  1. That sounds good but.... A. The started played up until 3 mins and change left in the 3rd qtr. B. They pressed the whole first half even after they were up by more than 50 for about 4 mins left in the half. C. The running clock is a TSSAA rule not SH showing mercy. When your jacking up 3's in the forth qtr to score your 102 point you are running it up. This is not a player problem. I fault the coach and then ultimately the administration. Players just play the game the way they have been taught or coached to do. Hopefully SH players will win a championship, but playing like that or being coached to play like that against a inferior team is not a championship achievement it's a disgrace and intentional public humiliation of DC and their players. If University did that then I say shame on them as well.
  2. This is not a UCONN message board. And yes it is different when you have young 15-18 girls that are participating in an extracurricular activity at their high school. They are not SCHOLARSHIP ATHLETES that are getting 25,000-50,000 to play every year. THEY WOULD NOT HAVE EVEN BEEN CLOSE TO SCORING 104 AND BEATING THEM BY 94 IF THEY WOULD NOT HAVE PRESSED THE WHOLE FIRST HALF!!!!! AND PLAYED THERE STARTERS THE SECOND HALF!!! THAT'S THE POINT IT!! BARNWELL RAN UP THE SCORE! Yes you can tell your team not to shoot 3's. You say "hey ladies I want us to run "x" play and I want a lay-up. Lets work on getting the ball to the rim and I don't want you to relax. I want to see hustle and rebounding and good defense, but when we get the ball slow down the pace and let's run a play that gets up a lay-up." You do what you want to do!
  3. I don't know TommyMan do you think they should have kept pressing when they got up by 30, 40, 50, 60, or 70 points??? No??? Its just "playing the game hard" and "showing good effort" to press the entire first half and not in the second half!! Part of what you teach those girls in practice is how to win the right way and how to show the personal character of treating others with respect. Second point, if you are up by 70 why would you play your starters at all the second half if you were not trying to run up the score?? Next the running clock is high school basketball rule, not SH showing mercy. Once a team is up by 30 the clock runs for everything but timeouts and free throws! Obviously I guess after 70 it runs non-stop. I have seen Crockett girls play this year and they play hard an give great effort although they are not as talented, so I know they didn't just quit and let this happen. SH intentionally ran up the score! Anyone that was there know how many 3's they shot for the game or just from the 2nd qtr on, after the game was well out of hand? I think it's disgraceful that these girls were humiliated in front of friends, family, and everyone across the state who is keeping up with high school sports. The coach should issue a public apology and the conference issue a public reprimand.
  4. As a fan from the other side of the county I heard about this at breakfast this morning and I think it's disgraceful and disrespectful. There is no excuse for that. In the article in the news paper the basket that put SH over 100 pts was a 3 pointer by a reserve. So you tell me if they were trying to run it up or not? You don't shoot 3's if you are just "playing hard". I think that the Big 8 conference should demand an apology for unsportsman like behavior by the coaching staff and issue a public reprimand stating that any future attempt at public humiliation of young people in this area will accompany FINES! There are no excuses for this to happen. Period
  5. Congrats Vikes. You guys did the job last night. Wish it could have been different but looks like this rivalry is just burning hotter and hotter each year. I guess the coin flipped over last night we literally played our worse game all year and you guys played a great game. Again congrats
  6. Over confident? You guys didn't even sniff the end zone until our 3rd team was in and now your going to beat us by 2 TDs, I think you guys are a little over confident. Lets be honest the problems at TN High are not all about the QB. The QB can get you beat or win the game by himself and last game that's what it came down to 1 good QB and 1 that didn't do so great. Good news is that next year you guys are loaded and everyone else in the conference will be down. I say Vikes 2nd in conference next year, but Friday it will be the blazers that come out on top.
  7. QB comparison...I'll take Littleton in a MMA fight or the game Friday, the kid is tough and a play maker.
  8. It doesn't matter what did he do against you guys? 1 pick maybe a couple tackles and prolly 50 yds. You better watch out for 12. I think Boone might be better without Sanders...but then again I still can't believe I just said that after watching him the last few years and they haven't really been tested since he was removed from the team.
  9. Boone vs THS will be a totally different game this time around. I say Boone 28-21, but think the Vikes will represent themselves a lot better. DB wins 48-35 SH loses only because of heart break hang over from last week. Hopefully they can refocus and push forward, but very unlikely. With all the good luck I can muster up I hope for a South win just to screw the TSSAA but unfortunately they just don't have all their pieces together yet....Columbia 48-21 Good Luck to all...would love to see us all go deep and represent NE TN!
  10. So I assume this is a done deal. TSSAA has made an official decision and the case is settled. Is there anything else South could do to force TSSAA to change the brackets? What are the chances that the TSSAA makes a decision to change after media pressure? I guess I am just wondering is it over?
  11. And let's just say they win... Then where to? And then where to? The TSSAA is basically saying your not good enough to win so let's just get it over with and move on to othe teams we think will win. Do the right thing guys. You already screwed up once don't make it 2 times.
  12. Just sad for the boys at both schools. One hand South boys are thinking that their football careers are over as seniors and now may get a chance to play another game. Then looks like the Cleveland boys are on the short end of the stick. I feel bad for all the boys, as a former high school football player it's hard enough to admit that the end has come but for it to come on a phone call that says "Oops my bad" has got to be heart breaking.
  13. What happened with Sullivan South according to my calculations (if they really only count 10 games of NC teams) they win the 4th or 5th tie breaker by a point or maybe 2?
  14. We would love to see a familiar foe as well. But we will wait and see
  15. Its not about numbers its about people. The head coaches are a big part and edge to Jenkins. Then it goes to personnel on the field, after all the kids play the game. Both teams are talented, but advantage Toppers because of numbers but in the end it will come down to execution, who can make a play with their heart, head, and toughness. No one can judge that and hince let the game begin!! ...just a note to those who have commented about my analysis of why there is not a lot of community support for SH. I never said that JC was all white collar but what i did say is that your cities population is made mostly of college kids, college professionals, and people in the medical field. Now tell me what interest that some kid from another part of the country or world, a collegiate professor or medical professional who is probably again from some where else would come to a game unless their kid is involved. There are hard working blue collar people in JC. What I am saying is that what members of your community grew up going to friday night games with the family and of that population who probably did, did not go to SH... Anyways looking forward to a great game
