You have got that right. They are a Southen California private school with an enrollment of 2200 9th-12th. They have been extremely successful since the 80's with the same coach. BA has a 9-12 enrollment of just over 400, so they will be "Davy Crockett at the Alamo". On top of all this - they have got to deal with the fact that "lionfan" is rooting against them.

It was more past Brandan, than over Brandan. I thought the dunk emphasized quickness past Brandan more than leaping over Brandan. Anyway, he came up about three dunks short by my count.

That is a good question! The blocked shot may be his legacy. However, some people would argue that being voted "Most Valuble Player" in the state tournament at least twice, while winning at least two state championships may be up there as well. Who knows - he and his team leave to play in Southern California tomorrow and he has a couple of more states to play in. He may find another thing or two to put in his legacy to go along with that blocked shot. It is great to have a judge of "NBA caliber" contributing.

Which of the statistical facts do you refute? Brandan takes only 7 shots MAKES 6 (while his bench is kicking butt 22-2). He is perfect from the free throw line. Outscores Tyler down the stretch even though Tyler has launched 18 shots. Don't just talk about bias tell us why. "6 points in the second half" - what do you consider shut down? That was about 5 points short by my calculation.

I agree with you. It can be puzzling, depending on how you look at it. I understand that the whole idea to move it to Vandy was his idea. So, he threw this big "party", with some doubters (even internally) and it was a huge success with many people (including some VIP's) coming and having a great time. With this being said, I think he made the statement at the height of his excitement at the conclusion of a win and the obvious success of HIS big "party". This is all theoretical, of course.

Or, HEY, here is a theory!!! You have basically no actual facts to fuel your post. They did not get the gym for free. It cost 2K, which is a discount. You have no clue what so ever regarding the gate receipts. BA students and admin did not pay for instance. Hunters Lane High School manned the concession stand. I am sure the atmosphere, the great men in attendance and the money all figured in to Coach Flatt's opinion about the night. After 35 years of "Brentwood Academy nights" Coach Flatt is more than qualified to give an opinion. You have demonstrated (based on your lack of regard for relevant facts) that you are not.

Why did you post the team score on your updates? I think the average Giles County fan is just that: a GILES COUNTY FAN. They wanted Tyler AND Giles County to do well. I think you are...let's just say "unique". Last year I would have traded a poor Brandan performance for a BA win (I know Brandan - he would have too). I guess we are just different, but I contend most of your fans are like me in this department and not like you.

Yours is a good point as well. However, if they draw 1400 again this year and they played at BA, they would have to leave 200 people outside. So, it means more to them that everyone that goes to the trouble of coming (especially the people from Giles Co.) gets to see the game, than making money. They may only draw 800, but they are giving up money and a home court advantage to make sure.

Well, think about it. BA is not a "for profit" organization. They have a Nike deal so the basketball program is not starving. They know there gym is too small, which is not Giles' fault. They care more about being accomodating than they care about the money. Not everyone is greedy.
