Hardangle. Do you think having the head football coach as your AD had anything to do with it. I mean the guy probably could care less about volleyball. Especially while in football season. What a crazy thing to have your head football coach as AD. I know the Bearden AD had to give up being AD once he accepted the head coaching job. This only makes sense.

I'm starting this post so we can concentrate on one topic in each post. We have got some passionate people (which is great) and we tend to go off topic some times. Anyways, let me answer K2R. You are correct The Ex Bearden coach didn't promise anything but Some people like Phillyal and spike4 (where are you by the way) said from the very beginning he had an agenda and that was to (basically) serve and protect his daughter. They also said when his daughter graduated he would quit Bearden. MANY disagreed including myself. We were wrong and they were right. Anyone can quit anything at any time. The coach told parents that this was not true. That's why its wrong k2r. It would be fine if he was up front with everyone but it seems like he can't be. I also have asked a lot of people about the vacant position at Bearden. They all said that there is one person that they think will have a big say on who should get the job. I have never met this person and the people have asked me not to put he/she name out there.

Yes you are correct on how we were so successful. You are wrong however (if the coach did resign) when you say it's ok if he quits. Of course he should want to watch his daughter play. The problem is (just like Phillyal said). The coach knew he was doing this all along. He's wrong (if he resigned) again. Just like he was wrong when he was late for his banquet last year.I am trying to dig up the facts.

I have zero insight on catholic. My point was that he will be much happier if he choses not to coach ANYWHERE. Knoxville is a tough place to coach volleyball.

I have no idea why Garland left. He may not know it now but he'll be much happier..

Hardangle..She's going to Where??? That's where the so called "best setter ever" goes to college? Wasn't she all state and all district and prep xtra and MVP of her team? What does that tell you about Knoxville volleyball?? When we had our powerhouse we our girls got some awards but not many. They never were tagged as the "best player ever" and we had some incredible young girls. Oh well, I guess I'm just shocked that's where she is going. I thought she would be going big time. Good luck to her. She'll do big things there.

I'm shocked that the Bearden coach has resigned. It still isn't official so I'm holding out that he has integrity. You don't just coach because your daughter is on the team and then leave when she graduates. If that's true what a BUSH LEAGUE move. That means he had no intention of staying more than 3 years. I'm not conceding to Phillyal yet. I have to hear it from the school first. If you knew all along that you wanted to watch your daughter play in college then you shouldn't have taken the job. I'm holding out hope that this isn't true, for the goodness of High School volleyball.

Hardangle..You are kidding right? I was really hoping this guy was legit. Has Bearden announced this or is this coming from parents of players?

So far nothing has changed. The Catholic Job is open and no rumors of who will apply. That's the only job open and it looks like it will stay that way. Most were wrong about the Bearden coach. If he was going to resign I would think it would have been at the team banquet. I think that has come and gone. I remember some of you saying he only took the job to get his daughter what she wanted and then he would quit. It looks like you were wrong on that one. I love seeing a coach be legit for once!! Some said no way he was doing that. They said he was sincere about taking the job and it looks like those people were correct. Those that called him out for having an agenda please apologize.

K2R Where are you hearing that Coach Mincy has been promised the Bearden Job? Who would have promised it to her if it's not open? I think this is very interesting. Doesn't Bearden have a new AD? I doubt he promised anything to anyone in his first year.

K2 do you have a daughter that played or plays now? Do you or did you like her coach?

The only way this gets changed is if the school administraters get together and write to the TSSAA. They won't , however, because they could care less about volleyball. It's unfortunate for the girls. There is not one right thing about this situation but no one cares enough to change it.

What I hate, and somoene posted about this a while back, is that the winners bracket can not lose in order to be the champions but the losers bracket can lose once and still be champs. Who runs this outfit? That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard of.

After seeing what the Bearden coach did to one of his own players (leaving her out of rteam picture) I can't believe they would keep him. Maybe the adminstartion doesn't know. Anyone on here know the answer to that? I'm sure they would love to get the catholic coach. If my memory is correct, the catholic coach turned the job down before they offered it to the current coach. I wonder if Bearden would take him since he turned them down before. K2Ruth any thoughts on this?

Agree with this. Would put Farragut in there too if they had a different coach. I guess the adminstration likes going to State with a lot of telent and not finishing.

Hopefully all High schools in our area will eventually have great coaches. Not there yet though!!

K2R. You are right. Philly has really made some good points on this situation. It's a shame that's been going on at Bearden and its a shame the girl in question (who Philly says was the best coach on the court for the girls) had that done to her. Didn't think people around here did those things. I think on the CBFO thing that philly is talking about the AC situation that the CBFO person is in the middle of. It's under investigation so we don't want to discuss it here.

I would have to agree with hardangle. I've watched him coach as an asst and a head coach. The guy is First Class. You must have a problem with "playing time".
