  1. I have heard several people talk about the Hurd kid from Beech as I have the WB at Northside (Craig I think)....does anyone know what colleges they are getting interest from
  2. I would personally like to see us play Milan on the season schedule as an out of district game. I keep hearing that we are adding Henry county to our schedule as an out of district game. I'm all for a tougher schedule.
  3. I'll take my crow cooked medium please, Though I didn't get on here and exaggerate things like dhs accused me of, I didn't expect Liberty to win this game. Last night, Liberty was the more physical team across the board and better prepared. Giving you guys a 14 spot to start the game put us in a hole you just wouldn't allow us to get out of. I agree totally with rpack119 when he says that we have to develop more of a balanced offense that includes more passing. I would say passing the ball about one third of the time. We did pass the ball more last night, once we were forced to, but you could tell that we were not comfortable enough to execute in game situations. We've got to start opening up our offense more during the season and not just dong what it takes to win in our district. Its killing us come playoff time. I will add this, we still had our chances last night even into the late third quarter, early fourth quarter. We just couldn't get it done. Well done Liberty and best of luck moving forward.
  4. I'm not so sure about that statement dhstennis...."none of our teams in our district are as strong as they were in'09" ... maybe not all three of those teams, but I think Lexington is as strong, maybe stronger. We have more depth and team speed for certain. Our defense on the other hand might be close in comparison to'09, possibly weaker, and that could be what gets us. Offensively we are lots better than we were in'09. If obvious that our district is weaker this year than it has been the previous two to three years, and that's not a good thing for preparing any of our teams for the playoffs.
  5. Man I'm a Lexington fan, and I was at that game at the brickyard 3 yrs ago. No way did we almost beat Giles. Giles was a much better team than we were and they were more physical. I'm hoping, if we can advance deep enough into the playoffs that we get a chance to prove we can play with teams across the river. I'm a firm believer that we have a talented and physical team this year with depth at our skill positions. Keep it up BIG RED
  6. And for the record, I never said that no one could stop us. Matter of fact, if you seen some of my previous comments, you would know that I am very realistic and know that we are suspect to a good passing team. However, I do think its going to be tough for a lot of teams to stop our quick scoring attack. To many different weapons coming out of our backfield.
  7. Realistic and truthful??? Who are you kidding dhstennis? Other guys might get on here and blow things outta proportion but that was not what I was doing. Last time I checked, 1 out of 11 fumbles could be considered SOME. Get over yourself. I never disrespected your team by my comments.
  8. Haven't studied this closely, but at a quick glance, it appears that 12aa is well represented again this year in the second round. 14aa only has two teams remaining and one of those will be gone after this round 2 rematch of Lexington and Liberty
  9. I remember two years ago against White House, in the playoffs here, they had a great kicker then too.
  10. Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought regular season reserved seating was out the window during the playoffs. TSSAA playoff tickets don't have reserved seat numbers do they? Not trying to start a fight or take sides on this argument about a Milan fan, but I know my reserved seats are no good come playoff time.
  11. No doubt Covington is a great ball team, but I wouldn't say cruise to the gold ball. There are still some tough opponents to play once they win this next round. This winner of our upcoming game, White House is always a tough team, and whomever it is from east of the river is going to be as good as any team, if not better, we've got over here. I hope my Tigers make it to the championship game, but I'll be rooting for whatever team goes from the west.
  12. Slward and use2play4cc...how bout I save you guys a seat on our side next week. You know its much more comfortable on our side anyways...just kidding. I came and watched you guys at Covington last year. I actually enjoyed pulling for you guys and sitting with your fans. They even let me continue to sit there after I proudly announced I was a BIG RED fan. You guys get a few of your friends and help us pack this place over here. I look for the Tigers to win this one again. Our kids seem to be very focused and on a mission. I do expect it to be much closer than our last game at their place. They did fumble several times and the field was slightly wet. I do think some of the fumbles came from the hard hits we were putting on the ball carriers. I'm sure our kids will be up for Liberty as I'm certain there same will be true for Liberty players. If the game happens to come down to the kicking game, that definitely goes in the Tigers favor. We've got one f the best kickers around.
  13. Best of luck to the Eagles. I'm sure you will represent our district well. One thing is for certain, a win by the Eagles will keep the BDP posts at bay for the remainder of the playoffs and that's a good thing
  14. Knowing our program and coaches, I doubt very seriously that we held our breath. Not saying we were seeking your team out , but I'm certain there are enough unpleasant memories from last year amongst current players, that would've liked the chance to play you guys again. Who knows, it could happen later this postseason. Think we should both stick to our weekly opponent and not take any of them lightly. We all know that regardless of what happens in the regular season, the playoffs begin a totally new one. I expect our team to do well in the playoffs this year. Best of luck to Page as well.
  15. Being a Tiger faithful doesn't always mean we always pick our team to win everything. I understand there are some young guys that get on here and talk a bunch of trash talk and that seems to give our team and fans a bad image. However, Greeneville fans do the same thing as well as some Giles fans. Difference being, both of those programs have gold balls. We have a class program here with plenty of classy fans. Don't always assume because we have a few big mouths that we all are that way. I could say the same for a lot of other fans here. I for one believe that this game will go Lexingtons way easily. We have to much speed, depth, and discipline to allow SS to win at our place this year. I will be concerned though when we have to face a well-coached, disciplined passing team. A repeat of Page game last year in the first round won't happen on the first round this year.
  16. You guys picking Trezevant to be the team to look out for...they can't even compete in the playoffs this year because of their behavior during and after the championship game 2 seasons ago. Am I wrong about that? I thought they received a two year ban from the playoffs.
  17. Is this game a 7 or 7:30 kickoff and what's the address to Covington stadium?
  18. I know this game is being played at Maplewood. Can anyone give me any info on where Maplewood is exactly? I'm thinking of going to watch this game.
  19. I will add my two cents here as well. I am a lifelong Tiger fan...played there, have a kid going there now, and a couple more will go there in years to come. I want to say that I am proud of our team, and this group of seniors. They worked extremely hard, and as a former player I know the pain you kids are feeling knowing you may have played your last game of football. Keep your heads up guys. The lessons you learned in this game, are much more about real life, than they really are about football. I will say this to all of the posters that want to ridicule our team... Keep running your mouths, and stoop to the level of those that have offended you by doing the same. Two wrongs don't make a right, and by all indications, our "outspoken fan(s)" are probably not lurking these boards anymore anyway. Like one poster said, 10-0 is something within itself to be proud of. I have thought for the last couple of weeks, that something wasn't clicking right for our team, and that it would get us come playoff time. I didn't suspect that it would be so quick lol. Hats off to a well-prepared Page team. Best of luck to them, and the remaining teams in the playoffs. Let me add this though.... Most of us Tiger fans are very proud, yet humble football fans. We love our team tremendously, and support them through and through. Already looking forward to next years season.
