  1. U2ballnow -- The trip to Science Hill was pretty hard to make--particularly after that loss to the maroon munchkins--but I was very proud of our girls as everyone from District 4 should be. We gave the Lady Toppers more than they wanted and gave them the only real competition they had until they got beat by Riverdale in the state final. Our only regret is that our District did not have a worthy representative at state, as a certain team we know folded up and did not compete against the big girls. As for next year, the Lady Ads are coming back bigger and badder than ever! They are working harder and smarter to be more ready than anyone else! If more good players happen to be drawn to play in a good program with a good coach and a great group of girls at a great school in a great community, I can only say that their parents are making the best arrangements for their futures. No excuses for girls who know that they look good in Navy Blue!. The Lady Ads Always Win with Class--And Look Great Doing It!
  2. It is clear that everyone's Favorite girls' team should be the Lady Admirals of Farragut. They have a clear path out of Region 2 as they play a weak, wounded and worn out little Bearden team who they will wear out even more tomorrow night! Then they play whoever makes it out of upper east Tennessee on their home floor. The Lady Ads have great attitudes as they play as a team with total hustle and great senor leadership. Riverdale and Science Hill may have some athletes, but it takes more than that to win a State championship! It takes heart. And the Lady Ads have more heart than any team they will face! The Lady Ads Always Win With Class--And Look Great While Doing It!
  3. I agree with all of you. Walsh is not a well rounded player. She doesnt know how to pass to her teammates or move without the ball. I think that everyone who really knows basketball knows that the most complete player in the area. is Mad n" Bad Madison Blevins! She can defend score dribble and pass. She makes everyone around her better. She is not a ball hog. And she plays for Farragut! The Lady Ads always Win With Class--And Look Great While Doing It!
  4. Once more I predicted it. The Lady Admirals totally dominate the Powell Pantherettes! It was something of a surprise though to see the Dog-girls squeak past Heritage again. I can't figure out how a team so undersized and inferior manages to win games against such superior conpetition. We are sick and tired of having to beat them all the time. In any event this stage will be over soon as we prepare to humiliate the Dog-girls prior to their ultimate destruction at the hands of Science Hill. We only have to be gratefull that we get to pummel them first! The Lady Ads always win with Class--and look Great doing It!
  5. Well. It does look like Monday night will be a good night for some Blount County girls as Heritage will trounce Bearden! It is astonishing the Lady Mountaineers, who are larger, more athletic, and more skilled than that under-sized maroon bunch, ever lost to Bearden this season. However, the Dog-girls will soon be put out of their misery and Heritage will move on for the moment. Therefore, it will be a better night for the Lady Ads who are going to destroy Powell before moving on to their coronation as Region 2 Champions! At most Heritage's girls get a trip to scenic Science Hill. The Lady Ads Always Win Wtih Class--And Look Great While Doing It!
  6. Govman surely has it right on one count--the Lady Ads are going to destroy Powell. It will not be close. As for the other bracket, Heritage is a much more talented and complete team than Bearden so the beatdown should not be called an upset. Bearden has only won as many games as it has due to smoke, mirrors, and referees calls. That comes to an end Monday evening. Heritage's season will end soon thereafter in Johnson City. The Lady Ads are a lock for state. There is no reason for it to be otherwise. The Lady Ads Always Win With Class--And Look Great While Doing It!
  7. Great article in the News Sentinel about how Coach Mayfield and the Lady Ads are just where they want to be--relaxed and focussed with Bearden in the crosshairs! And like u2ballnow says, its no surprise that good players leave Bearden all the time. Their coach plays his favorites-and not the best players. Farragut's coaches have always had standards and always expected their girls to behave like ladies--but the best players get the most playing time! The Lady Ads Always Win with Class--and Look Great While Doing it!
  8. The results are clear, u2ballnow, the Lady Ads are going to Murfreesboro. The Lady Dogs are buried on Monday and in the first regional game. They stay home. Friday's game showed our Lady Ads at their usual dominant best with a deep, talented bench and great senior leadership. They bulldozed another opponent and played the game the right way. Coach Mayfield put on a clinic. Waiting for the boys game, you almost had to feel sorry for Bearden's girls, as they played a sloppy game but lucked out a win against a superior Heritage team. They are down to seven players-mostly freshmen-after running off or injuring the rest of their team. The few left lack the athleticism, team spirit, or toughness to compete. Monday they will be toasted by the Lady Ads. It will be a walk in the park. Then, when Hardin Valley ends its season at Science Hill, Farragut plays for a State Championship! We will enjoy the ride. The Lady Ads Always Win with Class--And Look Great Doing It!
  9. Basketball is a funny game. Sometimes a combination of things--bad calls, wierd bounces, and a shot or two not dropping come together at the wrong time and an weak team lucks its way into a win over a better team. That happened last night. It will not happen again this season. No complacency. Nothing will be left to chance. The Lady Ads will trounce their opposition--starting with Heritage and those maroon imposters to the east next week--then all the way to The 'Boro! Maryville will destroy the macaroons next week, then in Region and travel to Johnson City to be whipped by the Lady Toppers. Lady Ads roll and rule the District and Region. They will be the ones who go on to State! Get used to it. You read it here! The Lady Ads Always Win with Class--and Look Great While Doing It!
  10. Well, looks like a REALLY BAD NIGHT for the Blount County Girls tonight! Everyone knew that William Blount was going to be steamrolled by Farragut (no girl on any of the Blount County teams could start for the Lady Ads). But who could have predicted the Catholic and Bearden wins? Maryville must have folks out sick--to lose to a terrible Catholic team. And I can't imagine how a very talented Heritage team lost to Bearden--particularly after they had played them once and knew how one dimensional they are with only one decent player. We had hoped that district games would get us ready to go to state this year--but it looks like we will get better games playing against out own JV. Those kids can play! THE LADY ADS WIN WITH CLASS--AND LOOK GREAT WHILE DOING IT!
  11. Well, as predicted, the Lady Ads just torched William Blount--no contest! Two surprises though--Catholic beat Maryville and Bearden somehow got past Heritage. Given the players that the two Blount County teams have, and Catholic and Bearden don't, it makes no sense at all. As for the teams upstate, time will tell. Farragut will be playing at home in substate, so whoever comes to visit is not going to have those homer refs that they somehow find up there. The Lady Ads are showing their strength and maturity as they hammer down through district. They will be ready--no mercy from here on out. The Lady Ads Win with Class--And Look Great While Doing It!
  12. Since, as we all know, the Lady Ads are most likely to sweep through district and region, they are not likely to have to play in Johnson City. But even if they did, it is not clear that Science Hill would win. Tennessee High almost beat the Lady Toppers a few days ago--and the Lady Ads are better than that. The Lady Ads are on a mission. There will be no mercy. THE LADY ADS ALWAYS WIN WITH CLASS--AND LOOK GREAT DOING IT!
  13. U2bballnow has it right. The team to the east is just 1 player offensively and their point falls apart when pressured! And as Furybballdad says, the Lady Ads are loaded with senior leaders. They are not going to fall behind again-especially since the Lady Ads won't have to overcome the homer refs who gave that game away with phony fouls! We are now set up to sweep district in style. However, after having seen everyone in district play at least once this year, Furybballdad is too early saying the race for second place behind our Lady Ads is over. Four other teams in district (Heritage, Blount, LC, and Maryville) are primed to knock off the eastern pretenders in season and in tournament. All four have more better, faster athletes, who can play with more hustle for a whole game. They are all more balanced and not one dimensional. It is just a matter of who wants it most. The next two months are going to be very interesting, and a lot of fun, especially for Lady Admiral fans! The Lady Admirals Always Win With Class--And Look Great While Doing It!
  14. The fact of the matter is that the zebras gave that game to a lesser team playing at home. The Lady Ads were called for ticky tack fouls that got our post in trouble while the other team was getting away with hacks and travels. The refs were probably intimidated by that obnoxious and out of control student section. Knox County ought to move unruly mobs like that away from the court where they cannot jump out of the stands and influence the game. They were even worse during the boys game! In the longer run the loss, though painful, was probably a good thing. Our Lady Ads now know that they can't take anyone lightly, even when the rest of the teams in our district are having a down year . The Lady Ads will now leave no doubt and homer zebras won't be able to change the result. You do have to give that other team some props though for playing way above their talent level. They probably can not believe their luck! Look for things to be very different in the coming days. That other team is going to lose at least three more times in District and the Lady Ads are going to grind it in. Payback will be legendary. The Lady Admirals Always Win with Class--And Look Great Doing It!
  15. For those who thought that Heritage had a prayer against the Lady Ads, I have but one thing to say-- I called that shot. The Lady Ads just have too much hustle, heart, and veteran leadership for the other teams in this District. And our new coach is clearly the best at this end of the state! Bearden is next on the menu--Toast! The Lady Ads Always Win with Class--and Look Great While Doing It!
  16. It is sad that the usual nabobs of negativism choose to attack the Lady Admirals than to celebrate the fact that Tennessee teams won every division of one of the leading holiday tournaments in the Southeast this year! As you can see from the story about the finals on the Peachstatebasketball.com website, it was a great tournament and every division had strong teams. ... I was not able to say whether there was any clear difference in the divisions. All had DI athletes and good coaches. It's just that our Tennessee girls were clearly the best. Coach Mayfield showed why he will be Coach of the Year in his first season at Farragut. Farragut's veteran team was completely dominant. As we shall be throughout the season. That is why everyone knows that-- The Lady Ads Always Win with Class--and Look Great While Doing It!
  17. The Lady Admirals are riding the 'Ship after a big-time tournament win in the ATL! Gonna continue our roll through District 4! #nocompetition/completedomination The Lady Ads Win with Class--And Look Great While Doing It!
  18. With all due respect to Midnightghost, but we in District 4 are entering the Real part of the season. Heritage has been exposed. It has the potential to beat the lesser Knox County teams in our district, but is not up to playing a complete team like the Lady Admirals! They should not feel bad about this, because the only team in town worthy of giving us a game this year is Fulton. Heritage should put aside its phantom fantasies. They have limited talent at post, but don't play solid defense and their guards can't handle pressure or shoot off the dribble. These are all areas where the Lady Ads excel. It astounds me that Midnightghost brags about Heritage after losing to an undersized team that everyone knows will be roasted by our girls next week. But, at least this year, that school to the east isn't so foolish as to think its girls can compete with the Lady Admirals. That team has one decent player but not much experience or depth. Without real upperclass leadership or much competition on their schedule, those girls can't hope to hang for four quarters with a complete and battle-tested team like Farragut. But at least they know it. You would think that the rest of the teams in District 4 would have also figured out their place by now. The Lady Admirals win with class--and look great while doing it!
  19. I think that we all can agree that Farragut is the better team--better coached, better athletes, with better conditioning, greater skills, and more hustle. Those who think that there is going to be a battle in west knox are living in the past. When Bearden lost their point guard last year they lost the only player on that team who had any heart. Bearden is not going to be ready to play at the Farragut level--then they will roll over and quit. This year they lost to Willie Blount and even a 2A team! This year will ultimately be like last year. Farragut will be the Queen Bees, Maryville will get its act together at the finish, and Bearden will choke again and end up as the Wanna-bes! Once again, I call the shot- Go Lady Ads!
  20. It hurts to say this, but it looks like there was a temporary bump in the road in the Lady Ads' drive to state--that was JJ MacGlocklin. As a supporter from a school where the fans have class, I have to congratulate her for the win in District. Though the Lady Ads clearly were the better team, she was a better player tonight--particularly since the refs were calling fouls on Farragut when she was clearly committing charges. Anyway, while we expect that her and the team to the east will be handled by Maryville or Powell in the Regional tournament, we wish them luck in the coming days, because we want to even the score against them in the championship. With Ms. M smothered by relentless D, her inferior sidekicks will be helpless to score. And I predict that she will foul out next time we meet because she will no longer have the advantage of homer referees (Where did they find these guys?). Revenge will be Legendary!!! And we will send her and that whining coach postcards from Murfreesboro!
  21. It is kind of pathetic that the supporters of all the other teams in our District can't stand up for their own girls by pointing our their accomplishments in a positive way. Instead they have to bring up the strengths of teams in other places. It is kind of like the weak wussy little girl who recognizes that she can't compete against a Lady Ad who says, "Well, my brother can beat yours." But I guess that is just shows how the other teams in this District know that they can't conduct themselves with the class, tradition, heart, or work ethic that is the hallmark of a Farragut Lady Admiral. Our girls know that when they walk onto the court with a Championship on the line, the Lady Ads are going to win--and look great while doing it. It must be intimidating for other teams to know that they are facing humiliation, from the moment they look down to the other end of the floor. As far as facing potential losses down the road at the hands of teams from Science Hill, Clarksville, or Morristown, that remains to be seen. What is certain is that the Lady Ads are going to go through a certain team to the east like a hot knife through Fatty Butter! We will then win Region and take it from there. We will face those tougher teams down the road because the Lady Ads are worthy and have worked hard to earn that right--unlike a certain school to the east that found its way into a good spot it knows it does not deserve due to bad ref calls, a few lucky underclassman shots, and smoke and mirrors. Their time--and that of their wet behind his big ears coach, is coming to an end soon this season!
  22. Despite horrible referees, the Lady Ads took their next step toward the State Tournament by throttling Maryville. They will follow it up on Monday night with another total humiliation of an overated Bearden team in its own gym! Smith and Blevins, the best guards in District, are District 4AAA's True MVPs and are now on a mission to show that scruffy upstarts and an inexperienced coach cannot play with the Big Girls. This will be even more clear when Bearden's season ends dismally in the Region 2 tournament. Meanwhile, the triumphant Lady Ads, as Region 2 champs, will host Morristown East in Substate, while runner-up Campbell County goes to Science Hill. Thus, the Lady Ads will go to state, where anything can happen, and will probably not face Science Hill until the final game. We might even send the little girls to the east a post card from Murfreesboro.
  23. You can write it down now. Farragut will be the Region 2 Champion. Our girls will dominate Maryville and Bearden--as we have before this season (with one small lapse where the refs stopped calling fouls on a certain team to the east). We will also put an end to Campbell County's season the same way we began it--by beating them like a drum. We then would match up well with anyone from Region 1. Farragut is battle-tested and has played in more close games against more ranked teams than any of the top Region 1 teams. We have not run up scores by playing cupcakes. The Lady Ads are big, strong, athletic and well conditioned. While grandadone's assessment that Region 1 would rule would be true if Bearden were to represent our district, that will not occur. Bearden's girls are unworthy and will be lucky to get past William Blount! We look forward to some good games--then it is off to state for the Lady Ads!
  24. There is no need to gloat over Farragut's win--it was expected. And unlike other teams, our girls do their talking on the Court. And in their last game I think everyone got the message. Some have wondered why I wasn't on this board after our win. The answer was simple--we were celebrating. Besides, I have a life and have a few things to do besides support our girls on message boards. They don't need it. They have already proven that they Dominate this District--and will make it even more clear as they win the Region and move on to Substate once again. As for those who think my comments on lesser teams are unpleasant, I don't understand why they think that-- as we have shown, its just the truth.
