) We should be 100% for Spring Hill next week. Good luck the rest of the way.
  8. LOL. Understood. As Patroit said, the visitor seating is smaller than the home side but there is enough unless all of Pulaski shows up. Being a new school they planned well for the jump to AAA. (I do appreciate the shout out tho Patroit!) As for eating the best and most unique place is probably Jack of Hearts BBQ. Here's the address: 5075 Main St. Spring Hill 37174. It's on 31/ Columbia Pike in Spring Hill. 31 is parallel to Buckner Ln which is the road Summit HS is on. (There is also a Buckner Rd which connects 31 and Buckner Ln btw...don't confuse the two) If you travel up 31 thru the Maury Co side of Spring Hill you will see Buffalo's as well as Olive Garden, Cracker Barrel, and O'Charley's in the Target shopping center on your right. That's Jack's is dang good BBQ tho. One thing for tomorrow night to warn you about, there is probably going to be a large number of Independence High School students walking around strutting their "power I" shirts and talking smack about Summit b/c Indy is away. Just knock em down on one of your many visits to the concession stand.
  9. Appreciate the kind words Rock. That game against Spring Hill should be very interesting and definitely a war. I know they are looking at it like their best chance for a win.
  10. Thanks Wise. It shows the state how tough our district is when we have teams playing for and hopefully winning state championships. As for Summit, the boys are practicing hard and playing hard. And they have mostly competed well. They know every snap counts towards next year so there is no quit in them. There is a core of about 20 boys; a little more than half being juniors, who give their guts every Friday night. There is about an equal number of sophomores with a few juniors ready to step in when called upon. Luckily most of the freshmen are getting to be just that and not being counted on for varsity games. I'm hoping for a quick game with no injuries on either side this Friday night.
  11. The Eagles are rested and healed after an off week. I say Indy by 28.
  12. Well.... no...not really....not much to say. My only comments are for all the Giles fans to have a safe trip up to Spring Hill and then back home, make sure to hit the concession stand often, and please pull 12, 15, 21, 22, et al once you have your 35 plus points. No need to get them hurt with some sort of freak injury in this type of game and surely your backups could use the reps. Good luck the rest of the way. Y'all appear to be primed for a 15 game season.
  13. You're right Bulldog. It was a big win for the team. Any win for a second year program still without a senior class is always a big win. The way they did it too (coming back in the 2nd half, holding off numerous charges for nine minutes, and securing it with a late TD) bodes well for the future. It wasn't just winning, it was learning how to win that was important as well. It should be a hard hitting game tonight. Safe travels if you're making the trip over to see your team play.
  14. Really hard to tell. It's an interesting school in terms of the student mix. But it will affect them for sure if they are classified as a 6A school in November, the new school opens in the fall of 2014, causing them to lose half their freshmen and sophomores to the new school. They could be in for a rough 2016. (The problem Indy may have next year) But if the new school opens in 2015 Ravenwood will have time to get reclassified before all their upper classmen leave.
  15. They haven't started building it yet. The earliest would be in the fall of 2014. More likely scenario is the fall of 2015.
  16. Looking forward to welcoming the Bulldogs to Spartan Stadium tomorrow night.
  17. gu Not offended. Y'all just seem to have some bigger than average boys. Especially #72. Page and Lewis didn't seem as big as East and Loretto. But they were bigger than us come to think of it. With the offense we run though big isn't always better. The line needs to be mobile and all five starters can run. The interior lineman are stronger than their size would indicate as well. The two tackles are sophomores and they are both very athletic but you are right, they are not particularly big. Good luck the rest of the season and I hope your boys put this one behind them.
  18. That's a little rough but I'll chalk it up to frustration and anger. I will say I could almost feel the shock up in the visitors stands. And in the post game handshake line the phrase I was told was that your players had "looks of devastation in their eyes." I hope for East's sake that this isn't a back breaker for the current players.
  19. Very proud of my Summit Spartans tonight. Great win for a great group of young men.
  20. Odds are Summit will be 5A. There are around 850 students now in grades 9-11. The middle school has about 300 8th graders. The current 5A enrollment numbers are 1067-1459. So we will be closer to 4A numbers than 6A.
  21. Looking forward to the trip to Lyles to watch my Spartans play y'all. I'm hoping for the best as always.
  22. No, you're right about Brentwood. They will lose something like 37 seniors. Amazing there are that many seniors on one team.
  23. Indy will destroy Coffee Co. as well as Hillsboro, Franklin, and Ravenwood. You will lose to Siegel and make the playoffs as the disrtict runner-up to Brentwood.
  24. First, sorry for the personal attack. Unfair and uncool. Second, I never once said Summit would beat Indy this year. I said we competed hard in the two scrimmages. And anyone from Summit who has said that to you either doesn't play football for Summit, is delusional, or is yanking your chain. My only comment is next year the programs will be more equal because of the split as you noted. Third, I do know Indy's team almost as much as Summit's. I watched your seniors play when they were in 7th grade at Heritage being coached by Spann and Merritt. I saw them grow as 8th graders. That's when it was obvious that Jalen, Oscar, Jake, Jack, Josh, et al were going to be very good football players. I saw your (and Summit's) current juniors destroy every team as Heritage 8th graders until they lost to Brentwood on a fake field goal. Saw Finis run three punt returns for TD's against Woodland. I've been to many Indy games over the years (including the state championship against Symrna) until Summit opened and saw these boys maturing. I am well aware of your future QB; Andrew B- Matt's little brother. I wonder what Dyson will do with fellow freshman QB Adam S. He is a stud too. And there is Daniel W. who grandfathered into Indy b/c his older brother Timmy W. plays baseball for IHS. He is a good QB too. I know your current sophomores only won one freshman game last year but your freshman this year are undefeated. I've been told by two Indy coaches that they are concerned about the next year because there will be only one senior lineman. I know your football team.
