  1. To borrow from the great Roy Dillard & Roy Dillard Jr.. "Wood ent tat bee ell league all elf yew dunn that".. "You think I'm joking but I'm not." eye gary roane tea yew
  2. Is there not some violations of transfer &/or recruiting possibilities in these scenarios. Doesn't seem like these are healthy moves for any involved being the schools, sports, individuals and/or any & all involved. Rarely do these type of situations work out positive or in the best interest of those involved.
  3. Who will be playing in this? Is it softball, baseball, football, bb or what. What schools, teams, players..Need more info.
  4. Off subject, but i drove down to Covington for the Lexington at Covington baseball game. Both teams are competitive but Lexington's pitching mistakes killed themselves. Covington lead at the end of 5 (5-3) with Covington only having 1 hit, an infield bunt. 5 runs on one hit and with basically the ball not getting out of the infield. The guy hit maybe 5 hitters(HBP)in this time. One with bases loaded. He balked at least 3 times. And was constantly behind the hitters. I would be willing to say his 1st pitch strikes to hitters was probably 1 of 20ish. Many walks & HBP batsmen. If he learns how to pitch he could be quite effective. Lex made a valiant comeback in the seventh but Cov held them off 7-6. Lex couldn't overcome these deficiencies.. The kid is not bad but needs to get command, pretty good hitter as well. Think Lexington had the better team just couldn't overcome these mistakes. Cov moves on to take on McNairy. Should be good a match-up between Cov & McNairy. Both are likely to qualify for state cause both will face weak Memphis teams in sub-state that follows.

  6. As far as Covington goes, I have the upmost respect for them. I was very impressed with them this last year. They have alot of athletes. They seemed alittle undersized except for the big center. Is he still there? Bigpurple no disrespect to Milan but they weren't as strong as a typical Milan. Look at the weaker than usual schedule, no fault of you guys. Both for Milan & Cov. the typically strong Crockett Co and Haywood Co were terrible. Tomcats had the worst team in their 100 yr history. WT football was down as a whole last yr with the exception of Lexington and they were upset in the playoffs. However Greeneville would have destroyed them or anyone else from WT. Lexington coach took over with a full cupboard/stable, wasn't able to capitalize. Has alot returning . we'll see if they sink. I didn't think Cov was very good either. I noticed ,as you, their small line. They didn't have to block much with the speed of their three backs. The center was huge but appeared soft with poor technique. Calling it as i see it, Cov with their back speed and down district will go 10-0. give it to em & get out the way. a lot of teams go " in cycles"...with the exception of milan and a few others...lol ill even throw in gibson county...they just have the opposite of milan ya know... saying haywood had the worst team in 100 years as an excuse is odd...because obion had its best season in i dont know how long...so whats the difference...haywood wont be good this season either...they havent had a decent team in 5 years or so...just like jcm...crockett will be awful again as well...then theres south gibson...whom everyone seems to think is special...but who did they beat??? jcs i mean come on lexington struggled in a few games last season...scotts hill, liberty, chester co, bolivar and finally got blown out in the 1st round...i find it odd that you have them winning the round robin...they didnt manhandle anyone last season...especially the good teams... we will never know until these 2 districts meet in the playoffs which will never happen with milan at 3A...yes covington made it farther in 4A...they also had the easiest road in the state...and they lost to maplewood same as liberty as far as athletes go...id venture to say that liberty has more athletes than anyone around this area...the question is whether they take coaching...there isnt anyone who can put the kind of speed that we do on the field...but we do lack size IMO... Went back and looked at Lexington's 2011 schedule & results,,I apologize. they were/are way over rated..they played a weak schedule and didn't beat anybody..lost in the first round to a mediocre opponent. However they didn't struggle with scotts hill, i think they blowed em 51-0. Gibson Co should drop football. Haywood & Crockett untypically terrible, nowhere to go but up. WT football was down as a whole. Obion Co wasn't very good. Their defense was turbull. If you went to see them play, you still didn't see em play defense cause they didn't play any. They wouldn't tackle and avoided contact. Covington still goes 11-0 maybe 12-0 this fall.Undefeated in a second yr weak district. They have three backs faster than Lib. Like the famous Roy Dillard would say "ewe think eye'm joe king butt eye'm knot" Revised 1. Covington 2. Milan 3. Lexington/Liberty/CC
  7. Bentley... I respect your opinion and this isn't necessarily just directed at you because I have heard a couple of other coach t posters say this. But how is milan down or not as good as years past? Last year, 13-2 and state runner-up with almost everyone coming back. I just don't know what people are basing these statements on. 8. I too would love to see a round robin between Lexington, Liberty< milan and covington. If so would finish 1. Lexington 2. Covington 3. Milan 4. Liberty * Lexington loaded, coaching only ?, second yr let's see * Milan not as good as years past * Covington speed in backfield..williams,white & two others, give & watch run * Liberty ,decent because best option for public school in Jackson, so they get a few athletes
  9. as far as covington...i thought they were the better team last season and they are right on par with milan as the game played between them showed...that game could have gone either way...and another year under wheelers belt should put them over the top... Covington goes undefeated in 2012 regular season. Nothing to do with wheeler, when he was at ripley they(ripley) were basically the only team Covington beat in that time frame, then when he went to Cov well you guessed it Ripley won. outside of last yr he was on the losing side whichever that happened to be. Covington is just loaded with several fast(quick) backs, they're in an upcycle talent(speed wise)right now. Covington wins easily this fall in an untypically weak district for a second yr .
  10. District again for a second year not as strong as usual, however Covington gained alot of confidence in weak district last year and will benefit this year. Also didn't lose much. Several quick RB's return. They give it to em and watch em run. Rest of district doesn't have the athletes as Cov except Haywood Co & Ripley and they've been deplorable lately. 1. Covington (4A) will go 10-0 2. Milan (3A) down from yrs past 3. Westview (3A) 4. Dyersburg (4A) 5. Crockett (4A) worst team at CC in 10 yrs last yr 6. Obion Co (4A) good record last yr but didn't beat any quality opponents 7. Ripley (4A) 8. South Gibson 9. Haywood (4A) worst in school history 10.Gibson Co (4A)
  11. 14-AA 1. Lexington Big Red 2. Chester County 3. Liberty 4. Jackson South Side 5. 6. 7. JCM 8. FW However, doesn't matter 13-AA Covington will beat whomever 14-AA representative is in playoffs like last year. Talked to Covington people & they expect to go undefeated thru quarterfinals this fall. I think I agree.
  12. stacimots, no not a student of the game, have started and played many hs & ncaa games tho & know a little football. Know it enough to know JCM has been terrible. not disrespecting JCM football. The players & coaches that have been over there have disrespected JCM football. I also know East football. I know wayne randall who built east football and taught and coached wimberly everything he knows bout football. East has been mediocre lately. thought you were not talking about last year then you go & refer to east last year. Cause that's all we have to go on isn't that right. 2-8 is that respectable and the two wins against the worst two teams in HS football last year. the eight losses were mostly mercy rule run the clock blowouts. 12 yds a carry give him the ball score a TOUCHDOWN. Is charging admission to spring football permitted under tssaa? i hope JCM is respectable this fall. anyway my prediction. 14aa 1. Lexington 2. Chester County 3. Liberty
  13. stacimot, I'm not talkin about the past now. I'm talkin bout last night's game. You said Clark averaged 12yds carry but why lose with only 6 points? As I pointed out let him carry 7 times from the 20. Score every series. How you average 12yds a carry but score only 6 points and lose? Answer: JCM. or is that 12 yards a carry(JCM)stats equivalent to a legit two yards a carry. Again just messing with you stacimots, but you get the point. JCM district favorite.I'm a believer. You have convinced me. 2-8 why ya hate. For real stacimot you gotta be laughing.
  14. I see JCM's problem. Simple fix. It's right there plain to see. Clark averaged 12 yds a carry. JCM scored 6 pts. SOLUTION---Take a touchback. Take possession on the twenty. Give it to Clark 7 times. TOUCHDOWN!!! Seven play drive TOUCHDOWN!!! repeat... He also caught a lonng pass... use his 12 yds a carry at the end of the long catch, should only have to give it to him once on that drive..TOUCHDOWN... JCM peaseason favorite... Fayette Ware much improved as well instead of gettin beat 75-0 with a running clock only 49-0, no where to go but up..Better bring in extra seating for when play these two teams as well, they bring a crowd. I am just joking here guys. It is true tho.. however stacimot wont agree. stacimot i am just playing tho and ribbing you..all in fun ..just spell checkin your facts... Hope JCM is back....
  15. First of all I don't hate JCM at all. I do however hate the fact that some over there allowed a once prominent football powerhouse to crumble to ruins. And it has never been a lack of talent & players, only no direction, leadership, discipline, class , integrity, character or accountability.. Am I wrong. And I looked over at the 14aa posting, not in entirety but the last page and it appears others have the same observation as I have. Back to my first posting, I may be wrong but I know without doubt that it used to be against the rules to charge for Spring football. It may have changed. I know if I was gonna do it I'd know. No football I've ever been involved with has ever charged in Spring and we actually have had rather large followings. Secondly JCM doesn't bring a gate, they did years ago. And whether you know it or not JCM used to be a power and have a large fan base. Now they don't, isn't that correct. Thirdly they have had players and still do but are they gettin destroyed on the W's & L's and scoreboard. Yes. Like the guy on 14aa board said, JCM has won about 1 of every 20+ games the last several years and that is against the worst of the worst. These are the facts, are they not? Football, as well is more than on the field. It's teaching respect, class, dignity, integrity, character and the inherent qualities of citizenship & education. Is that not accurate?
  16. Dude are you in a dream world. You guys won 2 games last year. One against an 0-10 team that hasn't won in several years and the other verse a 1-9 team that was the worst team in that school's history & their only win was against the same 0-10 team you guys beat. Would you like to review(refresh)the scores by which you guys were destroyed. They were unbelievable blow running clock blowouts. Give the facts of the blowout scores. One of those two or both will beat you this yr. Lately, how much more lately do you need. And yall gon win the state this year though right?
  17. Article says admission to JCM-East Spring game is $5. I thought it was against TSSAA rules to charge admission to spring practice game. I know it won't matter, these two schools don't even have a following during the regular season. Who would pay to see them in Spring. They don't bring 50 people in the fall. Punish the one or two that come I suppose. Wishful thinking on someone's part, much like their season.
  18. 19-13 at Jackson Southside..will do bout the same at Ripley..Will lose to Dyersburg, Covington, Obion Cty, Crockett Cty on a regular basics and even lowly newcomer Haywood more often than not. Will win the usual against the lowest of the Memphis City teams. Hope they do better but that's how it looks. Maybe 500, However they do have some athletes, when the guy(Fheeler) at Covington was over there, i thought they had the best size & talent in the district but didn't produce wins, same results as above. The guy that was just there was the same, chaos, throw it up & hope something good happens. It's not do they have the talent, it's can it be reflected on the field. It's been awhile for Ripley. Craig is a good guy & hope he & the Tigers success
  19. The Craig guy(forgot his first name) that was at Jackson Southside to succeee the retiring Jerry Hayes only to be let go to make way for his return is now the coach at Ripley.
  20. The article provided on coacht by(via) so called Nashville Examiner.com has to make one reply wtf. The article reads as if it was written by a marginal seventh grade student. How does this sh*t get published or the better ? is how does these people qualify to be contributors to any media print or represent any level of media reporting
  21. We gettin new turf too, in about 6-8 weeks when that sun pops out & warms things up. Best on the planet. Like the famous Roy Dillard would say "you think i'm kidding but i'm not"...In all seriousness the Maryvilles have to keep up with the Greenevilles. But nothing better than the smell of good Bermuda & sweat and the anticipation of the Days of Fall in all its' natural state come late August.
  22. Speaking of reasonable ticket prices, for the playoffs & State Championship alike, $8-$10 dollars is ok for an adult but to charge $7,$8,$10 for kids is the problem. Kids are the future and the catalyst of the game and many parents refuse or are unable to attend playoffs & State Championships because of this. High School students & lower kids should be 1/2 of this. Many more families would attend and benefit the game.
  23. Nothing wrong or characterless with a little anonymous self promotion.
  24. Not good logic.. No way dropping from 8 title games to the four you suggest will increase attendance. Sure it'll provide a more legit State Championship but not increase overall attendance..While i agree it's too diluted now. Everyone and their mother basically make the playoffs. Private school(D11) State Championships are a joke, Basically win three games(out of a 8 team field) and you're State Champion. More like a district champion. DII begins the State Championship bracket with like 6-8 teams(2 or 3 with losing records. Embarrassing to call this a State Championship. State Championships today are not what they used to be, often 4 teams out of a 6-7 team district(DI) make the playoffs & many with losing records when years back only the top team out of an 8-10 team district made the playoffs( 3 State Champions for ALL Classifications now 8). A move to the great city of Nashville will be great, however more promotion and reasonable ticket prices will definitely help attendance at any locale. Needs to become an Event. Nashville without doubt will be best under any & all options. If not I'd like to see it rotated East(Neyland) Middle(Vandy/Titan or MTSU) and West(UT Matin or Liberty Bowl/MUS) or let regional High Schools in each region host on a rotating basics upon meeting certain criteria. This would encourage high school stadium improvements and benefit the schools
