@TheTruthPrevails response is spot on. 4 ISN'T our ONLY playmaker but IMO he is our best. Any play he could take it to the house if he gets even a small crease of space. About our line being "soft", a couple of us have been saying this for the last couple of years. Size hasn't been an issue for Marion County in recent years, but the lack of grit/toughness and having a killer instinct to beat lesser teams in a dominant fashion has been a issue of concern. This game last year was a good example as well as the playoff game.

Hoping for a good match up Friday night. We have been a jackal and hyde all year. Would be nice to put back to back games together against decent competition. Meigs has homefield and I would give them a clear coaching advantage. If I'm Fitz, my defensive game plan is to completely shut down 4, or limit him the best you can, and make the others beat you.

Maybe you need to change your name to Napoleon. You make a post complaining people are making one word post and then you get butthurt when somebody makes an actual detailed post. Don't think he meant for you to. Pretty sure it was said as a "we know how you feel this year" type of statement. I'm hoping this young group of talent can mature in the next couple of years and make a run at the gold. Just not sure that our coaching staff is going to put them in the best position to win or get the most potential out of them. We've had teams have successful seasons in the past with bad coaches, but I would rather have consistency that leads to a championship versus these up and down roller coaster seasons. Good luck to Forrest on the rest of the year. Maybe somebody from Marion has a voodoo doll made for Forrest. @GeneralForrest your comment about the injuries has some truth to it. It is a part of the game unfortunately and it's hit us hard two years in a row. I don't understand the posters from other teams coming in and just brushing off what our posters have said about losing Condra has done to this team. But hey, everybody is an expert here.

Hints why I said hopefully they have the same coaching staff throughout high school. That's me hoping that this staff gets it together and makes the necessary adjustments.

Hoping these growing pains will turn into valuable experience for this young players and HOPEFULLY they will have some stability in the coaching staff for their remaining years in high school. A win is a win but man o man, do they always have to be that ugly. Want to hear from the general. Looks like Marion posters were more on the mark than Forrest guys. Not a brag, more like a harsh truth

Really don't know what to expect in this one. Pretty sure I'm going to be listening to this one on the radio. Feel like our team is a box of chocolates this year, you never know what you are going to get. Kind of shocked to see the Forrest faithful predicting a loss for their team.

I thought I agreed with you when you said that. Maybe I didn't, memory isn't as good as it once was. Think I also predicted us to finish last in the region. As of right now it's Tyner at the top and everybody else is a tier below if not a couple of tiers below.

Good luck on the rest of the season BC. No matter how ugly it might have been, it's nice to finally get in the win column.

Tyrone, let me keep it real with you, if the seasoned posters with any semblance of a working functional brain believe there is any truth to your predictions, then maybe it is time for them to step away from the keyboard. Starkey is the head man, who is responsible for all of his assistants. Saying they are not getting it done x and o wise ultimately lands on him. I agree with powerp that the talent level hasn't quite been what it was when Ross and zeman/Walter's bunch was here. But it's been good enough to compete. Just because a team has size doesn't mean anything if they don't use it, or capitalize on it. If you kept up with us last year on the boards, a couple of us posters stated several times that our lines on both sides of the ball didn't have enough of a mean streak like they should. OP, there's only been 1 Eric Westmorland and it will likely stay that way for quite a long time. Condra was the bell cow for this team and losing him hurt this team big time.

Sounded like a hard fought game. Congrats to BC and @Bledsoebtheboys. I think you guys will put up a fight against Tyner if you all are at full strength by the time the game comes around. I think we will finish last in the region this year. Meigs sounds like a scrappy young team. Fitzgerald is a good coach, I think he will have you guys rolling towards the end of the season.

Ehhhhhhh if you say so. I don't think you guys can make your mind up. Everybody knows we have talent, even though the majority of it is quite young. If you are saying having the team leader go down for the season shouldn't have an impact, then we will just have to agree to disagree. As far as the shot at Starkey, I'm the type that doesn't believe it helps our situation by getting on here and bashing him. I will give my constructive criticism from time to time, but I'm not going to call for his head publicly after 2 games.

I like Dale, he is a good man and a good coach, but not great. Fact is, he has never brought home a championship as the head man. His teams are well coached and mostly very disciplined. He did a good job of adapting his offenses to the strength of his players. However, when you have a group of talented players in today's game, you need to push the envelope a little bit. Pruitt tried to run a spread offense in 2005, it was a disaster because he didn't have the quarterback or talent at WR. I think he was kind of shy to go back to that after that experience, but that's just my opinion. Can't believe you are that fond of Pruitt, especially with his record against yall. Starkey must have really rubbed some of you old fellas the wrong way. Especially rlh, you would think they use to court each other or something lol. We've had a series of unfortunate injuries coupled with lackluster play. This will be a growing year and hopefully Starkey can get some positive momentum going. As far as Dade goes, doesn't matter who is there. It's Dade, that is all. It's the most important game right now because it's the game on the schedule this Friday. I thought you fellas put us in the rear view mirror? Your post say otherwise.

Same story as last year. If our leader is out, this is a completely different team. Hope they prove me wrong but I don't see us beating good teams without Condra.

Nobody was wanting to build a statue of Troy after his first year. There was a lot of hope and positive momentum, but nobody had crowned him yet. He might turn out like his old HC, can beat the teams that MC is more talented than, but will lose against teams that are well coached and have just as much talent. So far, it looks like we will be lucky to get just that. Only 1 game into his tenure though, still a lot to he seen.

Would have been a better comparison to say they are similar to the Mac teams. Can put up points but can't stop anybody, especially the good teams. Wasn't really directed at you though, it was in response to @team69. The way I read his post, it sounded like he thought you calling us Tennessee meant we are world beaters.

Don't believe comparing a team to the Vols is a compliment. That's a program that's been average at best for the last 12 or so years.
