  1. A 41 point win in the opener has to be looked at as a good start, reagrdless of the quality of the competition. Q1 was pretty competitive and I'm sure COcke County is much better then they showed. THey couldn't get a shot to fall for them after the first period. Still, holding any 3A team to 29 points is not bad. The Admirals have been getting it done inside but showed their perimeter game hitting 6 treys against the Cocke County zone. DB will be a real contest and and tell a lot more about how this team will fair against the upper tier programs they will face in the Region.
  2. Farragut plays Friday at 10:30 against Dobbins Bennett. Game was moved to allow Farragut to support their football team which plays Bearden Friday at 7. Good call by the Chop House Tourney orgnanizers making the switch.
  3. Binder is the real deal. Can shoot the 3 or score in the paint with either hand, but their edge will be team play. Once again they will go 10 deep and you can count on Coach Dodgen's system to win games and as a byproduct keep any one player from putting up the big numbers that make PrepXtra lists or lead to post season accolades. No triumverate, but don't be surprised if the Admirals make some waves again this year.
  4. Don't get too excited. Oak Ridge has 4 starters on the football field.
  5. Bearden played 3 in a row including games against Shelbyville and Oakland. Farragut dominated a shorthanded Shelbyville Team and was up 15 on Oakland going into the 4th, but dropped it by a couple of buckets. These are scrimmages but without Fall Ball it's the first barometer for the season.
  6. Douglas is likely the best Post player in E Tn. It will take awhile for him to get into Hoops shape if he does play. Maryville was strong last year without him and will be strong again if he decides not to play. Still plenty of size, just not as much depth. But you can only play 5 at a time anyway. I'm curious about SOuth Doyle. They lost a lot of baseball err basketball players to graduation. Had a good junior, I think his name is Moore. Not much else. What do they have coming back?
  7. Where did all the size at WB come from. They were small last year. Transfers? Growth spurts? Exageration?
  8. This is one to keep for February and have some fun with. Just how well will the anonymous group of Farragut, William Blount, Lenoir City, South Doyle and Heritage players do against the defending state champs and D1 laden groups at Maryville and Bearden? Based on the number of players returning to the defending state champs roster and the high profile Junior class at Bearden, this might be the best District in the state., but Picking Farragut 5th is really going out on limb. They lost 4 starters, but return 5 of the top 9 (and they played 9 all season) and have an experienced coach and proven system. Add a few strong Juniors and a surprise or 2 from 7 seniors and its hard to see them sliding to 5th. Has LC gotten that much better? Does WB have the depth? Do Heritage and SD have something up their sleaves? Can't wait to find out!
  9. The Farragut Freshman beat AE by 40 and they beat Carter by 17 in the championship game of the freshman tournament. I definetly think they are the best freshman team in East Tn...
  10. Hey didnt we beat you at your place by 14 or 15, and you are right are student section is weak but hey who cares as long as we win and your team is nothing without logan johnson. He goes down and you dont win another game all year
  11. Who did maryville lose to. I know they only beat Austin-East by one. The farragut win was a fluke. Farragut beat austin east by 40.
