2nd half we played a lot better after we started running the ball more. Still had several mistakes offensively and special teams tonight was atrocious. We need to get back to work come Monday and try to get better. We can’t play like that to get to where we want to get but we are far from a finished product so we have time. The scary part is we still won 42-6

I realize this is a rivalry game and anything can happen but if Pirates play like this against Whitwell or Greenback we will get mercy ruled. 1st half has been some of the sloppiest football play I’ve seen in a long time by the Pirates. We have had a dozen penalties and over a dozen bad snaps. Why we continue to try and throw it out of shotgun when we can’t consistently snap the ball is puzzling. I know he has been hurt but Tipton has touched it twice and both times have been touchdowns. We are trying to be too cute imo. If we would stay in the base wingT set this ballgame isn’t close right now. Not practicing all in pads is showing tonight but regardless we got a football game on our hands.

I would guess SP has an average 40-50% of its fan base show up weekly. Less than that during lean years. Spoiled fan base for sure. Mindset is play for Gold or go home. Even on strong years when the team has a chance for a special year most only show for the big games and then again in 3rd & 4th rounds. It is just the beast that coach Grider created. Hopefully he throws his anchor down and never leaves. With social media being what it is today no coach deserves to have to follow in his foot steps

41-6 then in playoffs I believe 34-10...Just remember many on team were disappointing after 2nd meeting cause everyone wanted to beat them worse than first meeting because they said we sharpened our chin strap snaps. This was the first year they really started to improve. Their 98 team had much more talent than their 96 team that went undefeated in regular season. Then their 99 team was probably the 2nd best team in state that year besides us.

Impressive win tonight especially in crappy weather. Great job by offense hanging onto the ball and defense is just salty. We won line of scrimmage from start to finish with a gimped up offensive line. Either our depth is better than we think up front or Sequatchie’s big uglies isn’t nearly as good as last year. Either way that was good win tonight and something to build on.

Well said! Not sure about 2 scores though. Sequatchie showed nothing in the jamboree and looked like they didn’t prep for Whitwell at all. Whitwell looked in mid season form but they likely wanted to make an example of Sequatchie since they were not interested a year or so back to schedule them. My guess is Whitwell treated Jamboree as a game week so I put zero stock in how either looked. Im betting the Sequatchie team that pushed around Tyner a few weeks ago will be more in line with what’s SP sees tonight. A month ago I would’ve picked Pirates by 2 scores but now I honestly don’t know. Injuries to offensive line have kept them from settling in and it has shown. This team can’t put ball on the ground tonight or it will be a long night. If Pirates play turnover free I will take the good guys by 7. The time has finally come for some of these Sophomores to STEP UP! Win or lose tonight we got a lot of work to do before October.

You act like Gilbert just fumbled when in reality Raulston took it from him. As far as the pass your referring to yes if a QB is flawless and hits his WRs every single time they are open they would blow out any team from little league to the NFL but that’s not reality. SP could sit here and say say we gifted you 14 points as well. 7 points of kickoff return and another 7 on the first drive when we dropped 2 different intercepations. Let’s not forget SP then gave you the ball inside the 40 on 3 other occasions because we didn’t cover well on special teams. Congrats to you and Greenback though you have a good team but your delusional and a Homer. Like I said before we look fwd to it next year and then hopefully you guys get more transfers so we can do it again in 2019 & 2020. There will be a time soon when GB doesn’t have overwhelming talent in the matchup. That time is coming but enjoy the ride while it last

Lol, last comment for me until next year but that’s a negative I was on that team and was in the game while we were taking a knee. I’m sorry to say but our whole team ran wild on you. Eddie Moore was no where close to all that team had. There is a big difference in running it between the tackles with the lead and chunking it up with 30 seconds left. You guys will win next week though and end that 30 year drought. We will be back like we always are. Just don’t complain when payback comes because it is coming over these next few years.

Yeah it was critical. Can’t give an offense the ball inside our own 40 3 different times and then let them take another kick for 6. I will say this, Greenback is one of the best trick play teams I’ve witnessed. Last year and this year. SP had chances though. 2 potential interceptions on 1st drive and just can’t make the play. It was a really good ballgame. I do think SP got away from Hammer Package in 1st half way to soon though. Greenback never stopped Raulston. However, this loss will feed the youth on this team for Round 3 between us next year.

Running didn’t beat SP passing and special teams did. Kudos your team is super talented. Still think SP was a lot more physical up front. Losing #22 was pretty critical. He was best gamebreaker we had. Lol super classy by your coach for throwing it up for grabs with less than 30 seconds left up by 10. You can tell you guys haven’t won Gold in 30 years. Greenback is the more talented team but SP is whipping them up front. Trick passing plays and insane great catches by WRs have been difference. Special teams for GB has set them up offensively on every single drive. Refs are garbage with all the non holding calls but credit to Greenback they have made all the breaks in this one.
