  1. " I don't see anyone making it past the quarterfinals this season. " I dont disagree with you. My question is why? What is different for Williamson County that it seems to have lost its luster? Curious what folks think. Again, playoffs will tell alot if there is a trend toward mediocrity in Williamson County these days.
  2. Well Spotlight, if you are right then you are describing IHS, BHS, and RHS as well because ALL of these times are comparable. But for a turnover here or blown play there, they are one and the same. Guess we will just have to wait for playoffs to see who is right.
  3. Criminey! We lost! It was a great game. We came up short. We are still a good team. We dont need to be a bunch of whiners. And that same argument can cut both ways with some wins we eked out. Bottom line-we have won 7,lost 1 and hope to finish 9-1.
  4. I guess it was to talk football and not open wounds. But if you want to stir have at it. Seems most posters are interested talking football and about the programs. Might want try twitter for your chatter. I do agree that BHS will be our first real test. As far as 7 on 7, it is no more indicative than a controlled scrimmage. It does reflect potential for a program. I caught some of the games and it a chance to see what opportunities the programs have and resoective talent.
  5. I think Casual Bystander is trying to stir a pot. There was never any talk of the programs going in different directions, just the unceremonious dumping of a successful coach by a wellllll...let's not travel that road again lol. I hope you are right that the Rebels are headed in the rigjt direction but I wont start tooting my horn after these wins, I'll wait for the Indy, Brentwood, Ravenwood and Centennial games.
  6. Interesting stuff BackinTn and Casual. Too bad if that is the case. If Indy cant play as a team, they wont be successful but watching them at Vandy 7 on 7, they seemed in synch. Im ready for some fall ball.
  7. What was indicative of that conclusion? Sounds like petty jealousy. I saw him play twice last year and I saw nothing like that on the field and in one game but for him, Indy would have lost.
  8. If I recall, in 2008, Hillsboro with Blades beat FHS with Clayton in the finals at VU. Hillsboro went on to win State and FHS lost in the State finals. Of course, other factors play in it too. TN teams are at a little disadvantage because OH teams and I believe AR too have unrestricted play all summer. HIllsboro had its game on but Blades has Independence playing stellar. And Coach Hester's group looked good as well. Kudos to them too. I know this James Franklin was drooling over the talent yesterday lol.
  9. FHS picked no. 1??? Would be nice but we'll see. Buddy told me the OC left for Oak Ridge so I wonder who is runnin the offense. Bein optimistic.
  10. Trailer park chatter??? Geesh. I dont care for the TSSAA wannabes seeding committee. The goof over in East TN leaving out a team is proof enough. Not sure it matters though because at this level, the cream usually rises to the top. I know this trailer park chatter is all relative because I think my BA buddies feel the only reason a kid would play football at BHS is because they wouldnt have playing time with the Eagles. I guess one man's trailer is another man's school on Granny White. I'm just ready for some football and want to see district 11 show their stuff. Good luck Centennial, Indy, Hillsboro AND Brentwood.
  11. Congrats to CHS and HHS making the playoffs. Sounds like that game was a humdinger; I was at another one. Also congrats to HC Clayton, AHC Murphy and DC Lopez on a great first year with the Burros.
  12. Well HighLife I stand corrected. You did pick that one. Agree with it too. Old age makes it harder and harder to see
  13. Looks good HighLife cept you didnt predict Beech/kenwood. Was that a tough one for ya? HHS beat Centennial last night and they are seeded higher? TSSAA is such a joke and a bunch of wannabees.
  14. Someone please send TSSAA to Oz for a brain. The seeding makes no sense. Schools will eventually wise up, clean house and take control of their programs again.
  15. "Colton has been out for the year since the first game with shoulder injury, receivers are sophomores and Matt did well but never met level everyone wanted for him. Donny is out of real play makers this year, very young team with a lot of work to do." Ouch! Glad you arent coaching the team with that negative review. Smile. Anyway, you missed the point. I was discussing returning talent level not a weekly injury report. All teams have injuries. As far as Matt K, I understood he was offered a D1 scholarship with Syracuse. Not to shabby for a kid playin baseball a few years back. Whats funny is you are sayin these kids arent meeting expectations yet you make every excuse imaginable for the coaches. Sorta hypocritical. Off to Pucketts.
  16. Sayittomyface...on 3 yr period..good points. I agree. Clayton is gone and he aint comin back as long as WD is there. Anyway, I bet he retires from HHS and hands the reigns over to his assts. Letting personalties clash and firing Clayton was a mistake in my opinion and I just have to agree to disagree with some posters. I am not sure about the talent level excuse. Colton returned. Quality receivers returned. Sure there is a soph QB but he was a QB to start. Gotta remember that Clayton and Murphy took a baseball player and turned him into a Dandy Dozen pick. Matt K. Still DW needs a break to work out the kinks for his program. Ill be patient..for awhile. What choice do I have really??
  17. "think the real judgement of a staff is going into year 3... That's when the majority of your players have been in your systems for most of their career" I agree High Life. Learning systems, dealing with booster organizations, coordinating schedules, and adjustments to the new school. First year is grace. Second year, looking for positives, third year needs to be trending positive. It's not a business but a bureacracy with administration, parents, boosters and dealing with kids too.
  18. Lost to Lawrence County.. Ouch. Franklin ship could be sinking,.. HighLife...did you go to the game? Why the comment could be sinking? I think everyone should give these first year staffs a break. If you ever coached, you will know there are adjustments and intangibles regardless of the talent bull...heck, even Sabin struggled his first yr at Bama. Next year will be a measuring stick for ALL of these coachimg changes for all schools.
