  1. Great to hear about Baker. If your information is true wrestlinggod, I see him making an immediate impact for Coach Eslinger. Also, hope to see instater , Scottie Boykin to build off his tremendous start last year as a true freshman. Any word though on what Watson's deal is at UVA? Also are Houston Clements at UNC and Barrett Walthall at UTC still competing? Only other instaters I can think of who would still be competing at the colligate level?
  2. Hope this is not true, but I heard that these former standouts are no longer competing? Heard Baker is considering walking on at UTC, but is no longer enrolled at ASU? As for Brunner, could possibly be the same? But had a falling out with the staff at SDSU. Also, is Zack Watson still wrestling at Virginia? Haven't heard much regarding him. Always thought he might be the next Leen. Hate that it didn't work out for Baker and Brunner, but these would be two excellent pick ups for the Mocs.

I have Santi in an upset over Elsea of McCallie in the finals at 120, as well as Parrish beating Marchetti (if you consider that an upset), and Hataway reversing a 2 point defeat against Popp. CBHS has a TSSAA record of 8 state champions, and legitimate possibility of having 10 finalists (add Tisdale 106 & Armstrong 285)... I, myself am not a CBHS fan nor supporter, but I have not seen this dominate of a team in a LONG time. Best of luck to all the competitors this weekend! This tournament will be a battle for second place. I see FRHS edging out Baylor, and McCallie/MBA 10-20 points behind that for 3rd/4th.
  4. my observations from tonight's match: 1)baylor is a contender when they have a full line up as they did tonight 2)mccallie needed two wins between 145, 195, 120 + a major from westbrooks (dec 7-1 over canada) and mccallie wins... mccallie loses all 3 & doesn't get major from westbrooks 3) i was shocked holloway wrestled and even more surprised he beat a super hot GRIFFIN DAVIS (not "blake griffen"...or dan wadley would have him on the basketball court LOL) 4) mccallie could easily win a rematch 5) i gained a new respect for houston clements. the kid was in a tough situation tonight, but handled losing with the utmost class...great kid! looks even more on the roids at 182 though LOL! 6) with that being said, clements just is not the same wrestler he used to be. hate it for him, but no longer posses any quickness whatsoever... looked like his feet were in mud, i guess that's thanks to that achilles injury last year.. just hasn't been the same since. should be a good rematch though with hoodenpyle. 7) i didn't spot wrestle90 anywhere? has the beautiful young lady stepped away from the sport? and the coacht board for that matter? come out of hiding 90! 8) maybe wrestle90 is in cahoots with the baylor coach and knew her brother wouldn't be wrestling mr. brunner and decided she would wait until the cowpalace to come out of hiding for the big match! 9) i left almost feeling i didn't get what i payed for due to "the match that wasn't" the fans got ripped off on that one...everyone was stoked for the meeting between state champs connell & brunner, but because the baylor coach felt the match was already in hand he decides to bump brunner to retain number 1 seed for state individuals ... come on coach! you did this last year against westbrooks too! 10) BBB is still the best in the game at covering the sport of wrestling 11) baylor needs to invest in a new gymnasium with that big #### endowment they have! or atleast a new AC unit... I don't know what was worse, losing 5lbs of water weight from sweating tonight or the fact that so many people didn't get to see the match due to the seating capacity... Just an old fart's thoughts on the match tonight. enjoyed it! can't wait for it again next year

What tornado has to do to pull off upset: 1)win either 132 match against brunner or 182 against clements or win both 2)may not be issue if neither brunner or clements wrestles..although i would be shocked if they didnt 3)cook needs a pin at 220 or 285 4) avoid bonus points at 106 5)boyd must defeat standifer at 126 or lose dec at worst
  6. Wow! I didn't realize it's been three years. Any chance we will ever see you suit up in those stripes again? I imagine an enthusiastic wrestling fanatic as yourself would have loved refereeing matches. Come on, who wouldn't??? I DO however think your project is an incredible idea. What is the long range goal? Is this something where it will be limited to your website only or do you see your project partnering with FLO ever as the state of Ohio has done with "Gohio casts"?
  7. Go Raiders! Thadd are you still refereeing any matches this year?
  8. HAHA! Is the article a no go this year?
  9. Really would like to see my Blackmon boy, Feuerbacher, AA this year...So very close last season. Also, good luck to another former Blackmon wrestler, Adam Wells!
  10. Trublu- I couldn't agree more that I hate to see two of our state's best wrestlers leave to wrestle out of state collegiately. I think it is totally unfortunate for Heath and the UTC program. Tennessee's elite wrestlers are truly underrated and Heath needs to do everything he can to keep these guys in state. I don't know the full story with Houston, but I honestly can't blame him. If I had the chance to attend a school like North Carolina back in the day, I can't imagine passing up that opportunity to go to Chattanooga. Carolina is one of the most elite academic and athletic institutions in the country. Really do hate to see the Mocs lose two in-state studs like this though... I look forward to watching both of those young men compete in the upcoming years!
  11. Just heard the news and wanted to congratulate one of my all-time favorite wrestlers, Houston Clements, on committing to be a Tarheel next year. A kid who has overcome more injuries than many I've ever heard of. Great kid, total class act, and always fun to watch. Congrats Houston to you and your family! 100% deserving. Best of luck this year
  12. Garret... article being published today? Many waiting in anticipation! Thanks for all you do for TN!
  13. Honorable Mention: Garret House! LOL
  14. My son is right around 60ish lbs right now.. that is great news! I will contact you soon, Steve. Thanks so much! What an opportunity for the kids!
  15. Anyone have a link to the schedule? Want to put some of the dates in the calendar.
