  1. My point about fairview was motivated by the phrase (....looking at their quad....). Quad 3 is not devoid of competition I don't think that was blatantly implied but I just wanted to state that if cheatham does go on to meet milan or s. gibson or whoever it will not be without effort.
  2. That was just one of the easter eggs dancing through my head. Another one was the irony of it as postal dude would be getting the chance to experience cheatham football in the flesh.
  3. Cheatham had a time with fairview before they ultimately won. They (fairview) lost their qb in that game. It seems since then they have acclimated themselves to that change in personel. I think it cost them a game before adjusting.
  4. Are there a set number of wildcard slots? How does that work?
  5. There has to be a pause to reflect at such a possibility. Wouldn't all those western schools hate to have to travel all the way to ashland city (16 miles from Nashville) to play in a playoff game?
  6. Cheerleading is a sport. Archery is a sport regardless if you compete with anyone or draw down on an animal and the same thing with shooting. Now... poker (are you listening espn)... POKER IS NOT A SPORT!
  7. Is there a site providing point spreads to these games? Looking at greenbriers record that just doesn't look like a normal record from that team. I doubt if they lose that they lose by three touchdowns.
  8. I see that those two teams over 50 percent that cak has yet to play are alcoa and kingston... Wow!
  9. looking at that chart it looks as if quad 3 is the most competitive (at least on paper). Cak is going to end up with the #1 over all seed in the playoffs if they win out. It is inevitable. You can see it in column four. Their competition (that has won 50 percent of thier games) have won more over 50 percent than cheathams competition has. Column four for cak has 34 as opposed to cheathams 33 but cak has yet to play two of their opponents that are over 50 percent. When they play those two teams (and if they win) column four will go much higher for cak.
  10. Noone has unequivocally said that cheatham is going that far. We have been reacting to an unwarranted statment that cheatham is undeserving of their present ranking. Cheatham finds itself in a position that it hasn't been in for many of our lifetimes and we are charged up. If they make it far enough to see milan or cpa I would think they had earned some respect.
  11. tshadow isn't expecting everyone on this board to be an einstein. I merely expect a person to found their opinion upon fact. 'What if' is not a fact. Is that clear enough?
  12. I suppose testy is a good characterization. I also suppose your posts qualify as flaming. That post that gives a comparative rundown of the schedule of Cheatham as oppose to Westmoreland is how one legitamizes thier opinion. It gives real facts where you proposed to look at things that have absolutely no bearing on determining the validity of cheathams CURRENT ranking. Until last friday they played two teams within their division and one of those was camden. Upon the strength of those games cheatham is ranked fourth. The last four games within their division that you say is indicative of cheathams competition have no bearing on what they have already achieved. They hadn't been played yet. Deal in FACTS!
  13. Let's not even think about that nightmare until it happens.
  14. Cheatham is ranked fourth with no loses (who said they were the best). Hopefully they will state thier case for being the best on the field where such statments belong. Why should they be penalized for loses they have not acrued? They played and beat a team (fairview) that comes from a part of the state where the quality of football should not be questioned (though I don't see what that has to do with it, a team stands on their own merits). Anyway, I don't particularly care for confrontation. It is a balancing act to temper reparte with just the right umph and I may have added just a bit more forcefulness than was necessary. At times I have come with a less than adequately prepared opinion and have been given the benefit of the doubt on this board. If I was offending I apologize.
  15. If you have to denegrate cheatham and then ask about their line play it indicates that you are speaking from a position of ignorance. You bring up sycamore did it occur to you that cheatham played them? Look it up and tell me what the outcome was. You did ask.
  16. Harpeth hadn't beaten anyone with a winning record. I think they really need to win the reminder of their games (and I don't see that happening). I think camden is going to steal their hopes. After what the sycamore d did to them I don't see them doing much against camdens d. By the time the last game rolls around county pride may be the only incentive they have.
  17. I wouldn't so easily dismiss harpeth. After the pasting they took friday they will be looking (hoping?) to regain some respectability.
  18. There is a bit of a difference between a pe coach assigned to coach the team and a math teacher (which is what both Jimmy Stack and Bruce Gibbs were).
  19. I always thought cheatham was screwing up using teachers to coach instead of having a dedicated coach. Jimmy stack, Bruce Gibbs and a host of other coaches were from the teaching ranks. Don't get me wrong I don't have anything against those guys but when you split your time like that you have priorities and football is lower on the list of priorities than pop quizzes and mid terms. I felt the team suffered and weren't adequately coached up simply because the coaches prep time was eat up by curriculum planning. To emphasize that my HC Crass was more of a dedicated coach and we had a slight upsurge in performance from that.
  20. Harpeth a three seed ahead of fairview and westmorland? Seems almost blasphemous after what happened to harpeth last night.
  21. I'm always scared about crowing, karma always seems keen on reminding me that I can be wrong. Waverly's best chance maybe a rainout. (DOH!).
  22. I was glad to see your team standing toe to toe with that goliath ya'll played tonight. I wish you guys would have won. I'm still trying to find out if they invoked the mercy rule in our game. I mean it was reported they were up 53-6 at the half but then that was the score that was reported as the final. There is no way that 59 points is scored in the first half and none in the second unless they threw in the towel. It was raining at the harpeth game so I guess it was raining there as well. The storm has sort of moved into our area from there.
  23. Was it a mercy rule invocation or something? 53-6 is reported as final.
