  1. Waverly did score at will in the second half of the game, but hopefully the Cubs can cut out the mistakes and keep themselves in this one.
  2. I would be surprised to see finley in anything other than his bread and butter offense... I don't know what the pool is up there in Dover but if he spreads it out thwy must have something
  3. I'm sure most of the town welcomes back not only coach finley but his two other staff members that have Cheatham ties as well. I haven't seen Stewart county this yr,but I know they picked up a win last week as did cheatham.I say you're gonna see two teams get after it tonight and the one with the least mistakes gets on track with a 2-3 record and a district win.
  4. These two programs are in similar situations both are trying to get back to the playoffs and that all starts this Friday night as they battle for bragging rights with possession of the powderkeg and a region win. anyone plan on attending if so who ya got?!?
  5. Hopefully our region Gets things rolling in week2!
  6. i know the guys at jo byrns always have tough discipline kids come out for their program, you can always expect that. I will say that cheatham has the potential to be a pretty good football team in 2015, it just depends on if the kids are ready to turn the program around. i say it's a close one 14-10 Cheatham gets the ball rolling
  7. 2 hungry teams meet tonight, and Stewart is scratching and clawing to keep themselves in the conversation of district 11. We'll see two programs hungry!!! Bet the game will pretty darn good!
  8. I think the picks are pretty accurate.i look for Stewart Co. to get back on track against Waverly And stay solid in the district. The Rebels have to fight tonight to get this district win. Their 1st
  9. Great job Milan! Y'all are headed to the "Ship" congrats to CPA on an awesome season! Surprised the score was as close after hearing about all the TO's.....
  10. Man that Coleman kid is strong! And quick! CPA hold on, and make a stop right here!
  11. I need the link to hear the game. Coach!
  12. Lets go Lions! Represent for middle TN tonight
  13. Undoubtedly a special group, and I made sure I let them know every chance I could! especially after the last game!
  14. Cubs5245- Thank you for that! Did you say your Dom wore #45?
  15. CUBS5245- excellent idea!!! These are functions that take us from a good foundation to a structure! Parents, supporters, and players all shouldn't stop contributing. I commend you for your words and putting on a function such as this. Ill be sure to attend!
  16. Wow! 1st- lets keep the content of this thread friendly and towards who it should really be about, and that's the kids that just poured out all they had for 13-weeks of great football for us to enjoy! 2nd- I'm not that far removed from being a player myself. While I was there this is how things went freshman yr 0-10 sophomore yr 2-8 junior yr 5-6 eliminated 1st round senior yr 8-3 eliminated 1st round. Coach Finley took over the program my junior yr. can you see the correlation between the record??? He was a no-nonsense coach, he came in and the first thing he done was weed out "wannabes" which I respected, he wasn't worried and perception he was focused on success. I wanted to be good, and have a team that people respected and feared. I think he enjoyed our mentality " we're not the most athletic or talented, but were gonna hit you all night until they turn these lights off and if you beat us then you earned it" (jumping off the good ole days box hajaha) what I'm saying is I thank that man (Coach Finley) for taking the job, without him who knows where the program would be. 3rd- I have no idea how the football program stays a live with those type of numbers being the only funding they receive?!?!? WTH. I'll say this on behalf of the coach at Cheatham if he wanted another job coaching else where he wouldn't have to look far. When you can have success with limited resources, imagine what people think you can do with unlimited??? The parents are lucky to have him there, if it weren't for his love for the kids he coaches he would have been gone!!! An that's a fact. This entire conversations has prompted me to inquire about coaching at CC myself. Forget the money I'm ready to volunteer my time for the sake of something much bigger than me , that's the football program that taught me about how to deal with life, and the coaches that taught me how to treat people throughout life! Rise up Cubnation!!! Lets build a powerhouse!
  17. Coachrus- I love what you just said! My thoughts exactly!! Lets build from this, come back stronger, get kids interested incoming to our community for a chance at the title!! If we could get support(BOE funds and backing) our community is on the "Cheatham Train" lets keep them aboard!!! And become a potential powerhouse!!!
  18. Ill start by saying thank you Cheatham Football! You have given me 13 weeks of excitement, joy, chances to spend time with former teammates, and something to look forward to on Friday nights! It has been a privilege to share in your Amazing run. Words won't make the pain of a tuff loss any easier, but please know you have made your entire community proud! We have much love and respect for all your accomplishments this yr. thank you for your dedication and hard work!!!!!! Thoughts about the game- honestly hats off to CPA that is one heck of a football team! You guys get after it and stay after it! Ya'll are a well coached football team that is disciplined, and full of great athletes. It's hard to lose but when it's to a good football team there's not much you can really hang your head about. TOP Class program, players, coaches, and patents alike! Good luck to the CPA Lions!!! You'll have my support the rest of the way! 2012 Cubs- y'all boys did y'all's thing this yr!!!!! Set the bar high!!!!!! #CUBNAT1ON
  19. I'm ready for our guys to face a team that has made it to the "Big Dance" and knows what success feels like. I know these guys were excited for last weeks game, but I think they have had CPA on their mind's for a while now. Gotta say I'm getting restless Reading posts and thinking about this game! I'm so proud of our guys from Cheatham, they believe in their team, and from a person who follows this sport closely it's the thing that jumps out the most! CPA we welcome you and your fans! I look forward to a hard fought AWESOME FOOTBALL GAME!
