So which of these teams beat Henry County or Summit?

I think there has been 2 teams rush for more than 100 and 2 teams rushed for negative yards. Really hard to look at overall yards when starters were off the field in the second half in many games.

Don’t know - but would you rather drive to Knoxville and play West or stay home and play Cannon County in your season opener?

Well - I thought it was common knowledge WV and West had agreed to play but it fell through last minute.

Other than central - who else on my list has won in 5A over that timeframe? Don’t take my comments out of context. Never said we couldn’t play ball here, what I said Is there was a lot of talk this year that It was Powell, Oak Ridge - no it’s West’s - but no real thoughts given to anyone outside. Point being - have we sold other teams and regions short?

You have to admit - Knoxville has done a very good marketing job telling everyone In the state how good Powell, Oak Ridge, West, Central , South Doyle - etc are and how 5A runs through KTown - Walker Valley gave notice last week that you ain’t all that.

Well I give up. I’ve got nothing.

West still has home field advantage- WV may have offense, defense, special teams, coaching, team speed and athleticism- but West has home field and they can’t take that away.

I’m not insinuating - I am saying it. Don’t care where they came from or who hired them - I know where they ended up. Last trip we took in the playoffs to Rhea County is still used as example of how poor officials can take over a game. Their names hung on the wall in the coaches office for many years.

Yep - LC appeared to be missing some weapons tonight. Pretty sure we escaped injury free. Time to see what Walker Valley brings to the table. Guess we won’t be doing back to back Panther parties on Sutherland Ave this year.

Every other Region 3 vs 4 in 5A had a thread - so why not this one. Could this be the year of the 1 vs 4 upset? Which upset more likely - Lenoir City or Fulton win?

Probably so - but let West have it’s starting QB in the lineup and let’s have Catholic play their backup QB and let’s see how that game looks. Powell put up as many yards as Catholic did - and West managed to win that one.

They aren’t in the public school ranks, so they can recruit all they want - I have no issue with it. At least they are open and out with it - unlike some others.

Fulton has 4 losses to teams that have 25 wins against 3 losses and are all expected to make decent playoff runs. Their remaining games - other than West are 7-13. Don’t let that 2-4 Record fool you - never sleep on the Falcons.

Thanks - but no thanks. I’ve seen enough Maryville vs West games. Oh wait this is the IFL so yeah - Maryville is lucky that they are ducking us up in 6A. Why don’t they play some real competition down in 5A? But seriously - stay in 6A please.

Are you ready to hear my insights? My insights are your score seems to be off and your injury reports may have been off as well. I guess our strength of schedule meets your approval now or do you have a list of reasons to explain why you you were wrong on almost everything you said? That said - Powell is the real deal. Tough game - and they fought until the end. Really don’t want to see them again. Really don’t want to see them the next 2 years. West defense held Powell to neg rushing yards, 3 picks and 7 sacks. They bent - but didn’t break. Credit to West QB Baker Dance who managed the game well and showed his ability to rush when needed. He must have averaged over 10,yards a carry on the 5 or 6 times he decided to run. Would have had 2 passing TDS as well in it weren’t for a few drops.

Yes pure cakewalk - only hope we can keep the Powell fans out - seems to be our only hope of victory.

Pretty sure this is how West has sold tickets all year. Powell will be no different.

No starters missing on west d - no excuses Clinton earned their FG.

Well they had more than that on their first drive - and managed to do what only 1 other team has done - score on west’s defense. Clinton came out first quarter to play and they were not intimidated by the rebels. Clinton QB ran for his life most of the night - but kept the sacks down and made a few plays. Pretty hard hitting game.

I’m picking West by a trickle over Clinton.
