  1. The fact is that Greeneville will not play anyone until they are eligible!
  2. We don't need to get started on this topic, I promise you Greeneville always follows rules on any transfer. I know of one county school that played 3 illegal baseball players this past spring. 2 of them played football this fall.
  3. Let's just hope they're not trying to really start fights like Carter tried to do. How about the weather? How can either team get anything done with weather like this? Hope it doesn't change how the game is played.
  4. The BBQ joint that caters the concession stand at the games is very good!
  5. From what I understand, the best food is at the tailgate party in the upper back corner of the stadium! I've heard that guy can cook!
  6. Your boy doesn't even know his running backs name! Bill4volz, it's Fred not Rob!
  7. Well Greeneville scrimmaged Maryville also. In the newspaper, Quarles said," Greeneville is the strongest, most physical team we have played or will play, they wore us out!"
  8. Greeneville might not have anyone as tall as some of Fulton's players, but I promise you there is not a team as strong as Greeneville from top to bottom!
  9. I'm sure Ballard and the boys are not looking past Fulton, can't wait until Friday!
  10. BVD, man I wish you would read Doug Fritz's article in the Johnson City Press. That fellow amazes me on how he portrays North East Tennessee, after we beat Elizabethton last year, and went on to win a state title, Fritz was on the Greeneville band wagon. This year he hasn't written anything about Greeneville. I guess he will have too by default now. Anxious to see how soon he will be writing one.
  11. Every Freshman that Greeneville dressed on Friday played alot. Carter never put there 2nd and 3rd string in the game, except for the other QB (who started the first part of the year). The defense that the Greeneville's 2's and 3's scored on last night was the starting defense, give or take 1 or 2 because of injury or ejection. Remember that if you turn it over 5 times, have two negative yard punts, and only get 1 first down in the first half, the game is going to get ugly! Sorry for whoever thinks that running the ball between the tackles 90% of the time is running it up. It's not Greeneville's problem to worry about!
  12. No, what Maryville did was sub in the 2nd quarter and 2nd half and Science Hill didn't. So Science Hills starters kept Maryville's young cats from scoring anymore.
  13. As much as Fulton's cupcake diet does, I wouldn't really call Fulton's district a steak dinner! Oh yeah, Greeneville is one of the most conditioned team you will see. They will be doing heavy squats come Monday, and running hard at practice. So will the Fulton players try tearing down the goal post before this game, like last year? I hope they don't just show up wanting to start crap like Carter did last night. That coach had no control!
  14. It's that time of year again! Big win for both schools tonight! Can't wait until Friday!
  15. This is why it wasn't running it up: Carter punted a negative punt that ended up on the six. Greeneville accidentally blocked a punt that rolled to the 1 and then picked up and ran in. Greeneville had 2-1 play drives for TD's. Carter turned it over 5 or 6 times. Greeneville completed 2 passes the entire night, only threw it 3 times. Carter had only 1 first down in the first half. When I think of something else I'll put it. Oh yeah, ran it up the middle over, and over, and over again.
  16. Correct! Padding stats will get your player nominated!
  17. Was recruited and offered by Kentucky, Louisville, bowling green, and western Kentucky when they were D1aa
  18. I know all about the small college stuff, had an older relative go through it in Georgia. It paid for school though, but like the majority of D2 schools, his was pieced together with different grants and stuff to get everything paid for. Now a days that's what is most important. As far as kids getting shots from small schools, most kids think that programs like Carson Newman are easy or a joke because they don't always play on TV or in front of 60,000 or more, then they go and find out that even at the D2 level footballnin college is tough.
  19. Just talking about how Greeneville beat Alcoa and it wasn't the feature story that one Saturday morning. But I know they are "down" and their best player played with a cast on, blah blah blah... Go Greene Devils, take round 2 and roll on!
  20. Amen, a lot more. Not sure why, but I guess that wouldn't be FAIR! what's fair anyway, nothing is fair between the city and county. It will always be that way. But we know the truth,"GOLD BALLS OR MILK CANS?"- The Great Philosopher BVD. Great quote!
  21. My fault greenecosportsfan, read the wrong post. As far as gcfball, what would allow you to know so much, did you experience as a player, where do you coach?
  22. It doesn't take a little spot on the back of the Friday Prep Xtra to get recognition. Did you see the Greeneville Sun today, 3 paragraphs on Dalton Boles, one paragraph on Jamel and Terrell. Been that way about the entire season though. Even the Greeneville/ Alcoa game was on the bottom of the sports page.
  23. It's not all about stats my friend! The only stat that matters is the W/L column. You know this!
