  1. I'm sure this will annoy my fellow Henry County faithful, but I still believe Page is the favorite here. I've been saying for weeks (around the time we were 3-5 and Springfield dropped their game to Beech) that whoever comes out of that bracket will have the upper hand over whoever comes out of this one. If I am wrong, it will be some of the sweetest crow I've ever eaten.
  2. Incredible athlete. Fast as grease lightning. I'd put him 2nd only to Marsalis in terms of athleticism. I also think Najee played on the best team we've ever fielded, but he was a big reason it was our best.
  3. Agreed. Also gotta throw some love to my guy Colton Randolph. He never gets brought up in these discussions as a 1-year starter, but he absolutely balled out in 2013. Even got the ring to prove it!
  4. Dang man. I knew I recognized your username. Where the heck have you been for 8+ years?
  5. I don’t know. McNairl had a freaking cannon. He wasn’t as accurate as Damron though EXCEPT on the run. McNairl could roll to either his left or right and and fling a dime 40+ yards. Think the Kenwood QB with a better team around him. I would say Teague was the best athlete we’ve ever had at QB, Damron is the best pure passer. McNairl though was probably the best dual threat. IMO of course.
  6. That sounds about right. I knew we had a small senior class. Didn't know it was quite that small though.
  7. I've heard the same but I haven't looked at a roster since early in the season. Pretty much only know what the paper says and they don't mention linemen very much
  8. Anybody know how much of our lines are underclassmen? I know a lot of our skill guys are but I'm curious about the trenches.
  9. Nobody should be discounting anybody at this point. You don't make it this far without being pretty dang good. As for our QB, he transferred in from Martin before his freshman season. I don't know enough about Westview history to say he would've been their best, but he's definitely been one of ours. Owns pretty much every HC passing record if you include playoffs, and still has another year.
  10. Agreed. Cannot wait for this one. The semifinals are always the funnest round of the playoffs IMO. This game should be a prototypical example.
  11. Gonna be a tough match up, but HC proved a lot tonight. Page QB is a beast. If our D can rattle him, HC will go to Chatt. Huge 'IF'.
  12. Oh I didn't mean to put any words in your mouth. I have just been favoring the region 5-6 winner in this matchup for weeks now. Obviously hope I am wrong!
  13. Appreciate the vote of confidence, but ain't nothing gonna be easy about next week.
  14. That was a great win for the Pats. Good season Jackets!!
  15. What happened to Rutherford County football was Oakland. I guess the good news for everybody else is that Murfreesboro is part of a burgeoning metropolitan area. It's still growing rapidly and things will eventually change. Oakland has a stranglehold on the talent and pipeline right now. That program actually exists at a perfect point in time factoring location, population, talent pool, etc. But it won't last forever, because the bigger a city gets, the harder it is to keep a lid on all that. When things do change, I hope it isn't for the worse. RuCo has generally been awesome. I really don't want to see it become a Nashville or Clarksville.
  16. Lol that Paducah Tilghman thread was a trainwreck, but at 3-5 it's pretty easy for the walls to start closing in. I'm just glad the team nutted up and buckled down. I said during the bye week that just winning our two remaining games and a playoff game would be a successful season. Well, we've exceeded that. I don't know how this game will go, but I do know it's hard to beat a good team twice. That's a plus for HC. The plus for Springfield is that they have HFA this time around and will definitely want to leave no doubt after they narrowly beat an ailing HC team earlier in the season. Massey and unapproved website both favor the Jackets in the close one, 21-20 and 19-17, respectively. FWIW, they both favored HC last time.
  17. I know all that, and it might have been for the better for the team, I just care a lot about about these kids. It's not really aimed at you personally, just more or less all the negativity that particular kid was getting. I hope he gets everything straightened out and has a positive senior year, if not here then elsewhere.
  18. Yes sir! I get roiled up in the competition as much as anybody, but it's easy to forget these are still kids at the end of the day, many of whom have some very real-world adult problems.
  19. Unless I have him confused with another poster, he's bashed that same player on multiple occasions this season. And even if it was the truth, I'm just not a fan of taking jabs at kids on here. Call me sensitive or whatever, I don't really care. Z had a rough year on the field no doubt, but that kid has had some hard-hitting personal issues these last couple of years that would throw almost anybody off track. Not sure I'd have responded any better at his age.
  20. No need to bash another player (who's no longer on the team) just to praise Barrick.
  21. I'm just messing with you. If I wasn't a HC fan I'd probably be pulling for Springfield as well. The Jackets are easy to root for. They're like an underdog that isn't really an underdog, but is still somehow an underdog.
