  1. They would lose to multiple DII AA teams. I would surmise though some of their fans will soon show up here since all of the responses "no chance". Then we'll be back in a "private schools are this, that and everything" discussion as is par for the course on this site. Maybe CoachT could hold an "onsite members party" because i would really love to meet some of these folks. That would be a most entertaining nite.
  2. Wow, just wow. I thought i saw the dumbest post of the year in another thread but congrats you just won the prize. And your comment on their "white" butts? Now, it's way past your bedtime. Get off of your mom's computer and head to bed.
  3. Nothing to do with testy whatsoever. Just trying to respond to the inability to understand facts. This thread has resulted in some good laughs. You raise the MBA thing and all of the sudden it is a generalization about all private schools. Reminds me of an adminstration that makes up stories and gets the population riled up. Now for the ultra umpteenth time, why would you not send your kids to a good private school if you can figure out a way to do so. Every parent wants their kids to achieve more than they have. IN this state and many others , they will likely gain an advantage attending a private school. The colleges (good ones) concur. I've been there. Private schools are about so much than sports
  4. Good response Matt. It is amazing to me that this type of discussion just goes on and on and on not only on these boards but all over the place. "Privates give out full tuition!" "They recruit all of the time!" "Lots of kids are living with legal guardians instead of parents!" "Such and such told me or i heard such and such!" "They are paying under the table!" "Hardly any of their kids that play live close to school!" "They cheat!" It's not worth even trying to respond with facts anymore because they either don't listen, can't read (i guess) or simply want to believe what they want to believe. When a school and program establish themselves - football, academics, basketball, arts, another sport, or combination of all - the families find them esp when they want their kids in private schools. I said earlier in a thread, 8 kids from BA went on to play college football this fall. A parent sees that and sees their kid has talent and approaches a school on their own And, as i've said for the umpteenth time now, if a family can find a way to have kids go to a private in TN why would they not do that? This state ranks near the bottom in public school education. And colleges know that. With 5 kids, i've talked to many many admissions offices across the country as to how they break down our state in regards to academics. Anyway, good response. Curt, Cody or Ray Mullican would love to hear the "facts" from these gents as to how BA is cheating. Just had breakfast the other day with Ray. I'll check in with all 3 to see if they got a call
  5. I too have a hard time ignoring the ignorance permeating this entire thread. I guess we are doing what they want, they bait us and we respond. I would love to meet some of these people. They complain about kids going to private schools and getting an education. "Only about sports". Hardly. I have 5 kids that went and/or are going to private school. I would never have given one thought to sending them to public schools and it had absolutely nothing to do with sports. This is a state that is ranked what? 40th in public school education? From the remarks i read here, i can only imagine that some of them have not graduated from HS for heaven's sake let alone having a college degree. And you know what is worse? They get to vote in elections!
  6. You don't have a clue what you are talking about. BA stands are filled with former players at numerous sporting events not just football, incl my own kids who graduated. Same with parents who had kids attend there even though their kids have long ago graduated. At our baseball playoffs last yr, held after colleges were out for the yr, the stands were filled with former players -same with football and basketball. I've been at MBA/BA events and former MBA student-athletes and "former" parents are there. Same with Baylor and on and on. Tremendous tradition at those schools. I was just visiting one of my kids at college this past wkend and school officials i interfaced with even spoke about BA's tradition and community. And this is a college in another state. You guys type these comments and want everyone to think they are fact and you know what you're talking about. You don't.
  7. Good grief. Where do you people come from? I'm not an ensworth fan but this might be one of the dumbest posts i have seen on this board. wow, just wow. i'm speechless. Does your mom know you are on her computer?
  8. Well bigdog, i hope BA does turn things around. And yes there is talent in the pipeline - always has been. I would offer a word of caution however on the "most talent in grades 7-10 to come along in a long time". There has been a lot of talent. When last yr's graduating 2013 class entered 9th grade, they were touted as the class with more athletic talent than any in memory, esp in football and baseball. Won every MS c-ship there was and didn't lose a game in those yrs in some sports. The only state c-ship they won was in track. As you know, talent is just one piece of a c-ship team Kids touted as MS standouts many times are not even starting when they are jrs and srs and others have "caught up" with them physically or progressed faster skillset-wise. And i speak from experience with my own kids who reached their peak in 11th and 12th grades. Friday's loss was about experience in my opinion. All of that said, as we said the past many yrs in my family while my kids were playing, in dII it's all about the playoffs so you can peak at the right time and still do something there regardless of the regular season record
  9. Good question for both the E and MUS games. I'm sure other BA fans have some thoughts. I would say E's lines out muscled ours. Elder is great but that OL he had is also. New coaching/ 1st yr system for BA played into it - offense was pretty basic. I think there are also key times where they did not play as a team and we know how important that is. Sometimes relied on too few to make plays. And yes i think they underperformed. I'm not sure i believe in good or bad luck. Things go against you but things also go in your favor and you need to take advantage and/or deal with both. Those are my thoughts. No doubt they had the talent to go all of the way. As for E players moving on, others close to the pgm can give numbers. Yes more than Corn but don't know how many. They were good that's for sure. I guess we are moving away a bit from the essence of the topic and maybe i started that. DII does seem to be predictable. Maybe we'll get surprised
  10. Maybe we should just push for Ensworth and Alabama to play and be done with it. Both levels seem to be one horse races I'm not surprised where BA is at this point. They lost a ton of talent from last yr's team not to mention double digit starters. And of those starters 8 have gone on to play college football at schools such as Florida, Florida State, TCU, Navy, Air Force, etc. - all good programs. And at least 2 more likely could played if that had chosen to do so. Not sure any team in the state had 8 guys move to the next level. Tough to replace that amount of talent. BA Is young at many spots. I think it will be a rough got for them the rest of the way. Agree with your comments on McCallie and MBA. I think MBA has the best chance of pushing to the top.
  11. The bad news for BA, i hear barnett might be iffy for the upcoming future. 2 injuries and one is chronic. He has not been practicing. He might have made a big diff but a team needs to be a team. Regardless, hats off to FR - played a great game.
  12. Yep Will was called for a 3rd round pick and turned down the money offered
  13. I was there for the game after and saw the last 4-5 innings. Went into extra innings. F won by 1 run. JPII should have won. Bad call by ump ultimately ended up negating a run. it was a good game and both teams were exactly even across the board. could have gone either way. F plays BGA tonite but BGA used their best pitchers against us (Brentwood Academy) - that 3 game series just finished last nite so I'd suspect F will not face BGA"s top pitchers
  14. BA is also going out of state to play hoover and St X. and still looking for more games
  15. looks like you changed your post - hate to break it to you but tristate is not my son podner. he does not post and laughs at stuff like your baloney. i'm sure you'll have more to keep this going - have at it
  16. i knew you had to make another comment. once again a stupid post - at least you're consistent. my son posted nothing here - i did buddy. and my comments did not remotely say anything about anti-BA. Your comment as such was ridiculous. And i did not say anything about anyone "suckering" anything - only what occurred. But of course you were right on that field and know it all - oh brother. Pls restate the quote where i said anything about bias or where my son posted anything. I'll give you 1000 bucks if you can do so. you obviously have some comprehension issues. By the way - it's "there" . "Their" is possessive. Whew you are a piece of work and one that has some issues understanding basic english.
  17. This matters not one iota at his point and as such i've been ignoring this thread because BA lost and our season is over and nothing can be done about it. That said and at the risk of "outing myself", once you imply my son is a liar then i'm forced to respond esp as you were not on the field and have ZERO knowledge of what went on (nor were the b-casters). Like any good WR, my son communicates with the ref all of the time when lining up outside. You can see it on every game tape. And he indeed did so on the play referenced. He walked thru it with me and others. He gestured to the ref that he was off, also stated it and indeed got a response back from the ref. I just went onto hudl and watched it again and you can see him communicating with the ref (as you can on many other plays when he lines up outside). In fact in the 2 yrs my son has been on the field he has never had 1 penalty called on him. The coaches showed the boys even "tighter" film and it is even more obvious. I could care less about any theory about why it was called. It was and that's how it is. And as i said it matters not at this point - game is over and we are done, and we had plenty of chances to win but did not do it - one play did not make a diff in this game. And he had a great season even if it did end sooner than he wanted it to. You seem to think however that you have the market on what you think are the "facts" when in fact they are not the facts. Again i would not even had bothered to respond to your nonsense as i've learned from reading threads with your posts that you seem to be one of those who must always have the last word, but again you went over the line here. My son comes on to coacht just to see what is being discussed and he pointed out your baloney to me and said, "was this guy on the field? is he a coach? he seems to think he has the answer for everything that went on and wants to tell off everyone who has another opinion". As he said, I (my son) was on the field for the play in question - the poster was not. anyway don't disappoint me, get that last word in
  18. I know you're on a roll here so i don't want to let any facts get in the way so my apologies for stating a couple of things - there is not 1 student at BA who is "bussed in" nor is there one student at BA who gets "free tuition" nor has anyone from BA gone into middle schools to "recruit" kids - i know you like to think so but i'm pretty sure i'm closer to all of this than you are. And by the way, can't think of more than maybe 2 or possibly 3 starters on this fall's football team who live outside of a 15-20 minute drive to school - exact same commute as my kid and we live in the eastern side of B-wood. anyway - sorry for the interruption
  19. games are on our school website and hudl. and i like to experience the pain one more time
  20. my facts are quite straight buddy and yes you absolutely complained about the refs - read your post. and as for the 2 pt-er, your own replay on your jumbotron showed it (and i've watched it again) - i was there. and yes i think refs miss a lot. but as i said didn't matter in the end as we were outplayed. no one on our side thought it was a valid catch - only on your side - so you are wrong on the "refs missed it" and everybody thought was was a catch. you obviously have not reviewed the tape - i have. you won and you deserved it. i was responding to the fact that you said, "it's good that sanders TD did not make a diff". goes both ways buddy. as i said you deserved to win but don't make it into a "the refs almnost decided the game on the kickoff TD"...- not true

KW - you're right on. A post that had little thought. Sold our soulsl? yeah we all send our kids to private schools for football. Lol. I have 5 in private school and only 1 plays football. This state ranks 38th in public school education in the USA and we sacrifice to send our kids to private schools for football? yeah makes sense to me. I've visited multiple colleges with my kids (srs) the past yr and i am more than aware of how they rank HSs in TN. Sorry to disappoint the poster but other than williamson county schools the privates are at the top of the list. You can spout all you want but i'll be happy to send you a list of schools- villianova, georgetown, ivies, UNC, UVA, michigan, davidson, and on and on. Far more than football. I find it amazing that people think kids only attend PSs for sports. Sports end for 99.9% of kids- education doesn't.
  22. good grief - you win and you're still complaining about the refs? obviously you missed the calls that went in your favor incl a 2 pt conversion where your guy was laying on the white line (as you say go see the replay and decide for yourself) - many went in your favor. no matter BA was out played and you deserved to win but don't bring the refs into it. We were outplayed esp our defense. Sure hope you'll bring your A game for E. Would be nice to see another winner this yr. Your QB was outstanding - very impressive -sees the field on every play
  23. BBD1976 - just don't see BA pulling it out. Their D has looked awful the past 3 games. Corners were burned multiple times last wk against a team that is not the caliber of MUS. I'm as big of a BA homer as anyone but i just don't see it happening. And i've continued to be disappointed in our fan base (outside of the E game). we had hardly any students attending a home game for heaven's sake. You'll hear a pin drop on Fri in memphis. I think 2012 comes to a close Fri nite - will be a sad nite esp with my son being a sr. I hope for the best but we seemed to have peaked. plus on the road? tough to win always on the road
  24. they were #1 in one USA ranking.
