  1. The 1.8 multiplier is a student count and not an athlete count. It is easy for a private school to go out and get 4-6 kids regardless of how many students are in the school. Counting heads and counting athletes are 2 completely different things. It is an attempt to even things up but a poor attempt by TSSAA. Playing under two different set of rules.
  2. I never said no one had a chance to win, in fact I haven't posted on this subject. If one program is winning every athletic program that participate in at the state level then there is a recruiting problem going on. No one program should win that many states. When that team can select players or should I say students and reject other, then they should not be allowed to compete with public schools. Step up and play with the privates! I am not a Perry Co fan but I do send my kids to a public school. We play local league baseball and travel ball. Private schools competing with public schools is the same as a local league baseball all-star team competing with a built and recruited travel team. They are not on equal ground. My kids are not in high-school yet. Public schools are held to boundaries privates select who they want. How is this fair?
  3. Yep PROVES the advantage private schools have to offer over public schools.
  4. The whole Summertown team. These girls have pulled through a really tough year. Lost a teammate and a best friend before the season! Had an injury to a key player and they still continue to play at an incredible pace. Can't put your vote on one girl but as a team they are a lot of fun to watch. Good luck to them the rest of the season and wherever life may take them. Lord knows they have had a rough year off the court and played their hearts out on the court!
  5. Are the games in Waynesboro on a local radio station?
  6. All of them have a chance that's why they play it out.
  7. If the kids earned a starting position on the team due to talent, and they helped the the most as starters and this was set before the trip, I feel the coach quit on the team and the kids involved. In two games did the kids that started in the spots all the sudden get better? I see it as punishment to the kids that could hurt the team as a whole. The kids were starters because they earned it. They beat out the other kids to get the spot. Your argument is the replacements should have the spot because the others missed? And not because they earned it or did they earn it because they haven't missed a game. I understand responsibility commitment team player and all that stuff but life lesson are not as simple as black and white. We wish it was but we all have to work with situations daily that aren't as easy as black and white this is how it is.
  8. Really two high-school kids saved enough money to take themselves to Disney World. I'm guessing the family scheduled the trip. There are alot of variables that go into a family trip and not always are they easy to work around. I don't know nothing of the school or kids, in fact I don't know where the school is. Too often I have seen this happen where it goes too far with a rule or even a statement and lives are affected for no good reason. Make them run extra in practice, miss part of a game or something but loose your spot and say before they leave you have to re -earn your spot? Does the coach have to re-earn his spot after a day off? I deal with these things as a coach too every year and every situation has to be delt with differently. Kids don't control every decision in their life!
  9. Summertown is not getting any respect this season! Is it because they don't have the tradition of winning or meeting expectations? Last year the were under achieving for sure but this year they are playing very solid. Two losses to a high ranked Lawrenceburg team that has a tradition of winning. Played them to two tough games. Moore Co wasn't even in the game with Stown early in the season. These girls are playing very solid right now and it should continue through the season. They are a team with a mission this season.
  10. I don't see Stown blowing anyone of quality out this year. It not the style they can play with this team. Defense and lower scores will keep all games close for Stown to win. Could I see Stown blown out Sure! Games could get away from them if they don't play the defense as they should. You want see any double digit blow out expected with the quality opponents they will play.
  11. Stown 49-46. Chard played an excellent defense on Rhodes all night. Yes when Tucker gets back it will be a better Perry Co team.
  12. I was at the Stown vrs Culley game and Culley played well. They should not have won the came though. They won the first quarter after hitting a few 3 pointers and Stown didn't answer. Stown won all 3 other quarters and controlled the game after the first quarter. Culley did look good and could beat Stown any day but should not have won that game. Stown deserved the win.
  13. If Stown wins it will be a low scoring game. Defense is ahead of the offense at this time. If the big boys Sam and Seth can stay out of foul trouble Stown can win. Staying out of foul trouble has been a problem. Point guard play has been a struggle. Stown has to keep the score low to win. My prediction Stown by 4.
  14. You could tell how this game would be from the beginning. Maybe the tone was set by all the Lawrenceburg fans leaving after the girls game. I can't be Lawrenceburg would ever use the excuse rebuilding or lost to much talent last year. I'm glad these two teams are playing again and I'm glad Stown can compete at the level of a school 3 times as big. Great game experience with the crowd and the student sections. Little brother won the fight last night it's nice to get one every once in a while.
