  1. Yeah...heard the same thing Champ bout CSAS vs ND. All im saying is the same Grace team that played Cleveland and Signal Mtn to hard fought ties and only lost to CCS 2-0 in pre-season play day (with a man down the entire day due to illness and scheduling conflicts) had their hands full against CSAS and were even outplayed in the first half. I'm telling you, somebody had coached those girls up cause they played smart and tough.
  2. Grace IS looking good with strong Soph class settling in after winning district last year. Only lost 2 starting seniors to graduation and another solid group of freshman added this year. That being said, one super soph transfer, one Sr that decided to sit out (???) and only other Sr who is captain and goal scorer out for another week with severely sprained ankle. Consequently, seriously short on depth for now. Have dodged two bullets so far with 1-0 wins against good Walker Valley and CSAS teams. Defense is solid and has kept them in games with veteran back line and keeper. Will need a few underclassmen to step up and develop quick on offense to completely solidify. Big test tomorrow against EH in Region final rematch at home.
  3. Not just a few injuries...at last count I think it was 7 or 8 and mostly upper class. That's tough to absorb. Don't count them out...it's how you finish.
  4. So you're a Miami Hurricanes fan?...with all due respect, do you not see the irony in that??
  5. As I stated before...most of the goals were scored by girls who were young or not used to scoring and didn't know any better...first game out of the shoot...not exactly something you focus on in summer camp (how NOT to run up the score) and kind of presumptuous if you did. Regardless, as someone who is obviously used to your team being vastly superior, thanks for the lesson on how to be gracious.
  6. All I know is Grace Academy plays Maryville Friday night...would sure like to see brackets if anyone has em...
  7. Before you start throwing Grace under the bus, make sure you have the proper perspective. I was at the game and it was 7-0 before you could get a coke from the concession stand. Over half of the goals were scored by freshman and/or predominantly defensive players who were substituted before half-time. Polk is a first year program and it was the first game of the season. Their keeper actually played pretty well but she didn't get much help. IMHO, it would have been more disrespectful to not score and play keep away than to put the second and third string in and let them play. It may have been tough to swallow for Polk but the Grace girls were very respectful and tried to encourage the Polk girls after the game (just like they did for Tyner last year)...they can relate since that is what Grace's program looked like when the Seniors were Freshman. Trust me there were no messages trying to be sent or scores being settled. After all, there's no history between these two teams! Grace is just a very good team this year (Now 3-0 after a 4-0 shutout of Hixson and a 9-0 shutout of Sequoyah tonight...still not totally tested but I believe they will surprise some folks this year)and Polk is just getting started. No drama here...these are not the droids you're looking for...move along.
