  1. Its "you're", but I'm definitely not. Thanks for participating.
  2. Before this thread goes off the rails anymore, I want to congratulate my friend Coach Harris on another gold ball. I'm sure he likes winning these games on his old stomping grounds even more, but I'm happy for him this year and can't wait to see them again in the semis next year.
  3. What does Barnett have to do with anything? If you're going to make an argument at least be relevant.
  4. He's okay, but I've never been an MBA fan. As far as a website, there's no pre-qualifications for any site that makes them the go to for all things recruiting.
  5. Mid State bias is real man and you can cite 247 all you want but I wouldn't call Barton Simmons the guru of football recruiting. As far as power 5 prospects, Alcoa has just as many believe me. It would only take #1 though to shut down about 70% of Oakland's run offense and if Rankin doesn't call the offense they could 100% beat Oakland. Sadly we'll never know and Pep is partially right.... These IFL arguments are silly, but talking about them doesn't make you a loser.
  6. Ah, the guy who talks about cookie cutter rebuttals whips out his own cookie cutter rebuttals. That's definitely a winning strategy.
  7. I doubt that. Look, I'm as big of an Alcoa hater (for one week at least) as there is on the planet but let's look at facts. Alcoa's had more players in Power 5 schools/NFL than Oakland ever has or ever will.
  8. I don't pay attention to that stuff, most college coaches don't either.
  9. Lord, open your eyes son.... I'll wait for the Goons to chime in on that one.
  10. If Buckles is playing and Rankin ain't calling plays, then yes Alcoa could very well beat this Oakland team.
  11. Are you implying Oakland is the much better team? You'd be way off if you are.
  12. They're definitely good, but not unbeatable. I know of 2 teams that COULD beat them if Oakland was on the road. Beating them at their house or a neutral site though, that would be tough.... Having seen both Alcoa and Oakland, I could see that IFL game being a nail biter. The only reason I'd pick Alcoa in that one is because they finally found a QB that could make Oakland pay. Oakland wouldn't run all over Alcoa either and that hybrid Wing T plays right into Alcoa's strength.
  13. We don't do it at all so there's no comparison. Fact - college coaches told JJ he would get the same "pub" at Oakland as he would at BA. So why pay the money to go to BA when he can go public for free? I get it and no one should really say too much negative about it if he lives in the zone (and I'm a Maryville homer). The issue with the tweet from the AD (or whoever he was) while not a good look isn't worth making him ineligible. From what I know from both sides (BA & Oakland) this was the move to make for him. Does it sting a little bit because we'll see him again next year (yes), but this stuff happens all the time in the Nashville/Boro area and as Maryville guy we just have to live with it.
  14. Okay Tom, it's not Sunday school but I know it verbatim. Congratulations to my buddy Coach Harris, he had his linemen ready for sure last night and we'll get them next year.
  15. Please enlighten me, how am I a spoiled brat with no class? Because I said the rematch will likely happen next year and follow the trend of previous match ups? If it's something other than that, then by all means educate me.... I'll have to go with Pep's opinion on this one, maybe you should pay less attention to the speck of sawdust in my eye and pay more attention to the plank in your own.
  16. Not sure what you're trying to get at here, but okay...
  17. Thanks dad, when I want your opinion next time I'll ask for it.
  18. I'm not sore FromundaCuck, just pointing out that yes while it was a running clock you seem to love riding jocks. I guess I shouldn't be surprised, but to each their own.
  19. Yes, we won't lose much. Proud of the senior class, one ring for each hand ain't all bad.
