  1. Hickman Co. may spank CW who knows. But no doubt that last week against Cheatham, CW was playing injured to say it best. That's part of football and CW has to fight through it. But if CW can get healthy before Friday night I would suspect that you will see the CW team resembling the one that beat DC and not the one that lost to Cheatham. That team will give Hickman a tough game. CW will have to watch out for Roberts, Hill and Patton as they are 3 good players. But CW is decent if healthy. Could be a good game.
  2. Never said we were great and going to beat everyone we play. BUT what do you expect when we have a young team? For you to say what you said isnt saying much..considering we did almost be Houston and we did beat Perry. Not bad for a young team. 57 points in 2 games isnt bad either. Obviously with as strong as our district is..it will be a rough road but its all about getting better as a team and playing our best and hopefully producing wins. Maybe as young as they are next year will be a good year. In the mean time...we will keep working and hopefully shut haters like you up. Not a hater just a realist. Love Coach Graves & think he's a good coach and enjoy speaking to him when I get the chance. When you're young the goal is to get better and I would suspect next year that Waverly will be better. But this year is tough. Best of luck to you the rest of the year. I will see Waverly a few more times & I hope they're getting better every time.
  3. Sorry you take offense FlowerPower but I've seen Waverly. Very young team with a couple athletes but not very good. The fact that Waverly had to come from behind to beat Perry Co. is just another sign that the team is way down this year. Unfortunately in. 11-AA could be a long road for you this year. Maybe you have taken over for Papatiger wearing the rosé colored glasses. I'm all about rooting for your team but be realistic about what you got. Unless of course you are a coach at which time you shouldn't be realistic with your team. But of course you shouldn't be getting on CoachT if you're a coach either. This is just all IMHO of course.
  4. I think it's a little of both and/or a little of neither. Bruceton has as much speed at the skill positions as any Single A team I have seen in a long time. They don't have much of a passing game but with that speed don't need it. They do have a little problem holding on to the ball. But their skill players will keep them in games and cause people problems. Defensively they will struggle against better teams. McEwen outplayed Bruceton in the first half and should've had the lead. But they made some poor offensive decisions. In the second half the offense kept making too many mistakes and put the defense in bad spots. Eventually the defense made some bad reads and have up too many big plays. When you play a team with that many skill players you cannot make as many mistakes as McEwen made. Bruceton will have a pretty good year. I think McEwen is a little better than they looked in the 2nd half but they have to cut down on the mistakes or it'll be a long year.
  5. I thought that Houston Co. would carry last year's success over to this year and be pretty decent again. But the fact that they gave up 31 points to a Waverly team that can be described as awful at best is concerning. There is no way Waverly should score 31 on any team in the State. If Houston Co. lost some key injuries it could be difficult for them @ Stewart Co. Moran is tough but I would think Stewart Co. will be decent with Findley at the head spot.
  6. AWESOME! thanks for sharing
  7. The earlier post explained it. Although the multiplier puts them in 3A for football you can by rule only be moved up 1 class. Thus they can only be forced to play 2A in football. that makes them by rule 1A in baseball/softball/volleyball/everything else. Goodpasture could have elected to play up, which they had done in the past, but this time they decided to stay down. So for the next several years all the non-revenue sports are going to have a tough time with Goodpasture in A. There should be no reason that they don't win the softball and baseball State championship for the next several years and volleyball will be the same. Just TSSAA allowing this to continue to happen. But I digress, that is how they move down to A next year.
  8. I'm an outsider looking in other than my son has played some summer ball with Austin Godwin and some other FCS players the last couple of years. I don't know McNeal at all but he would be a fool to not start Godwin! The kid is a very good pitcher and has not thrown an inning this week so is plenty rested. If some relief is needed you could bring in Swindoll on 2 days rest at that point. This is just my opinion but think Godwin has to be the guy today.
  9. TSSAA screwed the pooch in the new 11-AA. Not a lot of room for out of district games with a 9 team district. Had to deal with all the whiny babies in the South because they don't want to play CPA and why in the world is Lewis County in that district! They wanted in but now all they want to do is gripe about travel. Well guess what stay where you belong and it would've been okay. Rumor has it 11-AA will be split in baseball, which is a terrible thing in my opinion. No good way to split it up evenly though, but the TSSAA knows best right?! Harpeth-CW was always a good rivalry so maybe it can stick around.
  10. I'm not sure I would say Central threw off against Harpeth as didn't they pitch Johansen on Monday? He beat Harpeth 16-4 the week before and has been their Monday starter all year. If they didn't pitch Johansen or Drudy then not a smart decision. But Drudy pitched last night againt Waverly and today against Camden. So I believe Johansen started and I wouldn't consider that throwing off. As for Harpeth they get Central tomorrow in the Championship. They should be in a better position than Central pitching wise. Harpeth is playing much better here the past week or so. Good luck to both teams tomorrow. P.S, How mad are the Harpeth folks at Coach Walls now? He has you playing for the District Championship and in the Region, pretty decent year!
  11. Andrea McMillan - McEwen - Walters State CC Danielle Morris - Mcewen - Columbia State CC
  12. Schedule is Today (Monday) Waverly vs. Camden 4:30 p.m. Harpeth vs. Montgomery Central, 7 p.m. Tuesday Monday's winners, 4:30 p.m Monday's losers, 7 p.m. Wednesday Losers final, 5 p.m. Thursday: Championship, 4:30 p.m. I would be shocked if these games get in today. I don't think Central has a tarp but I may be wrong.
  13. We seem to be awful touchy about our stats don't we. I have never seen these boys play and have no idea how good they are. They may get drafted out of high school for all I know. My only point was I wouldn't go necessarily making claims simply off stats in unapproved website. Those stats may or may not be official for the school. if Riverside's are official then good for them but that is not necessarily true across the board. And as you said "Also, if you have players that have potential to play ball at the next level you will give your athletes a way to be seen and MaxPrep is a way to do that. Clearly, alot of the athletes have their info on MaxPrep for a reason and if your info isn't on their your coach or dad doesn't want to help further the possibility of the athlete playing at the next level." This is my point exactly! Dad can jump a batting average 30-40 points easy by calling something a hit not an error. We can maneuver stats to make them look better on paper to help junior out for the scouts and unapproved website is only as good as the info put in. That's all I said. I didn't discredit their ability at all. So again, before you get your panties in a wad, I know nothing of these boys and they very well could be great hitters, I just would make any claims based on a stat site that we are unsure of how good the info put in is. Riverside has a great run going and I wish them the best of luck this year in the TSSAA playoffs. Them against Friendship would be a good match-up again, if they can both get that far.
  14. The info on MaxPrep is only as good as the info put in. the statistical info on MaxPrep can be put in by coach's or dad's so I'm not sure I would take that for much. Don't know the boys they may be great hitters but don't base it just on what you see on MaxPrep.
  15. Next weekend, 18, 19, 20
  16. Not sure I want to judge him on 1 game. I've never seen a kid not have @ least 1 bad game. He is the real deal, i.e. the SEC teams are wanting him & that's why he committed to Miss. St. Perfect Game has him as the 21st best SS in the COUNTRY! Also recruited by Arizona, Arizona St. and Stanford. I have seen this kid play multiple times and he is good! And no I'm not from Summit or even Williamson or Murray County. Too bad you saw him on a bad day but never judge a high school kid on 1 bad game. I'll promise you he is as good a high school SS as I have seen.
  17. Creek Wood opened with Northeast Monday. The young team from CW got the pleasure of facing APSU signee Levi Primasing and he showed why The Gov's signed him. Very good fastball and nasty breaking stuff! Looked more like mid season stuff than opening night! The youngsters from CW struggled. Last night against Northwest CW got behind early giving up several walks and NW got a couple of timely hits to stake a big lead. But CW battled back only to lose in 8. CW left a runner at 3rd in the 6th and wasted a lead off double in the 8th. Great come back though for a young CW team
  18. Howdoitknow2 has been awful quiet since the game is over. Congrats to Cheatham on a great year!
  19. I was wondering when someone was going to make this point. Actually when a clock without tenths on it goes to all 0's there are still 9/10's (.9) of a second left. So there will be 9/10's (.9) of a second before the horn sounds. The referee is taught to listen for the horn and watch the ball. So she can still shoot with all 0's on the clock and it could be good because the horn had not sounded yet. I watched this video several times and never heard the horn. So there is no way to tell if the call is correct or not. Generally you would say as long as there is more than 3/10 (.3) on the clock you can take a shot. So without seeing the tenth's of a second there is no way to say it's good or not when it leaves her hand. But very well is probably good. Just for clarity, I was not at the game nor am I from either county and have no relation to anyone in either county. Furthermore i am not a referee. Just saying. Still a tough way to lose a game and if I were on the short end I would be unhappy as well.
  20. Page will be a tough matchup for CW, mainly the big girl in the middle. Don't really know what happened in Page-Camden game but that is proof anything can happen. I will guess both of these teams will be ready and it should be a good one!
