  1. Yea line is pretty good on both sides of the ball. They had the sophomore of the year at LB, and I hear that two lineman and two db's could be all state. Just heard that the sophomore qb will probably be the starter and the senior will move to WR, at 6-2" he could do pretty good out there. Interesting year ahead it looks like.
  2. Who do u feel will be OR 's biggest challenger in the district guys? From what I'm hearing it'll be Campbell County. Wow, I can't believe I even wrote that sentence, it looks weird. Lol. But seriously, guys at work say they've got 17 or 18 starters back from a 5-5 team that made playoffs last season. Two, really good qb' too. I hear they've got a couple RB's that their trying to get in the game plan of that run and shoot offense. Guy said they were just too good not to run the ball 15-20 times a game. Idk tho, they like to toss it around. What have you guys heard about potential challengers?
  3. Well, most of their fans come from Johnson city, since most of their players and coaches live their. Lol.
  4. Getting tired of congratulating u guys SS, but congrats! U have the program that our district is trying to become. Hopefully AC and CC can get there someday. I think you guys win it again next year but I don't think your margin of victory in district will be what it has been the last couple years(30 ppg)! I wish you still had Middleton because I think you need another big to win a couple at the boro, but I have been wrong before. Congrats again, see u at state.
  5. Lol. U can't even beat the team u stole players from and u think your going to come in and beat the most successful east TN team this decade at their place? Lol. I'll go out on a limb here and say OR by 15+.
  6. Well, I said a while ago I wouldn't want to play science hill. Looks like science hill and Oak ridge advance. Crockets season ends!!
  7. I'll take: Oak Ridge Heritage Maryville Powell. Would've chose central but I saw some things I didn't like when CC took them to overtime. Not same team I saw before xmas. Heritage guards will frustrate central all night. Karns could beat maryville too, but I had to go with coach E and karns is not a good tourney team the last 10 years.
  8. I'd like to scratch Farragut off my list since they under performed and drew Oak Ridge in region. Which means their season is over.
  9. LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ok, I just got back from changing my clothes from laughing so hard at this statement I pissed on my self. Best player plays for DC? Ok mr bball, where is this kid going to college? Bet you don't know do u? Well, I was there the night they played, sat near the ETSU coach for two days, his best offer so far is a walk on invite from the bucs. Higgins? Well, the mailman has bad to have back surgery hauling all those satchels to his front door. Not only can he go anywhere he wants for football, but this kid, who doesn't play the AAU circuit is getting SEC offers for bball. Now, a lot are offered knowing he's probably going to play football in college and NFL. So there's not a lot of public recruiting in bball, but make no mistake, the best player, plays for OR, he's 6-5 and a mr bball finalist, after being named mr. Football a month ago. As a matter a fact there's 3-4 OR players I'd take right now over Good. Nice little player, but he'd be average in our district. I won't even respond to the coach Good thing, it doesn't deserve one.
  10. Agreed!! They got every call!!! Plus, u guys had been on that world tour thing you do every year and I know their kids and they shouldnt get tired but, they do! Your definately the best team this side of crossville, idk know about this white county, that looks pretty good, and you OR people know Blackman is going to well coached and be ready. I see you getting their, then it's all about the draw.
  11. No, I'm not a big fan of these teams that take players from another school and are one year wonders. They better win all they can because they've got some real payback coming from some of those upper east TN teams. Plus, I have seen them play three times I think, and I've seen science hill twice. I said to my friend, I wouldn't wanna play SH at tourney time and I think they'll win it up there. I think DC has won 5 games in ot this year, sooner or later the odds just have to catch up to you. People up ther are PO'd that their little guard didn't make mr. Bball finalist, he's good, but not a finalist. So, i guess that's why I didn't pick them chad, but I did pick u guys. Lol.
  12. I'd like to see that rematch too. OR will win by 15 the next time they play!! Mark it down!! I went up to watch them play at Arby's. It was the worst defense that I've seen OR play in 15 years. Too much help, leaving wide open looks tha DC knocked down. I think they made 13 threes? That will not happen again. I look for someone else to guard the Guy from DC. Anyone taller than 6'0" will give home problems, plus u have to keep Gee out of foul trouble. I think OR had like a 9 point lead when gee went to bench and before Green could get him back in, DC had tied it up. OR is a totally different team when Gee isn't running the show.
  13. I'll take oak ridge, science hill, Sevier county, Farragut, around here. I agree with chill on the others.
  14. Congrats to both OR teams. Went to games last night and for the time change it was a nice crowd. Idk if it was because the girls seem to be back near lady cats standards but your right, you guys had a nice turnout last night. I know you guys have been so good for so long you can't see improvement in your teams because there's so little to improve on. But I noticed the CC boys team looked a lot more composed last night. My buddy said they had four guys out for season and they really have no depth. But, their main team is all sophomores and a couple freshman and couple jrs, no seniors. I know you guys won handily, but it was a good first 13 minutes of bball for cc, four point game I think. Then, the constant pressure took its toll. You guys have a couple JV kids that look pretty good too. The little chubby left hand guard looks like a player. Glad Higgins got that dunk, that's what people wanted to see, including me. Lol. Again, congrats and hope you were treated much better than in past games. Good luck rest of way.
  15. girls at 4:30 boys at 6:00. Girls are for first place in district.
  16. I'll go out on a limb and say Crocket doesn't win their tournament.
  17. U guys go to CC on Friday too. That's four nights in a row. !!
  18. Ok, I've tried to not comment on this but I'll throw my two cent in. The reason all these people are losing their jobs the fact that the incident was not reported to authorities at once!!! It's the law. It doesn't say when the tourney is over, it says immediately. That's it!! Then the clean up and cover up that followed has only compounded the problems. There has been a culture of this at this school for a long time, apparently. There's been reports of it that were not dealt with properly, from the top down. IMO, every school board, administration, and coaching staffs should use this case to educate and inform everyone involved with the school, even volunteer coaches, water boys, film crews, EVERYONE!! Mandatory you have to attend yearly, like the dead period, if you don't show, you can't be around the kids till you fulfill the class. Because as horrible as this is, and if you think it couldn't happen at your school, or something like it, your living in a dream world. Oh, may as well include the athletes in these meetings so they understand that hazing in any form will not be tolerated, PERIOD.
  19. What about the 6-2" seventh grader from Jacksboro. Runs like a deer, blocks and alters shots all day? Already getting college coaches to the games to see for themselves. Prolly a legitimate D1 prospect. Best post player to come thru middle schools in CC for a long time. Will be a four year starter for sure. Oh, I forgot to mention it's a GIRL!!! Dang it!!! Lol
  20. Lol. Well the guy that does the Campbell county games is great!!! If you can get by that he's a true homer for his team, he's actually pretty good. Gives it to the refs pretty hard too. Has some great catch phrases, knowledgable of the game, teams, and coaches. You can listen yourself at 1450wlaf.com. I laugh all night.
  21. Great points Nix!!! I think these " rural schools" are really going to have to start at the rec league levels in stressing the fundamentals and development more than winning. The coaches need to be teaching things the middle schools and high schools shouldn't have too, u know? Like jump stops, pivot feet, dribbling, etc. this would help all the schools you mentioned just be a lot more competitive. It will take years to catch up to what OR has established lately.
  22. Let me start by saying, Congrats to the freshman cats. With that said, this is partly why OR has been so consistent with their basketball program. It really started back in the Norris days as coach. You have to get kids some real game experience, that eventually transfers to the varsity level. It's probably safe to say OR is really the only team in our district that can field a true " freshman " team. If an AC, CC, Halls, Gibbs , etc.... Get a good freshman he has to play varsity right away. That's great if he's a Tee Higgins, and can handle the pressure of varsity ball, but for most it's on the job training, and sometimes can set a freshman back a little. Some don't even field a freshman team, and if they do, it's not with the ones that play varsity ball, for fear of injury. That why OR freshman have to play fultons, Catholics, grace, etc.. Because our league just doesn't have the luxury of OR. Does this make any sense?
  23. Thanks Cats. Yes their young. I don't know some of their names but they play hard. Experience is a hard thing to overcome. There's not a senior on team and three juniors so they should be getting valuable minutes right now and they'll get their freshman point guard back next season. He the best guard they have in the program. The Phillips kid was sophomore of the year in football and I think will be a presence inside for the next couple years. He kinda reminds me of the mulholland kid u guys had a while back, great football, and takes about half the basketball season to round into form. I thought they cleared the bench a little early too, but a loss is a loss no matter if it's 22 or 32.
