  1. From my perspective, this year's Pirate team is better than 2010. I think the biggest improvement was up front offensively and defensively. Pass defense may be the one Achilles heel. Our receivers burned them a couple of times but dropped passes that were on target and probably would've been TDs. Seriously...SP lines are way more aggressive. Must be all the hay bales.
  2. No more sore than the Wayne County fans will be. And I have as much a right to my ignorant comments as you or anyone else. I repeat, this game will be ugly...I fully expect the clock to be running full time in the third quarter. Go ahead and indulge the fantasy for another day that you have a chance against the Pirates. But mark it down...they will repeat as champs.
  3. This South Pitt team will win big. End of prediction. Wish my team was in this game, but they got outplayed by a physical, fast, and disciplined team. No need to wish you Pirates luck, don't think it will be needed.
  4. Sorry, Crossbones, this will NOT be the best team we've played all year. Not by far. It will be one of the better teams, but I think Smith County, Trousdale County, and possibly evenFriendship Christian are up there. Pirate ship sails on a lot of hot air when it comes to some of you posters.
  5. Lots to be thankful for: weather nice enough to ride motorcycle today without freezing my turkey-stuffed self, and Tigers playing football in just over 24 hours. And for an opportunity to play the Pirates at home. We are indeed blessed. Let's pull for our teams tomorrow and continue to thank the good Lord for all our blessings.
  6. Well, my travels took me out of G'ville today and I missed the radio show. I regret that. Always enjoy getting to hear coach talk about the game. Did they get Coach Grider on the show? They usually offer the opposing coach an opportunity to speak. On another topic, I had to pass by S. Pitt on my way to Atlanta. What's with all the construction at the exit. Gosh, I really wanted to get off the road and stop for dinner at Stevarino's. I think I have eaten there every time we've come to visit in the post season. Would try on the return trip tomorrow, but I imagine it will be closed for Thanksgining. Counting the hours and minutes until Friday's big match-up!
  7. You guys pulling for the pirates wear your black and we will have a sea of blue. Fitting, because after this game I expect a lot of boys will be black and blue (that means they'll be bruised for any "slow" posters). And I expect that'll be the case for both teams. Pumped up for a showdown we are here in Tigertown!
  8. G'ville fan here wishing a good game with no injuries to both teams. I don't know anything about OS, but have been to a few FCS games. This is a good Commander team, and regardless of all the talk about should they be playing, fact remains that they are. So, best of luck to both teams, but my heart is pulling for our perennial rivals...Go Commanders (just know you won't hear that from my lips during regular season.)
  9. I plan to be at Gordonsville and that other team.
  10. I never said it was going to be easy. Everybody I know up here in G'ville is bracing for an all out war. You should have confidence in your team, they have earned it. And I have the same for this group of guys. Furthermore, I think you are correct that the Pirates will be more physical than more than just some we've played. I am sure you guys have had a few of those in your schedule too. But we have played some physical teams too, and it has made us better. I would like to think the winner of this game takes home the gold ball, but I honestly don't know about the other two teams. One game at a time. This team here is in a unique position: they have never gotten to play for the gold. They've seen the one their dads and uncles brought home...but in their lifetime Tigers haven't gotten back to the big game. So I think they may be just a little hungrier...and with two VERY talented teams, that could just be the deciding factor.
  11. Appreciate the Photoshop work, but since the game is here, you might want to put Tigers in blue and Pirates in white.
  12. That Coen fella is a beast blocking too (as this feller number 1 from Eagleville discovered). And that Watson boy #16, who got five TDs ain't too shabby either. And that's just the tip of a big mean spear.
  13. Nor the thrill of victory...that was the best trip I ever took to S. Pitt!
